I know this is off topic but why do people don't like Iris as a Charter?
It's all a matter of opinion but the most common ones are
Her treatment of Ash
Her annoying catchphrase
Bad development
DEM that puts May to shame
Just a cheap replacement to promote gen 5 that will be kicked to the curb with gen 6
Her ethnicity(no joke I've seen it listed as a complaint)
Lack of fanservice
No clear goal(master of a type is a very vague goal)
Only 25% of her pokemon has never disobeyed her
I honestly think I would have liked Iris better if she replaced bianca or georgia as a recurring female rival. doesn't stop me from shipping her around though.
I can agree with the first two, but why devopment gets the back burner? What is DEM stand for? We don't need any fanseries from Iris anyway because this is an action show. Other two thing I can agree on because she does have a hard time getting Pokemon to trust her. I really don't get why fans say about her onclear goal because she want to be a dragon master like Drayden.

Mainly because she's different and has gotten treatment that no other female has gotten. The hate started with calling Ash a kid, then beating Ash in the Don battle finals, and most recently the whole Dragonite story.
Honestly, everything was fine until Iris was announced as the BW2 champion and then the episode where Iris battled the Cynthia and Axew learned giga impact. Since that episode, people have been weirdly jealous of iris because of the treatment she's gotten.
-People thought Axew would get wooped by Garchomp.
-Result was Axew learning a new move and landing a hit on Garchomp.
-People thought Dawn would defend Ash and tell Iris to stop calling Ash a kid.
-Result was both Iris and Dawn calling Ash a kid.
-People thought there was no way she would catch that Dragonite.
-Result was Iris catching Dragonite.
-People thought Georgia would beat Iris badly in the tournament.
-Result was Iris beating Georgia badly.
-People thought Dawn would beat Iris.
-Result was Iris beating Dawn.
And now she has two episodes featuring her return to the village and a battle with Drayden, not to mention this episode which mentioned her name in the summary. Like I said, it's pretty much all jealousy and immature hate.

I was willing to give Iris a shot at the start, she seemed like a cool intresting fun girl and I liked her interactions with Ash and thought maybe it could lead with some thing. I mean, I honestly wouldn't mind Iris catching a Dragonite if done right, it was caught last minute before the tournament I would have loved it if it evolved into a Dragonite and she had the thing a while back, just seemed like a well.
Yah, calling Ash a kid I was trying to let go but than the rest followed.
I don't know I'm still trying to give her chances.
Well, as long as Ash uses Snivy and learns a new move and gets the entire episode pretty much I'll be happy.

Hot dang, at least Ash knows about the league. Now all we need to know is whenever Ash does his training for it.
Snivy really needed an episode though, hopefully it will be more about her and learning a new attack.

You can dislike certain aspects of each character and still like them overall.
I don't think that's true. For example, I know someone who loathes one of Ash's previous female companions. And I really mean loathes. Like, thers's no middle ground with this person. He just hates this character for no reason other than the fact that she exists.
But to be honest, we didn't see much Iris hate until the Dragonite thing. So I think it's safe to say that Dragonite's capture really hurt Iris more than anything. And the irony here is that most people wouldn't have complained if someone else had captured Dragonite.
Oops. I guess the people who hate Emolga are gonna be upset. And here they thought Snivy was getting all the development. I guess they were wrong, but I have to admit that I had a feeling this would happen. Oh well. I'll wait and see where this is leading.

I wish Snivy and Emolga would get an episode for themself, what is this? The rejected Pokemon episodes? Pokemon people feel sorry for them and decide to stick them in the same episode for the heck of to finally give them some thing?
