Introducing a rotation system would be cool. As would just dumping or trading some Pokémon.

And remember he wont' always be traveling alone

I'm going to be updating soon but I wanted to announce that I've added an attackdex to the first post. I want to have consistency in this face-off and make it's own entity and I think having it's own attack dex will help it out a lot

~ Chapter 2: First Steps ~

“Ok Slugma lets beat this kid” Skyler said, commanding his fire type forward.

“No chance loser! Fire is weak to ground!” The ninja boy shouted at Skyler. Just then his Nincada rushed forward and slammed its claw into the fire type causing it to screech in pain and jump back towards its trainer flying back into its Pokeball. “GAH stupid bug type! Oh well, how about you face the wrath of my Stunky!” The ninja boy pulled out yet another pokeball and sent forward a foul smelling Pokemon.

From behind Skyler Sandshrew started squeaking angrily and stepped forward to fight. “Ok Slugma, let’s have Sandshrew take a turn!” He pulled out a pokeball and called the slug back. “Sandshrew start things out with a Scratch attack!”

The little mouse ran forward and sank its claws deep into the skunk causing it to go spiraling. “Poison gas go!” Suddenly a purple cloud fell over Sandshrew causing it to grow week. “Good now scratch it!” The ninja boy exclaimed, very pleased. The Skunk slashed the rodent throwing it back into a tree. However, it quickly rolled into a ball and bounced off, slamming into the Skunk and knocking it out.

“Sandshrew return.” Skyler said, calling the rodent back. “You need a rest.” He looked up, expecting the ninja boy to insult him again or send out another Pokémon but he was nowhere to be seen. Skyler called back Slugma into his Pokeball and then looked up at Treecko. “Ya coming?” He asked the gecko, starting to walk away. It once again rolled its eyes at its new trainer before bounding after him and jumping onto his back. They continued down the route and starting to realize how the ground was becoming rocky, Skyler pulled out his map. “Well it looks like we are heading up Jagged Pass.” He shouted back to his Treecko. “It will lead us up to Mt. Chimney and then we can head over to Lavaridge Town and get our first badge!”

Skyler began to run, wanting to get to Lavaridge Town more than ever now that he won his first trainer battle. “We will do great, I know it!”

I don't want everything to be akin to the games and be mechanical and strict, there will be a few loose things. I'm thinking about putting pokemon up on Mt. Chimney just for fun and to create more variety a choice.
