Well, it was the first Dragon type he caught and pretty well-liked. Plus I think a lot of people want Ash to have a Garchomp. ^_^;

I think that's also because he could have some interactions with Iris and because he supposedly didn't have much screen time back in DP, but I don't really know.

I've always wondered, why is Gible is the like the number one choice of a Pokemon returning? Just curious.

Because Gible is awesome and more funny than Oshawott.

To be fair, before Oshawott cemented its place on the Unova team until the very end of the generation, Totodile was the number one option.. Gible was a close second due to its late capture and minuscule amount of development..

People mostly want it to return so that Ash can evolve a Dragon type. I do agree to an extent, if only because I don't want Ash to evolve any later Dragon types while Gible remains in its basic stage.

Even seein the Sinnoh pokes again would be cool even if they just left.

I doubt that if the whole saga is about Ash wanting to defeat Team Plasma, and potentially team rocket as well, Ash wouldn't just be bringing charizard as the only non unova native pokemon to defeat the villainous teams, bar pikachu. We'll probably see the sinnoh pokes, and generally the pokemon we didn't see in the sinnoh league.

Well actually, it's just the pokemon the writers will market and want to use.

Basically we could expect to see every fire and grass type, bar Torkoal.. The ground and fighting types stand a good chance too, but i doubt we'll get any water types returning (except maybe Squirtle). Snorlax could go either way..

Glalie, Muk, the birds and the rest of the water types will probably remain at the lab and cry.

We still don't know about the Ash's goal in Episode N. I'm hoping some of his older pokemon return though.

It's just not as popular and marketable as Charizard, Quilava and Infernape. I love the thing, but unless a new evolution is created for it, I can't see it making an appearance.

these would be my preferences for returning pokemon:

Bulbasaur
Charizard
Squirtle -> Wartortle
Muk
Tauros (lol)
KINGLER!!!!!
Totodile (-> Croconaw?)
Corphish -> Crawdaunt
Glalie
Torterra
Infernape (All main starters appear in the saga directly after their region is over)
Gliscor (Just to know where it is)
Gible -> Gabite

I would think that Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charizard would be in a triple battle together (an imoportant one, of course)
Charizard will do lot's of other crap
Muk and Tauros will get a win each
Kingler will single clawedly defeat Team Plasma get lots of redemption
Kingler, Totodile, Corphish and Suirtle will all battle in a water type tournament, where Totodile and Corphish evolve
Glalie gets a few wins
Torterra gets at least 3 wins
Infernape comes, sees, kicks Corless's ***
Gliscor helps infernape
Gible travels with Ash thru the entire saga, and evolves into Gabite

What will really happen:
Charizard
Snorlax
Sceptlie
Torterra
Infernape
Gliscor

They all come, see, kick Plasma ***

LOL, all his released pokemon were shown in the second Battle Frontier opening too and none of them appeared.

Those are most likely meant to represent those appearances.

We have nothing for Klinklang or Shinx. They could appear in the league(The former as a battling Pokemon, the latter as a background Pokemon), or they could belong to someone("COTD", Corless, Ghetsis, N, whoever is to appear in the episodes coming up), or they can be wild.

I think Klinklang will be Corless', not sure about Shinx, don't really see anyone getting it.
