    Default Mono-Poison Team

This team is designed for both competitive and Battle Subway/Wi-fi play.
It was made to prove what Poison type Pokemon are capable of, although they are commonly overlooked and underestimated.

P.S. It is my opinion that Poison type are "overlooked" and "undersetimated" due to the fact that they are less used than any other type and are the only type to lack a Legendary.

    Crobat (F) @ Flying Gem
    Trait: Inner Focus
    Ev's: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Acrobatics
    - U-Turn
    - Confuse Ray
    - Taunt
Crobat's Role is the Lead. He utilizes Hit-and-Run tactics to support the team, depending on what it opposes.
Acrobatics: Hits hard; used primarily to weaken foes or score a 0HKO against Pokemon who lack resistance.
U-turn: (Really needs no explanation), but used to switch out to resist its weaknesses while dealing damage in the process. Especially effective against cocky Psychic types.
Confuse Ray: Used to confuse opponents and potentially force a switch out. Becomes useful and, if Stealth Rocks are launched, annoying.
Taunt: Cancels all attempts to launch Entry Hazards and set-ups. This move is useful against any Pokemon with few attacks, and is also a scouting technique. This move is predicted, however, so my opponents often attack anyway. It really pisses me off.

    Drapion (M) @ Razor Claw
    Trait: Sniper
    Ev's: 126 HP / 126 Atk / 252 Sdef / 4 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, - SAtk)
    - Night Slash
    - Cross Poison
    - Twineedle
    - Swords Dance
My wanna-be Specially Defensive wall. Drapion is built to resist His allies weaknesses and to hit hard with Criticals, which are boosted by his Sniper ability.
*On paper, his stats seemed more geared towards Physical defense, but in a team filled with Psychic type weaknesses, he is useful. His typing resist types that commonly attack Specially, so a wise switch in will do little damage.
Night Slash: Used for damage by STAB+12.5% to land a Critical Hit. Deals with Ghost/Psychic type.
Cross Poison: Used for damage by STAB+12.5% to land a Critical Hit.
Twineedle Hits from 2 times, which each has a 12.5% to land a critical. That means that it has a 25% to land a Critical Hit at most, a 1/4 of a chance at least. Does not deal much, but two criticAl hit in one attack sucks.
Swords Dance: Doubles attack power with a single use. Land a critical and it's 5* thanks to the Sniper ability. After two uses 7*, and after three 9*.
    Weezing (M) @ Lum Berry
    Trait: Levitate
    Ev's: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
    Bold Nature (+Def, - SDef)
    - Clear Smog
    - Fire Blast
    - Will-o-Wisp
    - Pain Split
Weezing's role on this team is Physically Defensive Wall.
This set was borrowed from Smogon.

    Gengar (F) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Levitate
    Ev's: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Shadow Ball
    - Focus Blast
    - Icy Wind
    - Destiny Bond
Gengar's role is the Special Sweeper. It holds a Life Orb for power, and abuses it's side effect with Destiny Bond.
Shadow Ball: Used to deal damage (STAB+Life Orb). Provides excellent coverage with Focus Blast.
Focus Blast: Used to deal damage (STAB+Life Orb). Provides excellent coverage with Shadow Ball.
Icy Wind: DRAGONKILLER. This attack is the only Special Ice type attack that Gengar can learn, and is only used against foes who take Super effective damage, especially 4* damage. It's side effect is also useful for his slower teammates, who cannot out speed the foe.
Destiny Bond: Used to take down opponents with him. Taking damage from Life Orb and Entry Hazards only build momentum towards this move, and is an option in a situation he cannot win.
    Toxicroak (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Dry Skin
    Ev's: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Sucker Punch
    - Drain Punch
    - Substitute
    - Swords Dance
Toxicroak's role is as a Physical Attacker. With the Dry Skin ability, it can become somewhat of a counter to Rain Dance teams.
This set was also borrowed from Smogon.

    Nidoqueen (F) @ Sitrus Berry
    Trait: Rivalry
    Ev's: 252 HP / 126 Def / 130 SDef
    Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
    - Earth Power
    - Super Fang
    - Dragon Tail
    - Stealth Rocks
Nidoqueen's role is Phazer. Naturally, her attack power is laughable, but she is used to weaken and prepare sweeps.
Earth Power: Used ONLY against foes who are either Male or weak against Ground. Deals 2* damage to Male opponents, and 2* to Pokemon who are weak against Ground types. If both,
Super Fang: Chips away 1/2 of opponents health, which is murderous with Stealth Rock. Excellent move for a Phazer.
Dragon Tail: Deals little damage and blows away the opponent for more damage.
Stealth Rocks: Penalizes the foe for switching out or becoming a victim to Dragon Tail.

    Suggestions needed.

Thank you for taking the time to rate.

Original team I must say, but with only 1 Dark type, you are very Psychic weak, so why not replace something with Skuntank?

Twineedle always hits twice. Not 2-5 times, just twice.

Also, why Nidoqueen uses Earth Power against males? Rivalry boosts attacks against the same gender, not the opposite. btw, why not give it Leftovers?

    Thank you for the advice.
The source where I got the information for Twineedle for clearly said "2 times". I assumed that since it was a multi-hit attack, that it was 2-5.

I decided to give Nidoqueen a Sitrus Berry because this team is also a Battle Subway or Wi-fi team, but I do run leftovers for Nidoqueen online.
Oh and feel free to add sprites; my phone cannot.

you get stars when other people rate your thread on the upper-right of your thread. and 4 is good. 3 is average, so you actually should be happy You can also rate other's threads by clicking "rate this thread"

We cant add sprites either... only you and mods can edit your post. btw is a wildcard in your team allowed, cause with a good pursuit user, immune to/resisting psychic moves, such as Scizor and TTar, your psychic problem is nearly gone.

Fortunately yes; this team Was used on the OU and was pretty dam effective. Psychics were not much of a problem, but Latios gives me trouble. I will definitely consider Psychic counters.

On crobat put leftovers/life orb and brave bird it is stronger in the long run instead of confuse ray put roost for recovery, specially as he is SR weak.
don't put 4 HP EVs he is SR weak put it in a defense.

Drop Twiddle and cross poison put Earthquake, crunch instead of night slash relying on crits is bad sinc they rarely land even with boosts I use absol some times so I know, you can put pursuit or rock slide, pursuit can also replace swords dance as I don't think drapion can sweep specially in OU.. 90 attack is too low for sweeping scrafty have good coverage than's why he can sweep sometimes. the set is weird since you use a sweeping set and EV sited to a tank if you want a tank use toxic spikes set.

On gengar put subtitute instead of icy wind and pain split instead of destiny bond gengar is famous for causing switchs so you can always find a chance to sub.

on nidoqueen: ability: sheer force (get from dream world)
super fang works awful wit stealth rock it cheaps half of the *currrent HP*
so put fire blast for things that wall you.
    And why only 4 members?
