Every move Dawn's Quilava has known was used by Ash's Quilava at one point.

Yeah I would have preferred earth power or fire blast.

Ya but learning the same damn move when they evolve was just stupid, like seriously there were so many other moves that Quilava could of used, it did'n't have to be the same damn move.

It should have learned Fire Blast after it evolved. That move is so underused.

And what it does ? It's a rare, good move, Eruption. It's a little bit recognized by Cyndaquil's family, after all. I think they are totally different, except of the specie and some moves. Dawn's one his more young, good attacker and wants to conquire Dawn's heart (even if now, it's no more use). Ash's one is more old, good attacker too but quiet shy. Ash's have a larger moveset and is much cooler when it's time to battle, since Dawn's Quilava is done for Contest, first. I know Cyndaquil's family is one of your favorite (isn't right ?) but it's exactly the same, as say, for Bulbasaur and Squirtle with May.

It was the same but at least May's Bulbasaur and Squirtle learned moves that Ash's never had.

    Bulbasaur (May and Ash).
    Petal Dance - Solar Beam
    Razor Leaf - Razor Leaf
    Tackle - Tackle
    Vine Whip - Vine Whip

    Oh really ?

    Squirtle (May and Ash).
    Water Gun - Water Gun
    Rapid Spin - Rapid Spin
    Withdraw - Withdraw
    Tackle - Tackle

    Oh yeah ?

    Quilava (Dawn and Ash).
    Flamethrower - Flamethrower
    Eruption - Eruption
    Swift - Swift
    Flame Wheel - Flame Wheel

Differences ? No. The only coincidence was the fact that they two learn Eruption. Is it because it's Dawn or what ? She and Ash might not be the only Cyndaquil trainers who have saw their Cyndaquil evolve and learn Eruption. It was off-screen, that's the only difference.

Petal Dance and Solarbeam aren't the same thing and May's Squirtle also knew Ice Beam and Aqua Tail.

I'm just saying that there are many other attacks Quilava could of learned. I mean it learned Eruption, used it once and then replaced it with Flamethrower. It seems pointless to me.

I know your point but the writers would have done this on this question too : When you think you could see Eruption again, since those Pokémon, who can learn it, are gone ? It was the better opportunity. Why taking care of Eruption ? Why not blaming Flamethrower (who replaced the move Eruption) instead of Eruption ?

    Magnezone is Colress' pokemon.

Typhlosion is probably gonna be a COTD.

You failed to add Bubble for Squirtle. Since Tackle(Not 100% sure), Bubble, Ice Beam, Rapid Spin were seen the most recently, not Water Gun.

They're connected though as they both share the same base power and are both moves with bad side effects "ex. Solarbeams charging, Petal Dance's lock move and confusion effect"

Ash's Cyndaquil learned Flame Wheel after Dawn's though... so for awhile, that was the thing that separated them

Didn´t Ash´s Bulbasaur used most recently Leech Seed instead of Tackle and Ash´s Squirtle used Hydro Pump instead of Bubble and Skull Bash over Tackle?, IIRC, Ash´s Squirtle only used Bubble in the first movie

They weren't the same but Gary's Blastoise shared more moves with Ash's Squirtle then May's Squirtle/Wartortle did. On the side note I like how even though the evolutionary line has a limited moveset, they made sure that Ash's Snivy and Trip's Snivy/Servine/Serperior shared no moves at all.

Ok, but my point is that there were many other moves they could of given Dawn's Quilava, it didn't have to have the same moves Ash's knows.

Yep they could have given it Heat Wave,Fire Blast,Overheat or Flare Blitz or they could have given it a move of another type like Wild Charge or Extrasensory.

I wouldn't mind Iris grabbing a Druddigon just for the sake of picking up another dragon.
