That's exactly how I picture it to be. Yes, it can learn Dragon Pulse, but at this moment, it's an Egg Move. I don't know if they would give it to Charizard or not.

Volt Tackle is also an egg move, and they had no problem giving it to Pikachu. :P In general, though, I don't think it matters in the anime how a Pokemon learns a move in the games.

Yea, that's the reason why I'm so confused. But, Volt Tackle is Pikachu's line's signature move. So, it does seem reasonable of why they gave it to him. They did give Brock's Lotad Quick Attack though, so something like that might happen again. I guess we just have to wait to see.

Why is it okay for it to have Dragonbreath when it can't even learn it anymore.

Yes that is a Female Dino Charge Red. It's a FanFic thing

Sky Drop could work like Seismic Toss did, so it's like an upgrade.

Yea, and it can be upgraded to Sky Drop instead.
Sky Drop is also a newer move that hasn't been shown yet and works kind of the same.

now that i think about it it would be better for ash's charizard since he can use it against ghost types instead of using seismic toss on a dusclops

At the price of not working on Flying-types or levitating Pokemon, though. I prefer Seismic Toss, in all honesty. For the Ghosts he can learn Shadow Claw.

    - Flamethrower
    - Seismic Toss
    - Dragon Pulse / Air Slash
    - Shadow Claw

With that, he should be able to beat a Flash Fire Chandelure almost effortlessly.

IMO Flamethrower and Seismic Toss are Charizard's version of Thunderbolt and Quick Attack. I doubt the writer's will ever get rid of either of them.

I desperately need Scraggy, Oshawott and Snivy to evolve soon, this upcoming N saga has to deliver.

Scraggy and Snivy could evolve, but don't hold your breath on Oshawott though.

I hope Scraggy and Axew evolve at the same time while battling each other at the end of BW

Flamethrower is a generic move that the writers give to Ash's fire pokemon, and Seismic Toss is Charizard's only unique move that gives memories to the kanto days. Last time we saw the dragon, it's moveset was dragon breath, steel wing, overheat and seismic toss, so flamethrower doesn't have to permeantely stay on a pokemon's slot. I'm hoping Charizard learns a better dragon move, like dragon tail, and something to replace steel wing. For the arguement over Chandelure, I'm inclined to say shadow claw but I'm doubting that Ash will ever send Charizard out against a Chandelure.

It's torn between Scraggy and Snivy for the most likliest to evolve. Out of the two, I'd prefer Snivy as she hasn't had any development in her movepool whilst Scraggy's had plenty, so an evolution would definitely be a nice booster for the snake.

I think Scraggy is more likely to evolve, though I'm not sure which one I'd like to evolve more

I think Charizard's moveset is going to look like this:

    Fire Move
    Dragon Move
    Seismic Toss
Move related to previous opponents typing/moveset (Dusclops)

Now obviously, the only Ghost move in its pool is Shadow Claw, so really I could see:

    Overheat
    Dragon Pulse
    Seismic Toss
    Shadow Claw

Two long range, two short range.. and enough to show Dragonite who's boss. Flare Blitz is also an option if they want to go for a collision. Flare Blitz vs Dragon Rush..

the crucial difference is that quick attack & thunderbolt can STILL learn both those two attacks in the games there is no-way to teach seismic toss to charizard anymore as such the writers may want to remove it to better advertise the games. Also there are no direct replacements for thundebolt and quick attack that pikachu hasn't used before.Sky drop would be a direct swap.

Didn't Charizard already drop Overheat for Steel Wing?
