I disagree. Snivy held her own against Bianca's Pignite back in one of the two Emolga episodes after the Castelia Gym. Snivy has been shown to be strong regardless.

Snivy has been graced with the power of determination, but that doesn't mean she's ready to defeat a fully evolved Fire powerhouse. She is still very frail and her size makes her quite easy to throw around, like she has been when attempting to Vine Whip opponents in the past.

Don't get me wrong, she's one of my favourites, but she's not ready to stand up to and defeat everything. She needs to stick to basic and first stage Pokemon, because if she defeats those then it's at least acceptable, whereas if she wiped out an Emboar, Serperior or even Samurott, then there'd be hell to pay.

Too strong, I call plot hax. And just saying I also called out bulbasaur, squirtle, pikachu, cyndaquil, corphish and especially chimchar on it so I'm not singling snivy out.

Bulbasaur being strong to take down or tie with fully evolved pokemon was a tiny bit more believable due to his body shape and size, but Snivy's body is so fragile and thin, it's hard to take a fight like Emboar vs Snivy, seriously.

I love her, but she does like she could be swung around easily. I remember in the earlier episodes, Ash told her to use Vine Whip on a wild Scolipede. I don't remember how many times it happened after that. But, that is something to think about.

Bulbasaur or Chikorita (before evolving) could have been swung around with Vine Whip just as Snivy has. It's just a matter that the writers didn't do it then and they did it now.

Also its tie with Meganium was believable since being grass/poison make it tank most of Jackson's pokemon attacks.

And it always was shown pretty bulky in all its battles, considering it never battled a big powerhouse pokemon (only Meganium)

The only one that did there, if I remember correctly, was Piplup beating Stoutland. To me, it's not that big of a deal.

Why so? We know that Snivy can hold her own even against foes like an Emboar, she only lost because she had to take up Tepig's slacking.. Why can't Oshawott win against Conkeldurr? We haven't seen Oshawott in a fight for a long time. It gained a new impressive move, and has two other moves that work fine against Conkeldurr's bulkyness. If the battle goes:

Snivy vs. Jellicent: Snivy
Snivy vs. Conkeldurr: Conkeldurr, but takes quite a few hits.
Oshawott vs. Conkeldurr: Oshawott
Oshawott vs. Serperior: Serperior - All of Ash's starters would've faced Serperior by then.
Pikachu vs. Serperior: Pikachu

Or we could see Oshawott beating a Chandelure for instance.. That would fit with Snivy falling easier to it, and Oshawott beating it with Hydro Pump vs. Fire Blast.

I was talking about Mijumaru being the last one standing against Serperior.

Yeah. It beat two of Fantina's Pokemon, which were all fully-evolved. It also beat Candice's Abomasnow.

That's the only reasonable outcome lbr. Logically speaking, I don't think Pikachu should be able to handle Serperior; at best, its Static ability could return and paralyze Serperior, thereby slowing it down. But that's all he has going for him at the moment (unless we get Thunder Armor, deuxième partie).

Staryu? Staryu isn't fully-evolved. -.- But, yes, Basic Stage starters have beaten Pokemon. Chimchar is a good example with it have beaten Barry's Staraptor, Byron's Steelix, Candice's Abomasnow, and Fantina's Mismagius and Drifblim.
