This is why I never I was a true fan of any of the starters from the beginning. I like other pokemon more than them because people used to make it like they were closed to legendaries. Legendaires should be more popular than all starters combined. However, I do think that Charizard and Oshawott has about the same number of fans.

I agree. I don't know if Oshawott is selling as well as Piplup did in the merchandise (probably not) but he is probably doing very well.

basically, in Japan Piplup is the most popular starter of all times. Except perhaps Bulbasaur and Squirtle in the late 1990s.

Uh asides from the Dub voice complaint which I consider only half true I fail to see any of Piplup's complaints as anything other than jealousy from Pikachu stans that their beloved mascot finally had to share.

Its only because none of the others are on the show. If ash had charizard on dawn stayed on as a main cast it would t be nearly as popular.

I think Oshawott is extremely popular among young children but less popular among older people.

In other words, I think what Pokemaniac24 asks depends on point of view. From young kids point of view MAYBE Oshawott is the most popular starter in anime since Charizard, but propably not from older people's point of view.
