Hello people of Sppf and welcome to the Final Fantasy Club! Final Fantasy is one of Square Enix's most popular and beloved franchises. Each installment has awesome characters and amazing storylines. Currently, there are 14 installments plus numerous spin-offs. Here, we discuss Final Fantasy, the characters, upcoming games...just anything Final Fantasy or anything related to it ^^. I've noticed some FF Clubs in the past that die off and go inactive fairly fast, but since I'm a huge FF fan and love the series dearly I'm hoping to keep this club alive and well ^^!

What do you like most about the series?
I love the complex stories that are very attention-grabbing, dramatic, and heart-touching. What are your thoughts on FF13 and FF 13-2?
Very good games in terms of a warm-up for the other games in the series, but I really would've appreciated a less linear gameplay mode. What is your favorite battle system?
ATB (Active Time Battle) or the new system for Versus XIII (the one based on KH) If you chose to live in any Final Fantasy place, which one would it be?
It used to be Cocoon, but I think Rabanastre from FFXII Which Final Fantasy game did you think was the hardest and why?

Spoiler:- Credits, etc.:
Thanks to Wolf Prince for the userbar and Sworn Metalhead for the banner. Steel Sector = great banners!
I have officially claimed Riku, wielder of the coolest Keyblade: the Way to the Dawn!
If I'm not on, it means I'm probably in school again, so I'll be pretty much non-existent around here, but you'll see me probably next summer.
hmm I see a discussion is thoughts on ff13/FF13-2...
I actually really liked the original 13 and I thought the ending was decent and character development was nice.
But 13-2... Spoiler:- BIG SPOILERS!!!:
I think it personally was a waste except for introducing Noel/Yuel/Caius. I mean Serah/Lightning and the rest of the characters kinda get completely EFFED >.> if ya know what I mean. The only other thing I liked was the open worldness that should have been in 13( but 13's story wouldn't permit it)

My Fav Pokemon:
I liked XIII. I agree with a lot of the flaws in the gameplay and story people pointed out, but I liked it even despite them. The characters were mostly what did it for me, and I actually found the handful that were largely perceived as grating (Hope comes to mind) very endearing by the end, because they were so goddamn flawed. Hope was a sheltered fourteen-year-old boy, for crying out loud... not to mention the others. Lightning has probably had issues with being too defensive and emotionally guarded all her life; Snow eventually figured out he needs to take the feelings of others around him seriously; Vanille was forced to confront fears that were ruining hers and others' lives the more she tried to run away from them; Fang had to learn the hard way that she can't just take matters into her own hands no matter how hopeless or frustrating things gets; and Sazh had to face the one thing no parent ever wants to deal with, the loss of their child.
I could go on, but I'll leave it at that. I was all set to dislike XIII-2 and otherwise be reluctant to play it -- I remembered X-2 was released for seemingly similar purposes as a sequel, and that one was fairly disappointing, even though I liked it more than... well, most. But eventually I caved and bought it, and I have to say, I enjoyed it way more than I expected to. Not only did I wind up loving Noel to pieces when I was so sure I wouldn't give a damn about him either way, but I really liked what the game did for the worldbuild, even if it took most of the previous characters back a few steps while pushing others further forward, and not due to the time traveling shenanigans. Hope's development really came full circle in XIII-2, but Serah's suffered, as did Lightning's. Not to mention we have no idea what the **** is going on with Snow and Sazh, and the game seems to have raised more questions than it answered. On top of all that, I really want to like Yeul or feel something for her other than "oh, it's that plot device girl", but they're... really not giving us much to work with, and that ending to the Lightning DLC story did nothing but make her seem suspicious.
...So I honestly never thought I'd say it, but I did enjoy it enough that I really want Squeenix to put out XIII-3. That cliffhanger was cruel and horrible, and I would absolutely buy a follow-up just to figure out what in the hell is even going on anymore. Plus, the gameplay mechanics were fixed up quite a bit, and I definitely think they listened to the complaints about XIII and kept them in mind for XIII-2.
