Name: Soaring Melody

Race: Pegasus
Skills: Plays a variety of instruments; specializes in the cello. Has perfect pitch. Average athletic abilities. Wing Power: 5.4.

Personality: Melody (her preferred shortening of her name) is hardworking and loves to help others, especially when they have questions about music. She is accepting of others' opinions, but once she decides what she thinks there's not much that can sway her! She is a little shy, and may even seem aloof at first; something which she is trying to change. She is optimistic and loves a good laugh. Music is her passion. Melody is a musician first and a pegasus second--so much so that she was one of the last to arrive to fly water up to Cloudsdale last year!

Appearance: Taller than average. Body is yellow with a smidge of orange mixed in. Mane and tail are dual-colored purple and light blue, and are long and wavy. Melody often needs to blow her bangs aside to see what she's doing.
Destiny Emblem has an eighth note pattern with an oval opal as the head.

Cutie mark: A purple bass clef, since Melody's first instrument was the cello.

History: As a filly, Soaring Melody went to Flight School like anypony in Cloudsdale. She did decent, but couldn't show the enthusiasm that everypony else had. Flying just wasn't what Melody was interested in, which worried her, since isn't it required for a pegasus to enjoy flying?
Everything changed with a class field trip to Canterlot when Soaring Melody was 8. She and her peers attended a concert, and the main musician was none other than Octavia! As she heard the music, the beautiful sounds Octavia could coax from her instrument, Melody knew deep within her that this is what she wanted to do more than anything else in the world. Her cutie mark appeared then and there.
With her parents' blessing, Soaring Melody soon moved in with her aunt in Canterlot. She was at first annoyed that she couldn't take lessons from Octavia, but after a bit of searching around she found a fantastic teacher and quickly became proficient in the cello. She branched out to piano, clarinet, french horn, to name a few, hopping all around Canterlot for lessons.
One day, Melody's cello teacher told her that she could no longer instruct her. When Melody asked, "Why?!" she received the amused reply, "You've gotten better than I am! You know, with your passion for music, you would make a great teacher yourself!"
Now graduated from student to teacher, Melody moved to Ponyville and founded a music store. Currently, she sells all kinds of instruments and accessories. She gives lessons for free, and as such has gained a large clientele.

((I was wondering about ages--I tried to put them in human years, but is there a different pony standard?))

@Thecatteam - Personality and Appearence just barely meet critera but that doesn't matter too much. You are Accepted! As for your question: yes, the age is supposed to be as human years. It's unknown whether or not ponies in Equestria actually age at the same rate as humans, but for the purposes of this RP, it shall be assumed that they do.

@Chili - Don't know what to tell you. If you can't find it, don't worry. It's not like it's actually nessesary, it is just nice to have a picture to show what they look like.

Skills: Digitail can organise anything in a short period of time. He likes everything neat, so picked up this skill with ease.

Personality: Digitail is a smart pony. He loves to read novels, to write novels and is in to all the latest technology, even if there is not very much of it. Digitail is a witty, clever pony who is always ready to help in bad situations. He's always, under pressure or not, he takes pressure shockingly well. Digitail is also a kind pony, he'll think of the kindest things to say and the best gifts he can get for his friends and usually hates being mean or angry towards people. Digitail is also a rather brave pony, too. Digitail takes to leadership well and can be a strong leader in tough situations.

Appearance: Digitail has a dark grey shade of fur, covering all of his body, excluding his mane and tail. His tail and main seem to be some sort of magical, small cubes flying around where hair should be, these dark red pixels are a mystery, but Digitail just says it's magic that was born with him.

Cutie Mark: Digitail's cutie mark looks like the original Game boy It is a red device, with rounded corners, near the top there is a black screen, covering most of the shape Towards the bottom of it is a keypad, a up, down, left and right button. Next to this are two circles with an "A" and a "B" marked on them, both of these buttons are a dark grey. The whole shape though is a vibrant brick red.

He learned to speak and walk with great speed, and both his rather intelligent father and his confident, brave mother were overjoyed to see their son's progress. The family lived a happy life and Digitail grew up to be a very smart pony, thanks to his father's teaching outside of his school and automatically, from birth had picked up his mother's bravery and leadership. Even though Digitail didn't really fit in with a lot of the ponies in his school he was still always happy with his life. Digitail trained magic and flying with his father, discovering new things about himself along the way, so Digitail is very skilled at using magic and flying. When Digitail turned 16 he wanted to move to a college, and agreed with his parents that he would move to Ponyville to go to the college, so, he moved in Ponyville and is studying hardly there.

Misc Info: I know some of the parts of my character are a little unreal or unnatural forth My Little Pony universe, but I hope it will be okay, thanks.

1. You're a Pegasus. You don't have magic; at least not yet. *hint hint*

2. No offense, but you character seems like a Mary Sue (or rather Gary Stu, since he's a guy). I mean, your character is smart, clever, friendly, kind, brave, and a natural leader, but apparently has not a single negative trait. Your character can't be perfect; no one is perfect. Describe at least a few negative traits of his. Maybe he's overly neat, to the point of being obsessive compusive about it? Or maybe he's shy when it comes to talking to ponies he's never met before?

3. Appearance is waaaay too short. And the floating pixel things gotta go. That wouldn't even make sense for a Unicorn to have, let alone a Pegasus.

4. Game Boys don't exist in Equestria. Besides, from what I have seen the technology of Equestria is probably the equvilant to technology in the 1920's/1930's on Earth, so even if it WOULD exist in Equestria, then it hasn't been invented yet.

5. Some of this just feels like filler. And some of the sentences just feel akward, such as "his mother and father were both very happy to see him born." But I think the only real problem with this is that he apparently went to college in Ponyville. First, I doubt there's a college in Ponyville. Second, why would he specifically want to go to Ponyville's college? Oh, and as previously stated a Pegasus can't use magic.

Sorry, but it's not going to be ok. I'm going to have to Reject Digitail. The whole basis of his character is based on an idea that really makes no sense for a Pegasus. You are very much welcomed to try again, and reuse any ideas that I didn't shoot down, but Digitail just isn't going to work. My apologies.
