Official New and Improved General Shiny Thread

Well, I'm a mere 30 REs into my 2nd shiny for my Badgequest. It's a little tricky since I'm so early in the game, but I was lucky enough to catch a timid Dunsparce with Yawn and Run Away, so I should be able to catch anything I need to pretty easily. I'm hunting in Johto's Route 32 and really hoping for Ekans, Bellsprout, or Mareep in particular to shine for me. Just putting on a movie to get some more SRs done.

EDIT: Finishing today with 265 REs and nothing so far. But, the hunt is young. ^^

So after getting bored of so many easy shinies with the shining charm in white 2, this week I started a Leaf Green badge quest. I dont know how many SR's did it take but they were a lot. (all this week hunting because of holidays). I finally got my shiny charmander!!!
It's a badge quest. Next target will be nidoran or mankey at route 3.

I dont have any pics or anything but I dont lie. I will update my sig with current badge quest progress and other shiny stuff.

Yes! I found a shiny male Pidove in Castelia City after 1,091 REs! Now I think I'll start getting eggs for the community hunt. I would really like a golden Magby!

Getting kind of disappointed with my Shiny hunt. <8/
Over 1200 MM'd eggs for my shiny Zorua and nothing so far, once I hit the normal ratio I might just give up and go for a traded one. I've been breeding them since the last school year.

Congrats on all of the shinies, particularly Raichu Arcanine on cyndaquil. Im glad to see loads of people sring the johto starters, i would only i did try a few months back but my game froze and hasnt fixed around 1700 srs =(.
Anyway onto my current hunt, my shellder mm. It is currently at 510 eggs, and i would like it to shine soon =D

Options as in turning off Battle Scene, Saving before IR, and anything else there was, sorry I didn't really put that clearly, I don't think it does either, just in case though.

530 Snover eggs hatched and no shiny! Sad times, but I will come back to it in the future, probably with the Shiny Charm this time :)

Right now I'm just writing out a list of all the Pokémon I need to finish the National Dex, thought I was pretty funny putting the Shiny Charm in the "Hunting" part of my signature, I'm a little lame >3<
Anyways, I'm also probably going to start Shaymin soon, don't know if I'll finish or start a BQ half way through but I can always hope it'll shine quickly. I finally bought Black 2 last night so will be getting that next week :D

Congrats on any shinies that showed while I was, again, away from Serebii for a while and good luck getting the one's who haven't sparkled yet! Especially that Ducklett, I can't imagine hunting in the bird shadows (or whatever they're supposed to be).

There's nothing wrong. I guess I wanted a female because it fits better.

But, anyway, I'm 12 Maractus eggs away from 90. No Shiny yet. Maybe I'll get lucky and get it either later tonight or sometime tomorrow.

UPDATE: Hells, yeah! Got a Shiny Maractus at 103 eggs! Male, Docile, and with the Water Absorb Ability.

Photo 144.jpgOMFG! I just now caught the final shiny of my White 2 Badge Quest! A shiny Male Swablu Impish Nature on Route 14 after 12,264 RE! Totally unexpected and was my first choice to shine from this route! I can't believe I actually managed to finish this before New Years! Now I plan to beat the rest of the game and then complete the pokedex to get shiny charm!

Congrats on all the new shinies!

Just thought I'd stop in. I've been rather lazy with hunting lately and have been instead focusing more on beating my soul silver which I accomplished. So now I'm hatching all of the leftover eggs from previous MM hunts and then I'm going to start going for eevee. That's the plan anyways though I'm not sure how long I'll stick with it because part of my is saying it wants to MM for another shiny mareep (I evolved mine fully into an amphy and I'd still like a flaafy because they're adorable) but I do want to reclaim my eevee so who knows.

And on a different issue I really don't like how you can't trade between fourth and fifth gen: I want to start my black version over because I rushed through very fast and I just kind of want to enjoy playing through everything and I'd totally reset it if it wasn't for my Shiny Zebstrika and My shiny cottonee. Too bad I don't have a white or another black version to trade to.

I just realized this entire post was kind of pointless so I'm sorry, good luck on all the hunts!

Finished 100 REs a little while ago today. But I also worked 11 hours today, so that took away a bit of hunting time...But tomorrow, I don't have work, so I should be able to get more done!

Was going for a Naughty nature to make him a good Attacker on the team but he ended up being Quirky. Not the best all around IV's but I've already finished EV training him and he's part of the family now. Ended up naming him Marcurio after my favorite Skyrim follower (Simply because both he and my soon to be Zoroark have ponytails).
