    You don't say.

Ghost has only two weaknesses, it do works as a defensive type.
I am talking about the type itself, not about the stats of the Pokémon of this type.

But you must take into consideration that stats affect the outcome of the battle do they not?

Ive never had problems with using a Grass Type... probably because a lot of Grass Types are dual typed.

Grass is niche defensive because of Earthquake and Thunderbolt resists.

So Sableye, Spiritomb, 4th Gen Rotom appliances, Golurk, and Jellicent are pure offensive now? Cool story bro.

Considering the type only has fourteen fully evolved non-legendaries to begin with, I'd say six pure defensive 'mons and a couple of tanks is enough to call it balanced.

Yes, stats do have an effect on battle. That's not what this is about. It's about typings.

Grass isn't offensive, yeah, but resisting two common moves doesn't automatically make the actual type defensive.

Given the two types' moves, I would say that Grass and Poison are more annoyer types than defensive types. I'd say that Steel is pretty defensive because of its type resistances.

    Of course.
The stats are as important as the types/type match ups...

But the people here were discussing about the Grass type itself...
If you consider stats and other aspects, we have a good amount of interesting Pokémon with the type.

It is you, it is you, it is all for you.

Hence the "niche" in "niche defensive."

Actually, now that I think about it, does it find itself on the defensive side of the spectrum more so because of its resists, or more so because of the success of the Pokémon that can put these resistances to good use?

Is "it" referring to the typing, or the Pokemon of the typing? I would say the typing is successful because of its resists, and the Pokemon because of both their typing and their stat distribution/movepools.

I meant "it" as in the Grass type. But you gave an answer to the question anyway, with which I agree. (:

I don't think Grass is the worst type to be honest. If you look at common elements, it does resist water and electric moves. And most are dual types, so they get the added benefits (negatives) of another type. Poison is probably a type I would consider worse than Grass. As for the starters, I actually think they made their Grass types quite appealing.

Grass isn't bad. It just needs help, either through dual typing or support pokemon. I'm not a big fan of them myself cause I like my pokemon to be straightforward battlers, and grass pokemon usually aren't.

a few that I do like:

Gamefreak needs to look at the type matchup list again and make some more sensible decisions about what types are weak to poison.

So your saying Ferrothorn, Abomasnow, Amoongus, , Venasaur, Virizion, Breloom, and Cradily are bad?

This little Tepig was revealed in 2010. This little Tepig was loved. This little Tepig wanted to evolve. This little Tepig wished he wasn't Fire/Fighting. This little Tepig decided to infect the entire Tepig population to evolve into another Fire/Fighting Pokémon while saying "Accept what we offer you".
