Oh no... it's okay. I've done Google searches for medical things before. (Catheters... *shudders*) I swear, the pictures I've seen... it's like porn for doctors O_o.

For goodness sake, they don't shove the speculum in there. It's on the outside to hold things open. The only thing that goes jnside is a cotton tipped swab. It's basically an extra long Q tip. Being a virgin makes no difference. It doesn't hurt. It's really kind of sad that young women don't know what these procedures are all about. They're very important health screenings and it doesn't matter if you're "clean" or even if you're not sexually active. They're primarily for cervical cancer screening.

This thread has some weird and ignorant conversation...

And... I guess I'll go ahead and say this, even though I wouldn't say it's completely unique, but it looks like I have an irregular menstrual cycle. I'm not entirely sure why at this point. It could be lack of certain vitamins or something (websites say it's most likely this), but I've been aware of this for a good few years now. There are months where I'll have my cycle, and then two weeks later it starts up again (in the same freaking month, too), and then I don't get my next cycle for a whole entire month.

Yeah, I think I should go to a doctor about this, but I've been trying to avoid doctors since I turned 18. I hear they start doing more things when you become an adult. I read something there's a recommendation for women of a certain age to get themselves checked for... something... I don't remember. It either involves breast cancer, or the genitalia, but I don't want doctors poking me when it comes to stuff like that. So...
    Yup, called a Pap Smear

I went with my fiance a few month's ago to get her's and apparently it's not awesome, but apparently it's a smart thing to do after you reach 21. They do it to check for abnormal cells in the cervix, or so I've read. Turns out my fiance had abnormal cells but they ended up being completely harmless. She took this vitamin for a few weeks to help the doctors see the cells better, and on her next visit they told her that she was completely fine. I'll be honest, we we're somewhat uneasy for a few weeks but after the results came back the second time we felt alot better. Now she has a scheduled appointment yearly just in case. and btw, it sucks for females for all the crazy **** they have to go through with their genitalia compared to men. After living with my fiance for the last two years I have a firm appreciation for how much you all have to go through sometimes

I can't imagine it would be very appealing to have a pap smear, but my fiance thinks of it as the same reason why I own a handgun for home defense. Rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

Ah, that was the cancer I was trying to remember.

But the "holding things open" comment made me cringe a little... still not willing to go get such a check-up... nope...

    ...

I wonder if I'm rather self-conscious about things like that. Then again, it could be because I'm just really sensitive to touch, and just the thought of check-ups like that makes me a little uncomfortable.

Conversations are weird because we're weird. That's the only other explanation 8D.

It's honestly not a big deal. And it's kind of silly to be worried about going to the doctor about your irregular cycle. They're not going to do a pap smear to check on that. I'm assuming you're young: late teens/early twenties? It's really common for young women to have irregular cycles because it takes time for the body to regulate it on its own. Obviously your doctor is the only one who could give you an accurate diagnosis but it won't involve anything invasive (unless blood tests are needed but that's hardly invasive).

Weirdness accounts for your uniqueness, I believe. No one is truly normal, nope.

XD I'm sorry. That's the Internet for you. You'll get used to it, though. Stuff like this makes me giggle over time, don't know if it's the same with you, or anyone else or what. But yeah, you can tell this is Miscellaneous.

Yeah, I'm twenty, but I read in a few articles that when you first get your period, it's normal for it to be irregular for the first couple of years. It should've settled itself out by now, so it's naturally worrying me, especially since I want children one day. I'm pretty sure I'm lacking in some minerals (or I'm low on iron), but yeah... I mentioned it to Mom once as casual talk, but she hasn't suggested seeing a doctor (then again, that was a few years ago). Some women just get the unfortunate irregular periods, whether naturally or otherwise.

If you're concerned, see your doctor. There's really no sense in self-diagnosing via the internet because you're not a professional. And if you want kids, I don't know why you'd be afraid of getting adult wellness checkups. That cotton swab is a hell of a lot smaller than anything else that's going to go through there. I can understand being shy but being afraid it would hurt because you're a virgin makes no sense.

Well, now that I think about it, if it's just a cotton swab, I'm more or less going to fidget a lot (though maybe not as bad as getting my eyes dilated, I have to sit on my hands every time). I'm pretty small and sensitive to touch, so I guess that's what I'm more worried about, next to the fact I really don't want people, even doctors, to look at me down there. It could be from how I was raised or what, not sure, but yeah...

(Yeah, you can tell I'm not being persuaded easily here xD. I get what you're saying, but my mind's a hard mind to make up, really.)

I have that too. Sometimes I don't think it's a dream, I see it as Future Sight.

Yep that's it, I've had it happen COUNTLESS times I've had a dream the month or year before and then it happens, I actually saw in a dream black and white 1 before it was announced anywhere but I didn't believe it until I saw it myself, I've had dreams about my "past lives" as well

I think something unique about me would be my ability to lucid dream, but I seem to have lost some of it due to regulating my sleep cycle for school xP

I wish I could lucid dream. Every time I go on the Dream thread and someone mentions a lucid dream, I am just amazed at what they could do with their dreams. There are exercises that increases your chances of lucid dreaming, I just haven't done them yet. And even then, I don't know if I will be able to lucid dream.

I like my weird, nonsensical dreams anyway. Don't think I could make it weirder on my own... I think.

Depends on what you can come up with x]
It was hard for me at first. I did all sorts of stuff, like saying "I will have a lucid dream tonight" and other weird methods. The wierdest method I've done would have to be the WILD Method. I had to stay conscious through sleep paralysis, which I've been having a lot of lately. I can't seem to stay awake through them though. ( The myths i read on sleep paralysis is pretty creepy too o.o ) I lost my skills Dx

Ooooohh.. my brother is (or was) trying to lucid dream before. He would try different methods to do so and write down everything that would happen in his dreams :P He got a lot of Sleep Paralysis though <.> XD

I can juggle up to three objects effortlessly.

Other than that...drawing I guess? Although it's not THAT unique...
