Hard to say honestly. If Jets switched to his other STAB it would still be a solid 2HKO even if you Rested. Might have stopped the full sweep but probably not won you the game.

Edit: Then again Waterfall has a 20% flinch rate. So the chances of a crit or flinch in those 3 turns isn't really hax, its expected. You only had about a 42% chance of avoiding a crit / flinch in those turns.

I agree. I still had a poke to switch into that was immune to that stab, however.
The flinch still had a slimmer chance of occurring than not. Earlier, you'll see that I said it just would've come down to how each of us played our cards after I stopped the sweep. Again, it may or may not have been a game-changer. Like you said, it's hard to say.

Gyrados or Swampert, or Crawdaunt if you are feeling adventurous. I would assume Swampert because Flying is a stab that you cannot be immune to where as ground is one that a lot of pokemon are immune to. And no I have no idea what team you were using I am just taking a shot in the dark here =)
