We have all had them at least once. I'm talking about that one part of that one game that took sooooooooooooooo many tries to complete. Maybe you were trying the game on insane mode, maybe you couldn't figure out a trick. Post it here!
I am replaying Mass Effect 2, so I can update my imported information for the next game. My first play through I just started with the random game play, so I could just see how the game was. There is this point where two characters get in a fight. If you don't accumulate the right amount of good or bad points, (in my case I was going Paragon.) I got the extra option to settle the fight and keep both of them loyal. I then started a new game that was from an imported profile and happened upon the same instance. I failed miserably and haven't been able to figure out what the heck I need to do to get it right.
I just now got it lol. Yay for me!
The first thing that comes to mind is from Armored Core: Project Phantasma back on PS1. I'd fought the final boss, Phantasma, a ton of times, but got wiped out every time. I eventually was able to advance far enough in the Arena (the battle with Phantasma is a mission) that I was awarded with some new weapons, namely, some large grenade firing arms, and was finely able to take him down.
Another is from Sonic 2, back on Sega. I'd been able to get to the final level and defeat the first mech, but couldn't even touch Robotnick's final machine. Eventually, technology progressed, and I moved on to different video games, figuring I'd never get the oppurtunity to finish the game. However, a few years ago, I came across a Sonic collection for the DS including Sonic 2, and was finally able to take him out.

Insane difficulty is not the title of the hardest difficulty level in either Call of Duty or Halo. They are Veteran and Legendary respectively. Insane difficulty is from Gears of War. C'mon, surely you read what difficulty level it was on when you were selecting it right?
