Technically, "EU" is anything that isn't in one of Episodes I-VI proper, to varying extents. These will be new films continuing the existing film canon, which constitute the highest level of canon.

Again, possibility does not equate to plausibility in the slightest.
So did lucas have more to the original film canon after VI? They can't use Vader as the villain, and the emperor doesn't come back as a clone until later, so I am failing to see who they could use as a main villain.

According to him, no, but that soundbite is four years old at this point, and given that these new films are on their way, clearly that's no longer the case, if it was ever the case at all.

I don't know what sort of conflict and villains they're going to introduce in this new trilogy either. But that's okay, because neither of us are responsible for writing any of the scripts. Or I'm not, at least - I don't know your deepest inner secrets.

There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in our philosphy - that we ("we" being random fans on the Internet) don't know what direction they'll take the films by no means has any effect on their efforts to plot and script these new films. Certainly you agree, yes?

Yeah. Especially since he's changed his mind on the number of movies he wants every half a decade.

Has anyone read the Star Wars books called Shatterpoint?

I read that book a couple of days ago and it was awesome, definitely one of the best Star Wars books.

I think it's a really dark book with many great character, like Mace and Nick. And I think that book really makes Mace Windu a deep character.

Too bad I haven't read those.
Did you like Legacy of the jedi and the Last of the jedi books?
If yes, I recommend Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest books. They're great and Jude Watson has wrote those books as well.

    Yeah I liked them.
Last of the jedi is in between 3 and 4 and is about a jedi named ferrus looking for jedi that survived order 66.

Legacy of the jedi is kinnda short but good:
The first part is dooku as a padawan, then dooku with qoi-gon as a padawan, then qoi-gon with obi-wan as a padawan, then finally obi-wan with anakin as a padawan.
In all of them they are against a guy named lorian (who was one of dooku’s friends a a padawan, but he got expelled from the jedi order cuz he stole a sith holocron)

I've just read so many that I feel there are better choices. Many books in the New Jedi Order series (series with the Yuuzhan Vong as the enemy) I would say are better for example.

Too bad I haven't read any New Jedi Order books. I'm sure I'll read them one day, but next Star Wars books I'm going to read are propably Darth Bane books.

Yeah I know. It has 19 novels.
Also, do you still like Shatterpoint, even if it's not one of your favourites?

Has anyone here read “young jedi knights”?
It is my favorite SW book series, I rented them from the library but on my kindle they only have the german version (idk why)
It is about lukes jedi academy, and han and leia’s kids…who are training to become jedi’s.

Yeah. The series could be a bit slow at times, and it was a lot darker than previous books, but it was good. Have yet to read any fate of the jedi books.

that is completely how I feel about Legacy of the Force. Fate of the Jedi continues with the dark theme, in places it way darker. Actually the whole series is like that but it is really good and really expands on a lot of cool aspects.

If you do decided to read Fate of the Jedi, be sure to read the Lost Tribe of the Sith mini books.
