i looked at the summary and it says

"animated tv seris based on smash nintendo game!! "

there was no seris title like.... for example Pokemon:blackandwhite or diamond and pearl

It's been a while, last time I saw the original season on TV was about '03 if I remember right. I'll watch it for nostalgia sake, it'll bring back memories.

Neat, the original series was my favorite!

...But why are you making a thread about it?

@ Cybercubed, no, the UK doesn’t have any DVD's of the TV show. TV show wise, all we got was the first 30 episodes of Season 1 released on VHS by Warner Bros, after about 2001 they stopped printing them and no further volumes were released. A further three episodes of Season 1 were bundled with Mewtwo Returns in a VHS box set but that was it.

The UK tends to get the movies now DVD wise though it’s been at bit patchy starting with Movies 1, 2 and 3 from WB, then 4 & 5 from Buena Vista - Disney & Miramax - later re-released by Studio Canal on DVD & Blu Ray in 2012, 6 from Paramount Films, 7 from Studio Canal - this movie wasn't released until early 2012 and ironically that’s seven years after the films US release, 8 & 9 have not yet seen a DVD release yet but they have been aired on CITV and CN.

As far as I know, the 10th Anniversary Special has not seen the light of day in the UK, and personally I'm glad it hasn't given how poorly received it was in the US, though no doubt that CITV will air it at some point.

Movie 10 was released by Network DVD in 2007 who had at the time formed a partnership with Pokémon UK to release all seasons and movies both past and present (initially Season 1 & 10 on box set) but this was subsequently lost when Pokémon UK merged with Pokémon USA a few years back so they are now not releasing anymore Pokémon DVD's other than Movie 10.

I can't blame them really since they mainly specialised in releasing classic television shows that mainly aired on ITV in the UK.

Things went quiet then until Movie 13 was aired on CITV, then Universal released it on DVD, later picking up 11 & 12 after they subsequently aired on CITV as well. It seems that Universal has got the license for the movies now as they also released 14 on a 2 Disc DVD Set after again airing on CITV this year.

As far as this listing is concerned, I’m not getting my hopes up because I once checked UK TV Guide before it went “Subscription Only” and “Pokémon” was listed once but as the week came up my TV’s EPG listed it as DP and plus I don’t really bother now with trying to catch up on TV.

I know that I probably should support it but I have just found it easier now to import the Australian sets and I now own Seasons 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 14. Season 1 is being imported from Viz because I already got their Season 2 set the year it was released and I’ve also got the second half of Season 5 which I chose for Christmas a few years back.

Movie wise I have got all the UK releases apart from 8, 9, 11, 12 & 13 since I recorded them.

I know that I have stated this numerous times before but if there is anyone interested in the Australian DVD’s then head over to www.musicshop.com.au and you’ll find them there, prices vary because of exchange rates. You get a good service and they take major credit and debit cards plus Pay Pal.

N.B. they may be PAL but are encoded for Region 4 so they won’t work on Region 2 so you may have to download VLC Media Player or change the region code on your PC permanently. If all else fails you’ll have to get yourself a multi region DVD player.
