Ps2 won't recognize my Ps1 memory cards, any help?

I have the original (bulky or fat) ps2, that has always recognized my Ps1 memory cards, up until a few days back. I have tried 4 different Ps1 memory cards, my Ps2 recognize none of them.
I have a Ps1 at my dad's home, and it recognizes every one of the 4.
Is it possible to make Ps2 recognize the Ps1 memory cards again?

What do you mean by "doesn't accept"? As in it says there is no memory card inserted or it won't let you use it?

Oh, sorry about that. Yes, it doesn't recognize them at all, only says "no memory card inserted" when I plug one of the Ps1 memory cards in.

That is kinda strange. PS2 hardware is very outdated, but it does sound like a hardware problem. Good luck getting a fix for that.

The best option is to get a PS1 as repairing the thing might actually cost more than just buying an old PsOne.
