Shen, dude, good to see you! Ok I haven't looked over this fully yet, but I gotta say I can't allow Terra being killed off. Put her in an ICU like Nightwing, but no killing her. Delta mentioned wanting to play her at one point, even. You don't need a Sample since we've written together enough in the past and yes, the history is like a Sample already, but I can't allow Terra being killed off. Sorry man.

Oi, I worked so hard to make sure no one mentioned Terra in the darn SU thread, seems I needed to search more, heh...That's too bad. Well, isn't it possible to assume that Argil only thought she died and he ran before she was alive (prompting me to remove her burial)? Or better yet, that her being buried in the earth would actually REVIVE her, being affiliated with Earth powers, after all? That might actually make a wonderful plot point if Delta can work it right.

Description: Matthew is a fairly young, handsome boy, if I do say so myself.

He is 5'3'', has spiky black hair, and usually wears a black shirt, black ripped jeans, hi-tops (Usually DC's), and a black hoodie as his casual clothing.

On rare occasions, he wears a slouched beanie and metallic arm guards (similar to Starfire's) with the aforementioned outfit.

He has slightly tan skin and is not too fat, but not too skinny.

On important and very special occasions, he will wear a tuxedo-like outfit, complete with bowtie. However, he will retain his casual clothing underneath, just in case someone wants to threaten his life, or if he wants to make a quick getaway.

Personality: He has different personalities depending on where he is and who he's with.

Usually, he is depressed, quiet and mysterious unlike his younger self, who was cheerful and upbeat. His cheerful aura is long gone. However, doing something that reminds him of his
brother/father opens locked parts of his brain, and he can become cheerful again, like when he was younger.

When he is with someone important and someone he looks up to, he will defend that said person with his life, and will try to verbally defend him. He is also very courteous around said person.

However, when he is with someone whom he holds a grudge against, he will perform the aforementioned action, such as defending the person, but he will not socialize with said person and will talk to him in a cold manner. He will still be courteous, but reluctantly.

In a large group, he tries to eschew socializing, as he is shy and prefers to be alone, mostly because half of his family is gone.

In his free time, he hones his powers and thinks about nothing and everything.

Background/History: At the age of 5, Matthew's dad died of sickness. Also, at the age of 5, his brother, who was 16 then, was killed in a fierce and horrific battle against evil, right before his eyes. Since then, he has been emotionally and mentally traumatized. He's partially gotten over it now, but due to his gifted memory (which he was born with), he cries often.

He was also slightly bullied in school, especially the taller people, since he was shorter then. He was bullied so much, he unlocked his potential powers after being teased, kicked and ridiculed to his limit, and nearly suffocated them with their shadows.

After discovering his powers, he set off on a journey to save Dark City and rid it of its evil. On the way, he met Starfire, who was giving a motivational speech to the Renegades. He listened closely to this, and it reminded him of his brother, encouraging him to do his best, and his father, telling him those bullies are nothing compared to him. This speech unlocked something deep inside his brain, and he realized, it wasn't just Dark City he was fighting for, it was avenging both his brother and his father. Since then, he has been fighting anyone that threatens to kill him, as he thinks that they are going to hurt him, like they did when he was younger, like how they killed his brother.

For now, he roams the streets, looking for any form of sanity to indulge in or evil to decimate, all to save the city.

Superpower(s)/Special Abilities/Etc: He can manipulate shadows according to his will.

He can launch orbs of shadowy darkness of any size, but he must first extract nearby shadows before doing that.

He can also center his power in one single shadow and amplify how big or how strong it will be.

He can squeeze and subsequently crush anything depending on how much power is centered into the shadow. He can also cover himself in shadows, perfect for reconnaissance missions.

He also has amazing memory.

Roleplay Sample: Shadow walked through the streets, something he does often.

He still remembers the incident, that horrible sight...

"No. I must be strong. This is for them. Remember that." he thought to himself.

As he casually walked, he sensed something.

Some presence. An evil presence, although lessened in a mysterious way.

Slade's minion. Black shirt and pants, concealed dagger. He could sense it all. The usual garb they wear when confronting him.

Too obvious.

"I've caught you. You can't escape now." he thought, with a satisfied smirk clearly printed on his face.

His first catch in days.

Ok let me spell it out for you:
1. Personality needs to be a good and long paragraph minimum.
2. History needs to be two paragraphs minimum, enough for me to understand the character.

Sorry I hadn't noticed until you said so. Ok you're getting better! Couple of things still.

1. Is his brother dead too? It's not clear. You mention avenging his brother but not why.
2. Please organize each part of your form a little better so paragraphs are clearer. A paragraph is six sentences. It all looks like one big wall of text and is a little painful on the eyes.
3. The RP Sample needs to be your own writing. If you have never done RP before please write something up for a sample.

Edit: Shen I've finished reading your awesome character and can officially add him to the first post, where before I agreed with Neo your character was awesome but just wanted to make sure.

I'm still a little confused on the history of Terra, since Latveria is Marvel. I'm going to assume you made up the part about Latveria merging with Markovia and assume Markovia itself is made up, but it doesn't have much bearing on the story. DC is full of made up countries, so that's of no consequence.

I'll also hold you to what you said, that you can have Terra get revived by being buried in the ground for a couple of years and come back to life. I personally like the character a bit too much to keep her dead, and it's quite obvious you do too since you wrote her into your character's profile so heavily. So yea, please bring her in.

Also with Food Guy dropped out, that means both his hero and villain drop out. That opens one villain slot. First come first serve, and it must be a GREAT villain who will stick around and be active.

Description:
The same as this except slightly taller, about 6'4" and without the buttons on his hat and coat.

Personality: Ace is a very polite and intelligent young man and seems to be just a normal person. However he is anything but normal. He has a seemingly bottomless stomach, able to put away massive quantities of food before he had to ration his food intake. He also has extreme narcolepsy, meaning that anytime that he ate or conversed with anyone, he could randomly fall asleep.

However, whenever he fights he exhibits a serious side and never runs from a fight no matter who his opponent is. Some people see this as a death wish, but in reality he wishes to keep those he cares for from being hurt. He also has a bad temper that only shows itself when someone insults or harms those close to him which could lead to his undoing.

Background/History: Ever since he could remember, Ace had always been able to produce fire from his body. He wasn't able to control it at first as it was connected to his emotions. As such, whenever he got angry he inadvertently engulfed himself in flames and almost burned down his home. Thankfully, his parents were able to put out the flames before any considerable damage was done.

Some time after he learned to control his powers, he witnessed a man being mugged while he walked home from school. Not being one to walk away while someone was in distress, he leapt in without thinking and tried to drive the mugger away. He was successful after covering himself in flames which scared the mugger away. The victim thanked him and went back on his way. This is when Ace realized he could become a hero like his idols, the Teen Titans, and help to protect the people of Jump City. This would never come to fruition however once "The Apocalypse" hit.

In the days leading up to "The Apocalypse" event, Ace, his parents and little brother, Luffy, were caught up in a battle between one of the heroes and villains; however he has no idea who the battle was between as they were buried under rubble from a nearby building. Ace woke up and found himself trapped underneath a support beam. He managed to wriggle his way out from under it and started to search for his family. He eventually found his parents but unfortunately they didn't make it. He wasn't able to find his brother however and to this day believes that he's out there somewhere.

Nowadays, Ace goes around the city, now known as the "City of Shadows", to take out small cells of the foot solders that patrolled around the city to look for members of the resistance force known as "The Renegades" and for workers that may have escaped. He hopes to join up with The Renegades at some point as he knows that sooner or later, he'll be found and eventually taken out by the group of villains controlling the town. He also hopes that The Renegades will be able to provide him with info on his little brother's whereabouts.

Superpower(s)/Special Abilities/Etc: Ace is able to produce fire from anywhere on his body, whether it be on his hands, feet or all over his body. The heat of the flames are controlled by his emotions. In other words, the angrier he becomes, the hotter his flames become. He can even become fire itself, but only for short periods of time. Due to this, Ace cannot be burnt. He can also dodge any normal attack and even burn opponents depending on the attacks range.

Just skimmed this for now, so this is just a preliminary analysis. Two things.

What do you mean dodge any normal attack? Like melee punches and kicks? Any non super power attack? That seems a little abusable.

Second, the link for a sample goes to a post closing the thread. Do you mean Post #2 in that thread instead, by Damien? That's your post? We're looking for a sample of your writing.

I'm not sure that's all that fair. I'd like to see what AA thinks about this, because I think it might be a little abusable. But I may just be overreacting, which is why I gotta know what he thinks.
