I have 88 medals now and I'm more focused in the PWT and Join Avenue.

Maybe I'll try a league challenge with Monotypes.

exactly what I did using a Gallade

The medals are definetley a great addition to the game. They make it much longer and slightly more challenging. So far I'm up to 43 medals, once I've made a dent in the Pokemon World Tournament I'll start collecting them properly.

The only medal that caused me trouble (so far) was the "One and Only". I eventually managed to accomplish this though with a Level 78 Lucario (it didn't have any items or wasn't altered by Natures/EVs/IVs) on my first run through i.e. Pre National Dex.
    -Aura Sphere to defeat Grimsley
    -Psychic to defeat Marshall
-Dark Pulse to defeat Shauntal and Caitlin
    -Dragon Pulse to defeat Iris.

I suppose it depends on whether you wish to challenge yourself or not. I tried it on Black 2 before with a Level 100 EV trained Charizard, Post National Dex and it was a little bit of a struggle. (I still managed to do it though)

    Adamant
    Ice Punch
    Night Slash
    Drain Punch
    Psycho Cut

I think this would work much better as Lucario is weak to fighting and Marshal's Sawk has Sturdy and Close Combat meaning youll get wiped out pretty easy. Got the first 2 link battle medals by battling in the Tournament got about 180 medals now

The Rail enthusiast is a pain. I got all train descriptions except one which he never mentions at all. Even after 2 weeks of daily train talk, he still never mentions the final train I need for that dang medal.

You can't even soft-reset new trains too

I think the future train only appears on specific dates, because I've had every single other train appear multiple times now.

At least it knows Superpower. And you can get BW1 exclusives on BW2, provided you get them on the demo first :p
We're nothing more than concreteness victims trapped into our limits
Blind beliefs that lead us: "Trust in what we can perceive with senses".
Thousands minds that reflect our tendency to flatten layers of knowledge,
demonstrating that we're just wasting our time.
Look above us, sky is just a fragment and shows us how we're nothing more than ants.
Human weakness is what we hide, overwhelming celebration of our fault .
Entwined with our fears of being in your hands, we're deaf to the universe that guides us.
How can we enhance our thin perception of every small wonder hiding behind simple shapes?

the trades occur in the order listed here you can make all the set up calls in one day then wait one day after the 50th repeat daily until you get the Pokemon you desire

Serebii really needs to update this page because I (and many other people) have been able to trade with as few as 30 calls

That's probably a better option. Lucario was the first that came to my mind and as you said it did indeed have a few problems with Sawk and Sturdy/Close Combat/Full Restore

The Medal System is the only disappointing aspect of the first two gyms journey. It's corny, pointless, boring, and totally unneeded. Nintendo, if you're reading this, and are thinking about gen 6, cross the medal system off your list of gen 6 ideas.

I don't understand why someone would complain about the medal system when you're not even required to use it...
