"The Rescuers" and, though it was originally Touchstone, "The Nightmare Before Christmas". I remember when it came out. That same year, it snowed like crazy on Halloween (something it NEVER does down here in The South), just like at the end of the movie. It delighted me to no end when I was a kid...that, and I was the only kid out on Halloween that year. I got three pillow-cases full of candy. Greatest Halloween ever.
I liked a lot of Non-Disney Disney-esque films: The three that I still love to this day are "The Princess and the Goblin", "The Secrets of Nimh", and "An American Tale: Fivel Goes West". I know they aren't Disney films, but they are similar to Disney films.
I didn't watch a lot of Disney growing up--my parents weren't ones for "kid's movies", so I grew up watching horror movies. Probably why I still love horror films to this day and can't get enough "scary stuff".
