Name: Kareena Aslantin
Race: Wind Half-Gaian
Skills/Weapons/Powers: Kareena, as a Half-Gaian, is a skilled Elementalist; she can summon winds of differing intensity by gathering strength into her wand, from gentle breezes to gales strong enough to break boughs off trees - the more powerful the winds are, the more energy she will need. She is also able to summon balls of concentrated air, which explode upon impact, sending out a force wave. She can use an alternate form of this magic, which replaces air with water instead; however, it is slower moving, and hard to create, though it deals more damage. She is currently working on a new spell that will allow her to unleash a huge wall of water and send it cascading into her opponent, but she isn't anywhere near perfecting it yet, though she can send a stream of fresh water flying into the air.
As well as being an Elementalist, Kareena is also a Cleric-in-training, but as of now she only has the ability to gather energy from water to heal minor wounds.
Because her mother was based on a swan, a semi-aquatic animal, she inherited some of her natural abilities and can hold her breath underwater for extended periods of time, and is an excellent swimmer. She does not need a specific gem to do this. To use magic, Kareena carries a foot-long silver wand encrusted with one grey gem, one blue gem and one green gem at the hilt.
Description: Although she's only a Half-Gaian, Kareena is fairly short; she stands at about 150cm, and has a skinny figure, which leads to some people even mistaking her for a 12-year-old (much to her dismay). She has pale skin, due to her coming from the northern parts of Aradis and thus not receiving much sunlight. Her face is heart-shaped, and her eyes, in contrast to her generally pale and fragile exterior, is a bright, witchy green. She has long, straight, platinum-blonde hair, which frame her face nicely and come down to her waist, but she usually keeps it tied back in a ponytail to stop it from getting in her way with a silvery hair ribbon. A trait that, though subtle, gives away her status as a Half-Gaian, is that she has tufts of white feathers growing on her forehead, as well as a sharp nose which looks vaguely like a swan's beak.
As she comes from the colder regions of Aradis, Kareena has a love for fur and mink; her favourite outfit consists of a white, long-sleeved knitted sweater with a fur-trimmed, ivory-coloured cloak on top, a sky-blue skirt which is also fur-trimmed, black rights underneath, and boots entirely made out of mink fur, with furry bobbles hanging from the sides. When the weather is especially cold, Kareena wears a snowy white fur cap and a matching scarf to be warmer. Kareena also wears a necklace with the feather of a swan attached to it as a token of her heritage.
Personality: Kareena is somewhat of a three-way cross between a girly girl, a bookworm, and a downright tomboy. Her mood and personality tends to change with the time of the year, the time of the day, and current affairs going on around her. However, one trait that never leaves her is her constant optimism; no matter what the situation, Kareena always believes that there will be a happy outcome, even if the odds are very against it. She hates to see people being pessimistic, and is always eager to cheer up others feeling depressed and plant hope into their minds. It would just be easier to say that her mind is centered around one simple thought - that everyone deserves to be happy, and be able to live their life to its fullest. However, she tends to get shy around strangers due to her limited social skills, and even though she becomes more talkative when you get to know her well, and she has had more practice in talking to people than before, she is still reluctant when approaching people she doesn't know.
Kareena's princess-y traits usually show up in the spring. When she was younger, she used to be much more feminine, enjoying imaginary tea parties with her dolls and treating her teddy bears at the imaginary vets in a glittery princess costume, and some of those tendencies have survived to the present day despite the fact that she's now technically a full-grown adult. She still has a fondness for teddy bears and enjoys collecting them, having a collection of about a hundred bears in her room, all in different shapes and sizes - some of them are even from her babyhood. She also has a keen interest in fashion, and though she doesn't keep up with fashion trends, is still very self-conscious of herself. She has a bad habit of freaking out whenever she finds out that her hair hasn't been combed frequently, or that her fur cap is lopsided, though these occasions are thankfully uncommon.
Kareena is also a very bookish person, especially in winter when it is especially cold. However, her bookish side never surfaces very often when she is around others, but she is very intelligent and quick-thinking behind her cheerful self, having inherited her father's wits. But the most dominant side of her personality is definitely her tomboyish side; this trait is in place almost all through the year, and usually she is bursting with energy, eager to go on a daring adventure into the wilderness of the northern tundras or something that sounds dramatic like that. She has amazing athletic abilities, and has very quick reflexes. Despite her knowing better, however, she is very impatient, and has a bad habit of charging into fights recklessly. Kareena is also a very independent person, who doesn't like relying on others for help and likes doing things her own way, making her almost stubborn, and she definitely doesn't let any men try to woo her - a good blast of wind will make sure that people don't try.
History: Kareena is the daughter of the Baron of Arcanic, better known by the locals as the richest man in town. She had a very privileged upbringing, mainly due to her father's immense wealth and influence; private tutors taught her all she needed to know about the world and many other things along with elemental magic. She showed high potential as a skilled wizard from an early age, and her father therefore encouraged her to study the arts of elemental magic in the hopes that she would take after her deceased mother, who had been an excellent Wind Elementalist.
Although her magical abilities exceeded expectations, and she led a generally happy and spoilt lifestyle, Kareena was still often lonely, as there weren't many children of her age around her who were from families as rich as hers, or had a personality as girly yet tomboyish as hers - no one really seemed to be a good match for her. So her childhood days were often spent alone, with her regularly playing with her dolls, reading entertaining storybooks, or just playing out in the garden. It was by browsing the library she found out about the existence of Divine Gems; enraged that none of her tutors had ever mentioned the subject, she forced them to tell her everything they knew about them, and so young Kareena's fascination with Divine Gems started, never to wane.
After she entered adolescence, she trained hard everyday and practiced her magical powers, with the hope that one day there would be a chance for her to go on an adventure to find these Divine Gems - she also took up healing as a secondary interest, and began training herself in healing magic using books and notes from the family archive as a source of her knowledge. Being aware of Kareena's desire to go on a Divine Gem-hunting quest, when her father first heard of the parliament-run expedition, he contacted the officials immediately and persuaded them to take Kareena along with them - even though they were worried about her being underage, they still gave in, and hired Kareena at the recommendation of her tutors.
(I hope I didn't overpower her or anything, or I made her into a Mary Sue... It's been a long time since I've created a full character like this.)
