Not really !
A truly Strong trainer would already have beaten Trip with new Pokemon.
I mean , Can you even imagine Paul And Torterra losing to Trip 3 time in a row even with new Pokemon.
The fact that Ash took this long to beat him and Still straggling mean Ash is not Strong/Worthy to win the Unova League.
Now I'm not sure if Ash wealthy to be a Champion/Pokemon Master !

I only bought Paul as a example that Ash doesn't deserve to be inferior to Trip .
But Since those Writer did that , They destroyed the thing Pokemon stand for.
I don't think Ash will ever able to redeem himself after this.
Even winning the Unova League isn't enough.

This may mean less battles, and possibly less episodes of the Unova League, which would be a tad bit disappointing for me. Leagues are generally 6-7 episodes long (not including intro eps like with the whole torch bearer thing), but I'm hoping that it might be longer this time.

It may be shorter because the writers only have to showcase Ash's 9 Unova Pokemon.

Granted the Hoenn league had his pokemon used multiple times, but I get the feeling this time each Unova Poke is only going to be used once.

Hopefully we get action packed 2 and 3 parter fights for all. But this is BW so there's no point hoping.

Wow, never expected Ash vs. Trip in the earlier rounds. Here's my guess for the rundown of how the league might work:

Unova League Begins: 1 vs. 1 preliminaries, meeting the rivals, opening ceremony, one episode
Ash vs. Trip: 3 vs. 3, one episode
Bianca vs. Stephan, Ash vs. Kotetsu: 3 vs. 3, one and a half episode
Ash vs. Bianca: 6 vs 6. one and a half episode
Ash vs. Virgil: 6 vs. 6, closing ceremony finale, one (maybe two) episodes

So maybe we'll get around 6-7 episodes which is usual for the league. If the Unova League plays out like the scenario above it actually reminds me of how long the Hoenn league ran for. The league could also be shorter depending on how the battles are paced. Maybe like 5 episodes.

As for the winner of the league. Well, I'd like to guess between Ash or Virgil. Virgil conveniently showing up right before the league (even later that Kotetsu) just makes me think that he might be the one to beat. Especially with his team of Eeveelutions. Looking back, Ash's last opponents always had some sort of gimmick or something special to their team:

Richie: Similar pokemon to Ash
Harrison: New gen pokemon, Blaziken and Kecleon
Tyson: Meowth in Boots
Tobias: Legendaries

So maybe Virgil can be that one trainer Ash has to face last?

I'm hoping to see these matchups, at least for Ash's potential opponents:

Does anyone have an idea why they sending Trip out this early? Are they trying something new or are they planning something big in the filler saga that will involve Trip? It seems pretty strange that they would send Trip off this way. Losing in the first round with his head down. I know he's a beginning trainer but beginning trainers have made it far in the League before. What's going on?

It could be there mixing things up, or there's something post league. Heck it could even mean Ash is going out in the round after.
