I've done over 500 eggs for Zorua and still no MM egg? Is it that difficult?

I'm pretty sure it changes when you SR as well otherwise you would be finding the same pokemon unless you somehow advance the frames either on your own or from npcs...

Well sring is technically shutting the game off, so yea, but just closing the screen and not going through the main screen and all will keep it from reseting. Just wanted to make sure I was right.

I almost MM'ed for a shiny Magikarp recently, SO glad I didn't do that, with it being given away in Japan and all. Ahh well, Mawile is still my goal ^_^

So Virizion has sorta become my main hunt now. I've lost interest in Tepig now because SRs for Virizion are so much quicker. Maybe I'll move my first BQ shiny to a route or Flocessy Ranch.

I just realized I misread your post before. Yeah, as long as you keep the system on and the game loaded, the seed doesn't change. If you don't close it the frames might be way off from an npc or from time in gen 3 (with the broken rng from emerald/RS dry battery)

My Zorua took 991 egg by MM without shiny charm, so no worry yet xDD And beside, my shiny Trapinch still hasn't come after almost 2000 eggs for now lol, be patient u v u

he means if you don't put it on standby, the frames will continue to advance because of NPCs moving around and such.
although, with the GBA games, closing the lid doesn't put them on standby, they continue to run. so you cant "pause" the RNG in those

edit - I should probably point out that because of the way the frames advance because of NPCs moving, or you moving or using your PC, etc... it's entirely possible to skip over your shiny frame. So leaving the game on forever doesn't guarantee you'll hit your shiny frame.

Now that is new to my understanding. Huh, so I guess no real benefit to leaving on and using standby. I'm actually looking for a shiny magnemite preferably in Virbank Complex. I don't think I'm near moving npcs except they do rotate. Also I have been going back to Center and using pc, but not anymore.

So maybe this'll work if I find a solid, no spots without grass, area there with no moving or rotating npcs and I won't miss my shiny frame?

I'm not sure. I read somewhere that even moving your own sprite would advance the frames (can't remember which version that was in)

I'm fairly sure it doesnt just appear when the shiny frame hits, I dont know if it just pertains to SR targets or RE aswell, but I read somewhere that even if your encounter is half a second off the shiny frame it will be a normal poke....not 100% sure but it makes sense.

This is making me appriciate my shiny elgyem Max even more than I have, as well as making me want to quit searching for shiny magnemite despite it's cool look.

Say I miss my shiny frame and I'm still doing the leaving game on with standby approach, there could be another shiny frame to appear, right? That makes sense, because didn;t someone say they found a shiny, and then they found another like right after (not sure if they shut the game off between the two though).

Yay! I've just acquired the famously easiest-to-obtain shiny, that is a red Gyarados. Doesn't count for the community challenge, because I got it through a trade (for a regular Xatu), but it's still a good-looking shiny.

It should be noted that those are two different types of frames. One is the IVRNG, which as the name implies, controls the IVs. Wandering NPCs don't affect this at all in Generation 5, but withdrawing Pokémon does. Battles advance the IVRNG by about 120 fps, and walking 128 steps will advance it by however many Pokémon are in your party.

The PIDRNG is the RNG that controls gender, nature, ability, if it's shiny or not, encounter slot, and if it's holding an item (if that's applicable to species being encountered). That is advanced by WNPCs, as well as turning in the grass, or taking a step in the grass (two frames for each).

Finally, the seed is determined when you start the game, and won't change unless you activate the C-Gear in BW1.

edit: ...strike that axew mm, i changed it back to yanma and just postpone Axew RE till later...
EDIT2: switch AGAIN... this time to Victory Road Outside, hoping fot Fraxure or Rufflet(with my luck Heatmor or Meinfoo..)...all I know is if I keep switching ill never find any shinies XD
