Question: has Vision of Escaflowne been on Toonami's block before? I know it was on Fox Kids, but I don't think they ever showed it all the way through. The entire series has been dubbed, so I figured they showed it somewhere, and Toonami was the one that came to mind.

From a quick Google search:

However out of these series, Fox Kids only broadcast Escaflowne (in a heavily edited form) which was dropped from the schedule after a few episodes. Slayers was also edited and planned to be broadcast by Fox Kids but never aired."

The idea of any Fox imprint airing Rayearth seems pretty ludicrous because there are certainly no straight characters in CLAMP series.

Yeah... and I wouldn't be surprised if it stayed that way. The Umineko anime was generally not so well-received by most fans of the VN for not being a particularly good adaptation.

Probably. Since, if it was aimed at young'uns, as we all know, we can't have any blood whatsoever. Physical violence is still basically okay, but blood, obviously not. Or any guns or explosions, those would have to go.

Going by the logic used for censorship of Looney Tunes, anyway, which we all know are for children because they're animated.

Last I counted it was at 35% filler.

At least it wasn't Bleach with the atrocious 47% filler, then again most of Bleach's storyline is far worse than it's filler, so you can count that more as a Blessing than a flaw sadly. -_-; Kubo has no ****ing clue how to properly write a story.

Ratings have been slowly going up. In December, ThunderCats became the first show to hold 1 million viewers in the 1:00am timeslot. And just last week, ThunderCats also became the first show to hold 1 million at 1:30am. (Sym-Bionic Titan pulled 947K, which isn't all that far from 1 mil.!) Last week was also the first time 4 shows pulled over 1 million viewers in a night and resulted in the highest total ratings for Toonami so far.

To compare, in 2012, the highest rated night Toonami had was the 2nd night after the revival, when Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins were just starting. So far, in 2013, Toonami has beaten previous best nights 3 times in 2 months. I'd say that's evidence things are going well.

This just in from Momocon, One Piece is joining the Toonami lineup.

Also they're celebrating the 15th anniversary of the block this Saturday with a screening of Evangelion 1.11.

And TOM and the Absolution are getting facelifts. Expect TOM 5 to debut in April.

Adding to this:

Apparently, a few shows were mentioned that might be in consideration for airing at some point. Samurai Champloo and Sailor Moon 2013 appear to be shows they are considering, and possibly Panty & Stocking.

Young Justice and Samurai Jack will not be airing on Toonami, though they said they are looking into some non-anime shows right now.

Also, One Piece may not be what replaces Tenchi Muyo! GXP. Another new show might possibly replace it. It has yet to be confirmed exactly when One Piece will begin airing.
