The writers sparing one gym battle is totally different than giving them all eight gyms along with Ash.

I don't know, we've had 4 main girls on the show and the thought of a 5th annoys me.

I want 6th Generation to be Ash's last journey and I want that Journey to be treated like his last Journey.
So That journey should showcase all Ash's development So Writer should bring someone who will point at his change.
That Why I want the 6th Generation Cast Girl to be Ash's childhood friend who move to another region before Ash started his Journey.
I want her to be a great straight man with awesome Tsukkomi skill Who take Brock/Cilan place in the series.
Offcourse , The male has to a bizarre character.
She often comment about how much Ash change since the last time she saw him.
Anyway ,
This Episode probably going to Showcase Drayden''s ability to bring out Iris potential .
I guess Writer has to establish Drayden as a great Teacher rather then a Gym Leader.
After all , Iris need to see Drayden as her master who can help her in reaching her goal of becoming a Dragon Master.

Iris will most likely not unless she wants to go and continue her dragon training there im sure she will stay with drayden once ash goes on another journey

Yeah true, may used to be my fav until I turned on my TV one day and saw the DP valley windworks ep. that got me hooked back onto DP and started my road to conversion.

For me its all personality. like bianca at first annoyed me but now im fine with her. iris i always thought she was loveable and a great character. so who knows it all depends where they go with 6th gen but thats not for a while

Wait. Iris really has problems about staying after the league because this episode (and the episode before). Basically, if Iris get "closure" in this episode, has some problems to stay in the filler saga. Although I understand why Iris apears to not leaving during Gen V, basically why any Gen VI character can't substitute Iris (and Cilan for that matter). Because if we need to substitute Iris they can substitute her:
Brock is aboy. And we need a girl in the main cast. Discarded.
A new charater is possibly specially when we know nothing about her, but apart from a new generation and new series (I see that in 9-10 months after league) we don't have any game characters to promote.
A BW character: Reduce this to Bianca because this could be the only real option for a "last resort". In this case, clearly is a patch between generations.
A older girl character like Misty. Not really, if is anybody is Dawn because the "crazy" Pochama promotion in merchandise. But the new game don't have contest and this clearly could spoiled new game features. In the case that opt to a past character return to thre main cast for "temporary" (only case with doubts) Dawn is the only realistic option. And adapting something like 95% anime-exclusive to 100% anime-exclusive isn't more easy to do specially if game contest are "unpopular" specially latter (I don't see expalining Contest in Platinum in any site, for example).

Basically we don't have many realistic options to substitute Iris in a filler saga.

Agreed, i hope we wont get another girl, im sick of constant character replacing. Just about when we dive into someone growing to like, writers replace him never to be seen again. Instead of doing continuation with his development, taking goals and aspirations forward, picking up from where they stopped.

There is no point to add new characters if older ones have potential to offer more, destroying continuity and chance of ever having stable cast.

So even though its pipe dream at this point, im in favor of Iris stay doing sequel to her story investing more in already established characters instead of flushing him down the toilet just like everyone else. It would be intriguing to find out more about character itself, see her grow more as trainer learning how to use dragons to full potential and overcome new challenges put infront of her.

Ideal thing would be in trying out concept of character rotation imo.
We would still get new characters ,but older fans would also have opportunity to see their favorites(like Misty, May, Brock etc) from past in action again, being updated, refreshed and developed further taking them in new/undiscovered directions.
Personally i would like to see Misty back in cast once more. It would be nice twist to see more mature and somewhat developed character joining cast doing build up on his story(and she had lot of potential, especially with water master goal), and her personality full of spunk and adventurous spirit could shake things up in cast. If we get world tourney expansion, joining BW cast for filler arc would certainly be unexpected.

people started talking about sixth generation girl even when its not confirmed yet. many of these speculated about filler saga...then what happened to it,eh??

Anyways,i dont think this episode will state anything about iris's exit after unova league.she probably wont leave.misty wanted to become water pokemon master and she ended up being a gym leader.may and dawn had same aim about being top co-ordinator.they left because they wanted to head to previous regions.now iris wants to be dragon master.so i dont think she will leave until she become one or there is possibility that draydon will offer her this post after league.
