Ah, I see then. Well, I honestly doubt there will be even double battles, but that would be awesome. Still sad there hasn't been any Triple Battles at all.

Personally I don't see Ash winning a league until he's first lost in the top 2

I know this ain't official, but considering Ash beat more of Tobias pokemon, specifically Darkrai, then the eventual losing finalist, one could already say that Ash was the second best competitor of the Sinnoh League.

Runner Up: Couldn't get past Darkrai
Ash (Top 4): Got past Darkrai and tied with a Latios.

Now tell me who was second best. Not saying Ash should've been in the finals in Sinnoh, but not saying that he wasn't second best either.

It would be really cool if there were though, it would be different but pretty legit! I can see Ash choosing these pairs:

Pikachu + Krookodile
Oshawott + Pignite
Unfezant + Snivy
Pikachu + Oshawott
Scraggy + Pikachu
Snivy + Emolga
The rest would be pretty tandom

At the very end. But its inconsistent. Like we got minchlax before the hoenn league.

We do, perfect for some Pokemon World Tournament action. If the league ends in January we have around 32 episodes for it. 4 episodes each tournament can fit in at least 4 of them and have room for character development episodes.

How do you know if we have seven months exactly? Suppose the writers do another rushed scene like at the end of Ash's league in DP.

I definitely wouldn't mind if if some rounds of the league were double battles but I don't htink that's possible as Virgil was stated to use his team of 7 and Eevee has mostly supporting moves so I don't see it being used in the league.

It's support moves make it perfect to participate in double/triple battles. He could best someone there then use the rest of his lutions in a full battle

I don't think you understood what I was trying to get at.
The league summary thing stated that Virgil is ready for the league with his team of 7, and there are seven eevelutions.
If he would be using Eevee it should have stated team of 8.

Since Eevee might not be used at all, it gives the impression that there might not be doubles/triples in the league. (and triples are messy, which are gross in the anime)

Honestly, I thought that too. Virgil will probably only use the Eeveelutions. However, that doesn't preclude double battles or even triple battles at the League. Who knows, maybe the Eeveelutions can be a great combo even without Eevee to cover their backs (Water Gun+Thunderbolt or Razor Leaf+Flamethower anyone?).

Even if there are double or triple battles, we will only see a quick few seconds of Virgil's battle against a COTD most likely because I have a feeling Virgil is going really far.
