If I remember correctly, it was a Teddiursa with metal claw left over from egg move breeding. I had about 150 of the little buggers. I figured, you know, he's precious, and he also knows METAL claw...I never used the Steelix anyways. The only reason I ever trade is to collect. Me Collectsta. :3

Hahahaha I too gave her a Magikarp and then promptly boxed the Steelix. I didn't have anything else to give her at the time so I had to go out of my way to catch the Magikarp. The only reason I did the trade was for collection purposes, I already had a Steelix. :S

Jasmine and Lt. Surge. You could trade any Pokemon to Jasmine for a Steelix (hence this thread) and you could trade any Pikachu to Lt. Surge for a French Pikachu. Though Even though the Pikachu is technically French, it does not work for MM if I am correct.

In the beginning of the game I trade (and SR) for Rocky the Onix.
When I get to Jasmine I use him, because he is well leveled, and Steelix is overall better.
