I got a shiny charmander, but I reset the game, because I thought I saved

after I toke the five eggs but I didn't

I remembered what happen when you trade a shiny egg

to another game does the chance of the shiny change because I trade

the 5 eggs I thought they have the shiny pokemon to my white 2

About my hunt, more than 1316 Vulpix eggs hatched and still nothing. I'm really hoping it shinies soon...and possibly female

Quick update on my Zorua hunt - 300 eggs hatched, and 30 more in my boxes right now. Also, my recent shiny Spiritomb is now up to level 92. A few trips through the Elite 4 will do that for you!

Hoping it's not TOO long of a hunt, but what can you do?

I'm pretty sure there are more wings than Ducklett, but I don't know the actual percentages...

I'm currently hunting Porygon on FireRed, a Pokémon I have already failed to get twice : the first time my DS accidentally fell on the floor just after the shiny appeared, and the second time I mistakenly SRed it
I resumed the hunt since a few days, and I bought 2,200 Porygon since then !

probably they soft reset over the shiny by accident. SRing becomes a reflex after a while and you start pushing buttons before you realize what you're looking at >.<

When you trade eggs with shinies to another game they usually won't be shiny in the other game. This is because the thing that determines if a pokemon is shiny is a calculation when the pokemon HATCHES between the Pokemons ID (PID) and the Trainer's Secret ID (SID)... and maybe the actual Trainer ID (TID). When you hatch it on a different game, the TID and SID are different, so the result if often a non-shiny in the egg.

I thought this only work with manaphy, but it's work with every pokemon then

Remember the Dragon Year Egg event in Japan that gives players eggs that always contain a shiny?
The same thing applies, even though the event is intended to give you shinies, but if you trade the egg to another game, the egg won't hatch into a shiny.

as for Manaphy, the same thing is the exact reason why Shiny Manaphy is possible, although very rare.
Just trade the Manaphy Egg to another game, and the shiny lock is removed.

Really the YOTD won't be shiny if you trade them, that's why I don't see YOTD in eggs in trade shops.

I did the trick with my manaphy to have it shiny.

I noticed if you put the Shiny Charm and Oval Charm

in the free space, they won't have there affect (I'm not sure but it could be true)

Gosh made it to 4,500 SRs for my shiny Johto starter today, did much more than I thought I could. Won't be able to get much done tomorrow I suspect, but maybe wednesday or thursday. And after Friday I'm free and can hunt as much as I please! Hoepfully I'll make some progress on my BQ this winter break.

Congrats on the shiny Vulpix...I believe that's the only shiny I saw today (and I almost missed it!).

I finally managed to do a decent number of Eevee REs today...500! In Repel trick/Eevee RE terms, that's sort of a lot >_>

And like I've been doing the past day or two, I dual hunted on SS as well, so another 500+ there as well.

Unfortunately, no shinies on either. This does bring my total to 2400 Eevee REs (5551 on trainer card, and 3240 since my Litwick). Despite having started this hunt on November 6, today's hunting alone accounted for over 20% of my total REs >_> and added over an additional 25% to the 1900 REs I started with this morning. It's nice to see so much progress, though it did mean no-lifing today basically...But I wanted to no life and never was able to before today, so...

Also, I only used 43 super repels for those 500 REs! Unfortunately, I only have 51 left (Started with 300 at the very beginning of my hunting), so I'll have to go back to the store and stock up...

EDIT: O_o Forgot I haven't left the park in so long that it apparently isn't Autumn anymore. I guess I should go explore whatever areas need to be explored in the winter...Not a fan of changing my system date/time for these things.

Also, I just bought 449 Super Repels, bringing me up to 500 Super Repels...And leaving me with 26k cash...Looks like my Umbreon will be hitting level 100 at the e4 soon!

EDIT 2: Whoops, guess it was Autumn I was supposed to do that stuff...Oh well.

EDIT 3: So I know this doesn't relate to shininess, but just for fun, I just checked the 1 Eevee I decided to catch over the last few weeks (since after 3 tries to run away, I was unable to, so I always hope it might be special when that happens and catch it), and it has a Jolly nature with the following (approximate) IVs: HP/29 ATK/29 DEF/24 SpA/ 28 SpD/25 SPD/31. Not bad for a wild pokemon, eh? Then again, I don't know too much about EVs/IVs, so maybe it's not that rare Oh well sorry to post this non-shiny related bit, just found it to be an interesting product of my hunt and thought I'd share.

4,500 RE at Route 14 in search of the eighth and final shiny of my White 2 Badge Quest! Swablu/Altaria is my first choice to shine, 2nd Choice Drifblim, 3rd Golduck, 4th Absol.

I got White 2 on Saturday so all my hunts are paused since I'm doing a Badge Quest on that game. My first and current target is Snivy by SR: I'm not counting them but I'm fairly certain I'm on around 500 or so far. Finger's crossed for an early hunt, as this will be the first SR hunt that I ever completed. As always, best of luck to everyone!

Currently over 3k random encounters, I went over the shiny odds for sure. Makes this hunt my 3rd longest hunt, after I finally get the shiny I might do a fast playtrough my soulsilver to get myself a team from pal park and transfering to pokémon pearl and finishing the game for Pokéradar.

By random encounter, do you have to count all pokemon encountered in the area or just the targeted pokemon?

I think most people count like their Trainer Card shows, so any encounter. But I've also seen some people count just the targeted Pokemon.
