Looks like Pignite is getting a new move as well.

So Oshawott, Scraggy, Snivy, Boldore, and Pikachu are so far the only ones without a new move from the league. Pikachu probably wont get a new move, Scraggy probably wont at this point either unless Ash will battle Virgil. Which leaves Oshawott, Snivy, and Boldore.

Assuming Ash doesn't battle Virgil and as such Scraggy comes out with no new move I can see Snivy and Boldore not getting a new move here, they use their four moves most of the time. Oshawott I hope gets a new move though, with what you know now, it's basically got three moves considering Water Gun and Tackle(Whichever you would think is it's 4th move) never gets used.



They didn't learn them during a battle(I don't think they did at least), looked more like they learned them prior to the battle off-screen. The writers probably wanted to add more excitement to the league, new moves seem to do that. It just shows Ash trained his Pokemon.

Just watched preview, looks like he's getting Brick Break

I could see Oshawott learning an Ice move, which is the reason Ash uses it vs Hydreigon.

Nah, not really, I beat Ghetsis´s Hydreigon with my Oshawott in Pokémon White:

- EV train the Oshawott in Sp. Def and Defense
- Give it an Eviolite
- Swords Dance - X-Scissor - Torrent activated - a final Aqua Jet and the dragon is down

Nah, not really, I beat Ghetsis´s Hydreigon with my Oshawott in Pokémon White:

- EV train the Oshawott in Sp. Def and Defense
- Give it an Eviolite
- Swords Dance - X-Scissor - Torrent activated - a final Aqua Jet and the dragon is down

If this happens Oshawott will suck at offenses and take a year to beat Hydreigon.

Unless they have troll face Wotter Popularus using Dig and Blizzard over and over then finish it with Shell Smash Hydro Pump just for fun......then get one shotted by a Fire type.

I am hoping Rocky Road is switched out but it seems unlikely. I guess Brick Break Roasted Pork will get the job done.

So far The Pokemon movesets with the exception of Speedwings, Wotter Popular, SmugSnake and Scragz2Ragz are getting slightly better.

It says AN Oshawott, not ASH´S Oshawott specifically.

There is 1000 ways for an Oshawott to beat a Hydreigon: Icy Wind, Ice Beam, Blizzard, X-Scissor, Rock Smash, Revenge, not mentioning all the stat reducing/enhacing attacks it can learn, it´s just a matter of strategy

If a Magikarp can sweep an entire team in the game and a Ratatta can demolish even the greatest walls, then I agree anything is possible. Stratgey is all you need to make it real.

I would like Wotter Popularus to have revealed to know Blizzard in this battle and Smugsnake Aqua Tail or Aerial Ace or anything but a grass move.

Is kinda easy to take down a Hydreigon, the thing doesn´t even have good defenses, Metagross or Tyranitar (even with it´s 4x weakness) are bulkier.

A well - used Encore would screw Hydreigon over

If it wasn´t already revealed that Leavanny has X-Scissor, I would like to see Oshawott using it, Snivy and him could use a new move, just for coverage

There is no confirmation if he is leaving or staying so let's not jump to conclusions we have him for at least another 30 or so episodes from the time being though.

I didn't say anything about Cilan staying, I was responding to someone else saying Cilan would become a Brock clone if he stayed.

Anyway... when N appears will he have pokemon? As he stated that he doesn't like to make them fight. I feel like it will be like the games where he has no option but to use pokeballs for now until he gets Reshiram. So when he shows up I can see him having...

Zoroark (Still needs to debut stays in his team)
Klang (Debuts and then freed after a while)
Eelektrik (Debuts and then freed after a while)
Sigilyph (Had one in the games, barely seen in the anime)
Archeops (Had in BW)
Carracosta (Had in BW)

then his team changes after getting Reshiram.

Reshiram (Captured or befriended whatever)
Zoroark (Main friend)

True to his character, N's team will probably be whatever Pokemon he happened to find that day. For his final team, it'll probably be Reshiram, Zoroark, Darmanitan, Swoobat, and two others (Archeops and Carracosta, perhaps?). The reason for Zoroark, Darmanitan, and Swoobat being that those Pokemon are the ones that he lived with as a child.

Yeah but what can or cannot happen in the game, has no effect on what can happen in the anime anyway. Our little Oshawott could dodge, dodge and dodge again, then take out Hydreigon quite happily with a Hydro Pump to the face, after several weaker attacks hit first..

That's what makes anime battles way more interesting than the games (when done properly anyway)..

True to his character, N's team will probably be whatever Pokemon he happened to find that day. For his final team, it'll probably be Reshiram, Zoroark, Darmanitan, Swoobat, and two others (Archeops and Carracosta, perhaps?). The reason for Zoroark, Darmanitan, and Swoobat being that those Pokemon are the ones that he lived with as a child.

LOl it's true that they have similarities but Dento simply get's better treatment then him so I doubt it.

Don't discuss about character's leaving yet in this thread. We don't when a new generation will start. Please, stop your speculation about Cilan and Iris leaving yet because they aren't leaving for Episode N.

Also, I'm going to be "contrary" of the fandom here:

Sorry, I like "cute" Pokemon more than "cool" pokemon. I don't mind that some pokemon of Ash's team won't evolve because they're too cute to evolve. Because the anime has the "power" (they don't use well) of boosting marketable pokemon into powerhouses like his fullly evolved counterpart. I don't mind not evolving if the writers want to keep in merch. A different thing is the reserves that don't appear in merchandise. Those pokemon should be fully evolved.

Sorry, I prefer Oshawott having screentime for marketing than a Infernape sweeping through the Unova League.

Yeah that must be why Samurott is NU while Hydreigon is the biggest threat in OU. Nothing can freely switch in on Hydreigon because of how diverse it's movepool is

It's not gonna win anyway, Pignite looks like it will with Brick Break or Arm Thrust or sumtin (FINALLY)
