    POKéMON TRAINERS WANTED!

For the past several days the ancient Isle of Talas has experienced a bizarre series of unexplained psychic events finally resulting in the largest sandstorm ever recorded in the land's history which has unearthed the remains of an ancient city inhabited by what scientists believe to be the rarely ever sighted Unown Pokémon.

Very protective of their ruined city, the Unown are making it difficult for archaeologists and scientists alike to access the area to study the Pokémon themselves or the inscriptions left behind by an ancient race of humans who appear to have lived in harmony with these mysterious Pokémon.

Most disturbingly, another psychic sandstorm, even larger than the one that has unearthed these ancient ruins, is on its way and expected to bury the city within 24 hours. Leaders of the academic world are calling upon Pokémon trainers in the vicinity to help capture all forms of Unown before the city is lost forever!
Melissa trudged through the sand, her faithful starter peeking out from where he hid inside her windbreaker and her second-longest partner walking alongside her. The moment she'd heard about the ruins and the urgent need for Pokemon trainers, she'd decided this was somewhere she had to visit. After all, how often did ruins like these pop up out of the blue and give her an opportunity for an adventure outside of the normal zones? Not to say she didn't appreciate having the other places to go, but she knew they'd still be there, while this one had a time limit placed upon it; it made the possible adventure that much more exciting. Besides, this gave her a good opportunity to adventure with Mar, her Aron, who, although he was her second-longest party member, she hadn't really had a chance to adventure with yet.

She glanced at said Aron as he walked alongside her through the sand. He didn't seem to be having as much trouble finding his footing as she did, but she could tell he wasn't very happy about all the sand everywhere. Turning to look ahead, she grinned at the sight of the approaching ruins.

"We're almost there, Wildfire, Mar," she told her Cyndaquil and Aron, respectively. Though it was an unnecessary observation, they both made noises of agreement. They too were interested to see what the ruins had to offer. "Hopefully, we'll stumble across some of those Unown before we have to leave." She shaded her eyes as she looked at the ruins, before grinning down at her Aron. "C'mon, Mar. Let's go find some living hieroglyphics." And she took off towards the ruins with her Aron following after a moment of surprise. She couldn't wait to see what she'd find.

Scott came Flying in, dangling by the leg of his Togetic, Angela. Deciding this was a good way to test her newfound wings since evolving after many trips to the Beauty Salon. He had no idea how such a small Pokemon could carry a young adult male and his bag, as it seemed to defy the laws of physics. However, he thought it better not to question it, if it meant having an easy means of transportation. Even if the only thing keeping him from plummeting down to earth, was his sweaty palm hanging on to a Togetic's tiny foot.

Due to Angela's Serene Grace, she was still a smooth flyer, despite the extra weight, and not having all that much experience flying. So the trip was relatively turbulence free. Even if it was rather frightening for Scott being up that high. The boy look relieved when they reached their destination, Scott pointed out a safe place to land. Angela nodded, and made her descent.

Once they landed, Scott let go of Angela's foot, dusted himself off, and caught his breath. "Let's never do that again!" Regretting his means of getting here.

"Toge..." Angela said as she smiled and rubbed the back of her head, looking a little embarrassed.

After Scott calmed down a bit, he took a look around. "Anyway, here it is, the city of Alph. Huh, all I see is a bunch of sand..." He decided to come here after getting his hands on a flyer that requested the aid of Pokemon Trainers. And since he was a Pokemon Trainer, he had to lend his assistance. It wouldn't seem right if he didn't. Of course he didn't bother to read the whole, flyer, so he had no idea what to do next. "Come on, lets move." And with that, he and his Pokemon moved foward. Hoping to find... well, they didn't really know.

This will all be worth the trouble.

He kept repeating that to himself, each step clumsily taken through the hot sands of the talas'sian deserts, each step robbing him of energy. He was never too fond of the hot temperatures; still, once he had heard of the appearance of the elusive Unown, almost legendary in its nature, he couldn't just miss the opportunity (of a lifetime?) of, at least, observe one with his own eyes. Gathering knowledge of the alphabetic pokemon would certainly prove useful in the future - in what way, he could not precise.

Still, walking through the desert wasn't the easiest task to perfom - even more so when his companion pokemon wasn't supporting him at all. Gósth, like most Haunter, was a prankster one; just the fact he could levitate and didn't have to touch the bloody hot sand was annoying enough, but no, that wasn't enough - no, he had to show off a tad more. Besides phasing through him several times, the juggling of his body-free hands were the most annoying, trying to make his trainer trip and performing many other shenanigans.

He was the ideal pokemon to use on the Lost City of Alph though - his use of Hypnosis could prove vital in case they spotted a Unown. The type advantage would also prove advantageous, he hoped. So, he gulped down what seemed to him the very last bit of saliva he had in his body, and continued marching forward, hoping to reach the ruins in time.

This will all be worth the trouble.

At the time the news broke that a huge sandstorm uncovered ruins that were inhabited by the pokemon Unown, Alex was doing some research of his own in the biggest library on the island. Research was important, but the stories were that soon an even bigger sandstorm would strike. There was a limited amount of time to get there, so in the name of researchers everywhere, he headed out into the desert. He had been around long enough to know to buy supplies before heading out. Fortunately, the majority of his pokemon resisted sandstorms, so they wouldn't have much of a problem. It would be a good change to show off some his newer team members.

The Unown were an interesting species. Practically useless when on their own, but their powers grow exponentally when in groups. There are even some theories that they have connections to the legendary pokemon. Whatever the case, they were rare and this would be one of the few times when he could study them, maybe even catch them. Who knew what he could discover from the Unown? This was a once in a lifetime chance, there was no way he wasn't getting in on the action.

Pokémon Trainers wanted to explore the lost city of Alph. Joshua knew of ruins that existed in Johto, Sinnoh and Kanto that were similar. A new civilisation dedicated to the Unown - this was a huge discovery! And now he had a chance to participate in the excavation. With Steven the Munna by his side (he figured that he would be a useful weapon against the Psychic-type Unown in the ruins), Joshua had landed on the Isle of Talas earlier that morning. Plane tickets were so costly though. Still, soon he'd have two badass Flying Pokémon ready to cart him about at the very least.

The aftermath of the psychic sandstorm that had unearthed the city was obvious, as a stray gust whipped up some nasty sand and grit into Joshua's eyes. Jo, feel power here. More psychic. Strong psychic.

"Yes, I know. Time to explore this place is running thin before another sandstorm - we'd better be quick my friend."

Not just sand... Feel Pokémon too. Lots Pokémon.

"Ah, the Unown themselves. Such strange Pokémon... This is a golden opportunity Steven. Let's go!" he yelled excitedly, brushing the sand out of his eyes and racing ahead into the city. The Munna let out a small sigh and followed as quickly as he could.

"I'm already starting to regret this decision...", Katsura groaned, as he slowly trudged towards the ruins in the distance, holding his jacket over his head in an effort to block out some of the sun's rays. While he was accustomed to hot weather, hot and dry weather was proving to be something else entirely to him.

He had noticed a flier back in town mentioning the appearance of an ancient city following a massive sandstorm; a city said to be home to Unown, a species of Pokemon he knew well of for their ties to many of the world's mysteries. The thought of getting to see such Pokemon had intrigued him, as did the prospect of seeing structures that may very well have been untouched by man for centuries or even millenniums. However, he hadn't put nearly as much thought into the harsh conditions and dangers he would likely face on the journey...

For once, Kiba wasn't with him. Katsura knew that the Electrike loathed being hot, so he had decided to let a Pokemon more suited for the desert environment accompany him today; his little Gible, Tia. She had been leading the way at a leisurely pace, though the following Katsura's remark, she stopped and gave him a concerned look.

"I'll be fine, Tia.", he said in response. "I just didn't think that this heat would be so much worse then what I put up with back home. In any case, we're already over halfway there, so there's no sense in turning back now."

With that, the two of them continued on their way...

"Well that was a bust," Charm explaimed. Trudding along the sandy paths with a like-minded Combusken, Apollo, by his side. "That Charmeleon in the Southern Pyramid ended up being so strong that we had to make a break for it." Apollo crowed in disagreement, not accepting the cowardice explanation.

"... Yeah, you're right. But it was freakin' CHARMELEON! You know that's one of my favorite Pokemon, how could I possibly concentrate on battling it when all I'd want to do is catch it?!" Apollo stayed silent, not like he could talk anyway, but he knew Charm better than anyone else; there's no arguing with him when it concerns his love for Fire-type Pokemon.

"Anyways, what's done is done." They continued walking for an hour until they came across an ancient looking city. "So this is the supposedly new city that's full of those Unowns," he remarked. He looked across the old and worn out buildings and the dozens of trainers running through the streets to capture the Unowns. "Apparently this place won't be here for long, so let's grab one of these Unowns while we can before these other trainers take them all!" The duo sprint off with newfound energy, awaiting any Unown that dares to come their way.

“For a bug, you’re way too heavy Euen…” James said, tripping over his own shoes. The Shuckle continued to flip the pages of his book on Unown- the more information, the better. “Besides-“ James fell again and picked himself up. “An Unown might be really cool. He could teach you a thing or two about himself, right?” Euen just shook his head as James dropped his backpack into the sand and picked it up quickly, almost spilling the contents. “So, you’re saying you aren’t interested at all?” Another shake of Euen’s head. “Well, fine then. But you and Nevile are the only two who won’t get torn to shreads from this sandstorm, so expect to battle.” The mold pokémon sighed, and WITHDREW into his shell. James let out a sigh and raised the shell of his companion to protect him from the sand storm that was only getting harsher.

“Come and knock on our door.”

Hugo sang, sounding somewhat bored, as he wandered into the Lost City. He looked back at Kingler, almost cuing him to join in. Kingler stares at Hugo blankly.

    “We’ve been waiting for…you!”

    Still nothing from Kingler.

    “Where the…something….something…THREE’S COMPANY, TOO!”

Kingler stops in his tracks, rolling his eyes.

“Look, man, I’m trying to keep us entertained, if you don’t want to join, fine. You don’t have to be a jerk about it.”

Hugo stops, and Kingler meanders up to him. The large crab clicks its massive pincers at different speeds to entertain itself.

“Focus!” Hugo shouted, looking at a map. “Looks like we’re here…now where are the Unown….”

Alph. A city thought to be lost in Talas, it is said none of its inhabitants were even remotely human. They were all supposedly one Pokemon: Unown. Now, Hyrem hadn't thought much about the idea of having an Unown on his team, but since scientists were requesting the aid of any and all trainers to capture them, it wasn't exactly something to pass up. He did need a Pokemon that could withstand the harsh desert, however, but who better to ask than Icarus, his Skarmory? His Steel-typing meant he'd be able to withstand the sandstorms, should they come across any; that wasn't something any of Hyrem's other Pokemon could say about themselves. Plus, he'd be able to Fly Hyrem there, which meant he wouldn't have to walk for miles and miles. Icarus was simply the perfect candidate for this adventure.

And he was excited about it, too. It would be the Skarmory's first real adventure, and if he were to have success here he'd have more than a tall tale to brag to his adoring fans about! "Skaarrrr!" he cawed happily as he soared over the desert carrying his trainer on his back. "Heh, I'll bet you're loving this, huh?" Hyrem asked Icarus. "Skar skar!" he screeched again, nodding to affirm his trainer's remark. "So, according to this map, it shouldn't be long before we're there!" Hyrem said, looking at the parchment everyone was apparently given. "You know, we just might find some other trainers there, maybe even some friends of ours! I can't wait, let's speed up, Ice!"

"Skarrr!" Icarus nodded again before hastening his flight towards the Unown-filled chambers of the City of Alph.

Chad approached the outskirts of the Lost City of Alph. He had never been to this Isle before, so this whole part of Fizzytopia was brand new to him. While his parents had told him many stories of their travels, they never mentioned the Lost City to him. It was a shame they were off exploring the Abundant Shrine in Eastern Unova. He would have enjoyed going on an expedition here with him.

“Koal…” a voice came from behind Chad. It was that of his golden Torkoal who was following behind his trainer. Chad turned around for his chosen partner.

“There you are,” Chad said. “You almost blend in with the sand except for your shell.” Chad looked around. He saw other trainers gathering around to help out. He also noticed that a majority of these trainers had various Ghost Pokemon accompanying them. “Lots of Ghost Pokemon here, Torkoal. Maybe these other trainers were more experienced to know what they’re up against.”

“Tor Koal,” Chad’s Torkoal sounded a little disappointed in himself.

“Don’t worry about it bud,” Chad knelt down beside the Coal Pokemon and pats him on his head and neck. “We’ll be fine. I believe in you. If push comes to shove, I’m sure Shelmet wouldn’t mind getting some battle action.”

Chad stood up and began walking towards the city. “Come on Torkoal. Let’s discover something new!”

The task Myrrh was about to undertake seemed pretty straightforward. He had about 24 hours to try and catch as many Unown as he could so that the scientists and archaeologists could research the ancient city before it is too late, or something like that. He was excited that he had the chance to explore the place and to potentially catch some Unown, but besides the task didn't seem too difficult. The short time limit didn't give him any sense of urgency, he was actually going to try and wing it.

It wasn't until he neared the ancient city that Myrrh had the sense to have one of his pokemon friends out with him.
"Hm, I think I'll use you. Come on out Volts." A blue-striped, white rodent should have appeared, but instead this Pachirisu was all Orange. Volts was raring to go, for Myrrh had told all his pokemon what they were going to do.
"Heh, maybe you need a new nickname to go with your new color Volts. An orange portmanteau....oran-volt, oran-shock.....Er, maybe a naranja one. Naranja-rat....Nara-raton...Naraton!.....these are lame-hey, were are you going!?"

Volts wasn't really paying attention (who could blame him?) and began to make his way to the ancient city. Myrrh quickly followed. Volts should be able to keep Myrrh on track....

Wisps of sand flew through the air as Eric and his Drifloon, Sebastian, trudged across the desert in search of the lost city of Alph. There had been many rumors buzzing across Fizzytopia regarding this ancient city, for it had only recently been discovered after a psychic storm unearthed it from the sand. Unown were said to have made this place their home thousands of years beforehand, interacting regularly with many of the humans of the time period; supposedly, this same breed of Pokémon were now making it difficult for archaeologists to access different areas that make up Alph. A cry for help was issued throughout the Pokémon Centre's of the land, and now Eric found himself on his way to aid in capturing these Pokémon. The arrival of the Unown and the strange psychic events occurring on Talas sparked his interest greatly, and he couldn't help but wonder if these two events were in any way related.

The sun overhead was well into its descent whenever Eric finally caught his first glimpses of the ancient city. "Hey, there it is, Sebastian," Eric called, pointing toward a cluster of buildings that lay a few miles ahead of their current location. "Indeed, we must hurry," the Drifloon's voice echoed into Eric's mind as the ghost Pokémon spoke to him telepathically. Doubling his pace, Eric continued to glance at the sun warily along the way. Supposedly, another psychic storm was headed towards Alph and could potentially bury the city's contents once again. Eric knew what discoveries could be made if the city was examined thoroughly, and was very anxious to help out. Time was of the essence, though, so he urged Sebastian even faster as they continued their trek towards Alph...

Stark stood atop a tall dune and looked out over the ancient city. His trusty Sandshrew Dusty at his side. It had been quite some time since he had been in Talas. The last time happened to be a mix of good and bad considering the ghostly circumstances that surrounded his last visit. Still, when he had been told about the freak sandstorms and the call for trainers by the orphans he had been sponsoring, there was little choice other than to do what he could to help. While archeology was a bit of a hobby of his, he couldn't say he was here to help the researchers. Ancient cities were lost and found all the time. He had experienced a few himself over the years since taking his first steps into the fields surrounding Mediville. No. He was here to help protect those he had come to care about on Talas. If that meant capturing some Unowns to do so then that was what he would do.

The trainer wiped his brow feeling the grit of the sand and dust scrape across his forehead as it turned to mud once mixed with the sweat that had formed there. The desert was never one of his favorite places. Even with his long blond hair pulled back so that only a few strands framed his face it was still warm. His red and black jacket with golden highlights had become as much a burden as it was a fashion statement even with it slung over his shoulder. Not the least of which he should have known better than to wear a black T-shirt and black jeans in such a warm area. All things considered, he was determined to never make these kind of clothing faux paus again. At least that was what he told himself.

Dusty on the other hand seemed to be loving every moment of it. Then again, why wouldn't he? It was definitely his kind of element as evidenced by the way he kept curling up and rolling around in the sand. Not only that, but this was the first real adventure the little guy had been able to go on with his trainer. Sure they had spent some time together training and doing little things like decorating the secret base, but this was completely different. This was real bonding time. A chance for the little shrew to really show his trainer what he could do.

Stark smiled down at his partner and looked off toward the city. There were far more trainers showing up than he had anticipated. Many were already taking their first steps into the ruins. No doubt some were here to help while others had come in search of a rather rare pokemon. Regardless, Stark began taking his first steps toward the ruins lest he miss his own opportunity to make a difference while his partner rolled down the dune with a giddy almost laugh-like sound causing the trainer to pause for a second while he watched the little bowling ball of a pokemon leave a trail of dust in his wake.

"Really?" the blond haired trainer exasperated as he spat out some of the sand that hit him in the aftermath of his partners joy, "I know you don't get out much, but come on!" With a sigh Stark continued his trek toward the ruins and whatever mysteries awaited. "And don't get too far ahead of me!"

"Wonderful..." mouthed the young trainer from Sherpie Town as he looked at the rectangular flat box placed across the couch from the Pokémon Center. He turned to his companion, who was busy at the moment, just as the segment on the TV ended, "This is what we've been waiting for Judis!" The small land crocodile ignored her trainer as she continued to chew on her food. "Judis! This is exactly where we are heading. We need to help those researchers and learn more about those mysterious Pokémon that appeared in those ruins." The Sandile licked the last piece of food on her plate before burping, and then looked up at her trainer with a satisfied grin on her face, "Dile?" "You're right! We need to head there now before it is too late!" The Sandile knew too well what was about to happen. She rushed to the backpack and attached herself to the bag, just as Rob grabbed the bag with the Sandile, grunting as he picked it up.

"Okay, okay..." His mind began to race, "What exactly are we going to see when we get there?" he wondered, checking to make sure he had everything needed for this adventure, including the five Poké Balls that rested on his belt. "Ready?" The trainer asked the Sandile, who in the meantime was able to climb to her trainer's shoulder, "Sand-Sandile!" she responded enthusiastically, finally fully reflecting her trainer's excitement. Rob reached for Judis' head and patted it, with the Sandile grinning more than ever. "Let's go!" he said, as they both finally set off to help out the researchers in the The Lost City of Alph.

"Curious. Most curious..." As Kin glanced around, those words could be heard many, many times. In response, his Cherubi, Sundance, couldn't help but roll his eyes from his usual perch on Kin's shoulder. Glancing back, Kin couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Come on, Sundance! You have to admit that this is amazing! There's a reason the Unown are, well, unknown! Who knows what kind of relics could be found in these ancient ruins! And whatever we find out can be passed on to the researchers, right? Or... They could pass information on to us." Kin's grin at this point appeared almost evil, but Sundance knew that it was just a sign of Kin about to get in over his head. Again. And, charging into the ruins, that's just what he did...

The outlaw. Wes felt a gust of scorching wind as he confronted the rolling miles of desert, the storm kicking up sprays of sand as it broke across the great dunes of Talas. The gale quickly paved over the kid’s footprints, leaving no testimony to his brief stint in the desert bazaar. Much to Wes’s chagrin he’d been banned from every one of the market’s stalls, the consequence of a cursed mirror he’d encountered that Halloween. Taking one fleeting look at the town, supplies dwindling, he boldly pressed on into the whistling sahara. A good twenty minutes passed before Wes gave in to boredom. He’d convinced himself he was going in circles, passing the same boulder and cactus at least twice. The desert sun bore down on him like a blazing inferno, the blistering sand scratching against his bare feet. The kid’s mouth was bone dry, his sandpaper tongue rough against the roof of his mouth, his lips cracking as he opened wide for another ration of water. Pouring the last dregs of his supply down his gullet, a cool tingling sensation whisked him away from his sweaty anguish – if only for a moment.

Since the start of his trek Wes had been subconsciously stoking the face of the Rock Ball in his shorts pocket, entertaining the idea of company no matter how responsive. After passing the boulder and cactus for a third time, tensions rose and he finally gave into this urge. In one fluid motion Wes brandished the Pokéball and lobbed it a few meters forward. Nuzzling into the soft sand, the ball suddenly cracked open in a burst of light. As the light faded the sharp ridges of a reptilian Pokémon in its late pupa stage took shape. The Pupitar’s dark eyes quickly scanned the perimeter, homing in on Wes who reciprocated with a wide smile. Taiko was suited perfectly the desert environment, his greyish-blue carapace impermeable to harsh sandstorms. And if the rumours were true, Wes would need one of his strongest powerhouses to tackle what lay ahead. “Keep baring north buddy, I’ve got a feeling we’re getting close”, Wes patted the hard shell before breaking back into a stride. Taiko gave a gruff nod, venting gases from his body to keep pace. Wes felt a wretch at the pit of his stomach as they drew toward a descent, clenching his fists as he prepared to enter the great unown.

Another adventure, none other too soon...

Frinth descended with His Treecko on the top of his shoulder, one named Trick. "So, Frinth.... A Psychic type this time, eh? He should be a nice addition to our team if ever you catch one."
"I have to make sure we get one as fast as possible. . According to the info I've received, we only have twenty-four hours left to spare before the sand engulfs the area. We may also have to archive different inscriptions for decryption, which will hopefully give us clues on finding these greatly fascinating creatures..."Frinth said excitedly.

    "Uhh...."Trick replied speechless.
"Excellent! Now let us move on. I'll leave the Citadel right on top so we may leave as soon as we came once we have met our goals."

Trick hopped off Frinth's shoulder, taking a stride alongside him. His footsteps glided over the sandy ground, and he examined around as he walked. Frinth then thought, Any letter would do. as long as I get to help contribute something to help others know more about these pokemon.

Archaeology in general has always been of keen interest to Tess so upon hearing of the unearthing of the mysterious Lost City of Alph and the approaching sandstorm that may well bury it again, Tess didn't want to miss her chance. Add to that a trainer bulletin had been issued, and she wasted no time in making her way to the site more as a matter of curiosity than in any real desire to help scientists lock up and study these ancient creatures.

Soaring across the Isle of Talas Tess holds firmly onto Skye, feeling the wind blow through her hair as the Flying Pokémon approaches the newly uncovered site. Looking upon the ruins from above Tess is quietly surprised at the size of the site, not having expected it to encompass such a large area. She smiles, certain she'll be able to slip away from the crowd of trainers gathering at the ruins in order to explore alone and at her own pace.

Coming in to land a distance away from the gathering crowd of trainers Tess strokes Skye affectionately, thanking her for the ride before recalling the Pidgeot for a well-deserved rest. Clipping Skye's ball to her belt Tess' fingers instinctively wrap around the smooth, warm surface of Tempest's ball, ready to unlatch it. She stops, however, re-evaluating the situation. Considering what they're up against it makes perfect sense to ensure she's accompanied by a dark type, and although she's rather fond of Tempest's company she's not allowed herself much one-on-one time with her other Pokémon for quite some time. Hesitating for another few moments she releases the Houndoom's ball from her grasp, instead removing Blaze's Pokéball and releasing the Blaziken in one fluid motion. It may not make much sense walking a fighting type into a psychic lair but she knows he can handle it.

Smiling at her fiery guardian Tess nods toward the ruins of the Lost City of Alph. "How do you feel about exploring the Unown?" she asks, looking forward to the adventure. Always his overly cautious self Blaze scans the site warily before slowly nodding his assent and joining Tess as she begins walking toward the ancient ruins.

OoC: Hope I'm not too late.

Matthew's Pokédex buzzed with activity of evacuation warnings, 24 hour news updates and scientist pleas. It was a busy day in Fizzy Bubbles history; the discovery of a new lost city in Talas sent a ripple of hype through the region's vast network of scientists, but a prediction of an incoming psychic storm in 24 hours signaled massive danger. The sun beat down with insatiable heat as Matthew flicked his Pokédex open once more, searching for the latest notification of the news.

Sweat dripped down Matthew Brown's face as he wiped his forehead with one hand, shaking off the beads of moisture running down his hand. Wiping his hand on his jeans he continued on, his shoes quietly crunched against the sand as he fought his way through the dunes. The trainer had ditched his leather jacket, the region's insatiable and world-renowned heat causing Matthew to travel with just jeans and a t-shirt, the latter a plain red v-necked t-shirt to both reflect the heat and also avoid pit-stains while adventuring.

A Shieldon accompanied him on his journey, the ceratopsian-like reptilian Pokemon taking the heat in its stride as it bounded along the sand, opposite to the trainer as he dragged his heavy feet through the granules. He looked at his Pokemon with jealousy, its tiny size negating its steel typing, and while most Steel types suffer in the heat, the small Shieldon seemed to take it in his stride; infuriating Matthew even further. Matthew was not used to this type of weather, preferring the cold to whatever this was, a heatwave to most people but probably a normal day for Sobek, at least, that's what the guide said. Whipping warm winds kicked up sand at regular intervals, causing both trainer and Pokémon to stop and protect themselves, only increasing the time taken to get to the Lost City of Alph.

He looked down at the Pokémon by his side, a young one in comparison to those who came before, but with the current state of his team in a far younger stage he was around the same level, the fossil Pokémon showing great potential. He stooped down, stroking the top of the fossil-types head. It was their first adventure together, the first Shieldon in the Fizzy Bubbles region was finally ready for the test in front of him and Matthew was confident the shield-Pokémon would take it in his stride.

Matthew's shoes quietly crunched against the sand as he fought his way through the dunes, his bag weighing down his shoulder as he packed it full of Pokéballs, the opportunity to repay scientists for their innovation in recovering fossil-types the least the young man could do, and the need to help any struggling human beings escape the danger zone was his duty as a Pokémon trainer....
