Question Do you ever forfeit/disconnect/run from a WiFi battle?

    Topic title.

I always disconnect, because, well, nobody wants to lose. Besides, I suck in the competitive area, 7/10 times I lose. When I'm on Pokemon Online, I open the task manager and end the Pokemon-Online.exe process.

    Do you do this too?

Did it only once, felt the guilt, didn't do it again.

At least GF solved the ragequitting issue, though not good enough(make it a whole day at least).

No, it's extremely annoying and poor sportsmanship. Plus it means the other guy's score won't go up even though he earned victory.

    I'm glad BW2 fixed this.

    Still, it's an improvement, right?

I used to ragequit on occasion, but I never do it now. Worst case scenario, I concede defeat and forfeit, so the opponent doesn't get cheated out of a win.

Yes it is, at least not being banned for 5 minutes, that would be a different story.

    Only twice

My first disconnect was an accidental reflex where if I lose in-game, a rare thing now, I just soft reset so I don't lose any money and well I was new to Wi-Fi battle and hit the soft re-set.

The other time was due to my Wi-Fi cutting out.

Yeah by punishing the players who lose connection by their Wi-Fi cutting out.

    Game Freak didn't fix anything.

They made it so if the connection is lost they get block from battling for a short while.

    It's a pointless feature.

Good point, it is sad to see people with bad Wifi not being able to battle because of the connectivity

I've only did it once. I deliberately lost to a guy who disconnected few minutes before, just to pay him back. I do sometimes forfiet, when I'm certain to lose (but could take a while); doing so still gives the opponent the win.

I'm trying to remember if I have, if I have done that, I did it on Diamond or Platinum 4th gen, but then I realized how irritating it was when I was about to have a legit win and they cut out, so I don't do it anymore

    Un... believable.

I do, but i have my good reason's. as, if someone show's up with a bunch of hacked and shiny legendaries or beat's my NU pokemon with an entire party of OU, i'm more than likely to disconnect from unfair battles.

If the battle was streight and fair and i lost, idc.

Nope. Nobody is unbeatable, so no one should expect to never lose. Of course no one likes to lose, but it's just a game. Pokemon battles are about finding out who the better trainer is, but if 1 trainer just quits because they don't want to lose, why are they battling in the first place? Take a loss and learn from it. Improve your team(s) or strategy and give it another go.

I have. In a wi-fi tourney earlier this year, I just got fed up of going up against entire teams of perfect RNG'ed Pokemon over and over and over again, that I got a little petty and decided that since my traditionally-bred Pokemon just couldn't cut it, I'd make the RNG'ers suffer.

Since then I've decided that I'm still gonna try and breed strong Pokemon the old-fashioned way, but I've given up on competitive battling alltogether. It's just not worth it anymore.

It's not pointless, and it did fix the problem. Playing an entire match only to have the other guy disconnect right as you KO his last Pokemon is extremely irritating. It's childish and makes you look like a sore loser. If you beat the other guy fair and square, your score should go up. Ragequitting robs you of that and is detrimental to the game.
And really, how often do people lose connection in the middle of a match? They should let a widespread ragequitting problem go untouched to avoid something that is uncommon in the first place? Not to mention that if you lose internet you'd have to wait a while to play again anyway while you wait for it to come back on.

Oh Arceus, I used to do it all the time, but when I found out how annoying it was when you battle for 30 minutes in a Launcher Battle and win by one pokemon that has red hp just to have them ragequit on you, I stopped.

And I never ever ever forfeit. One time I was battling a Garchomp with my Charizard. My Charizard was faster and Blaze had just activated, but Garchomp still had a ton of HP. I figured I was gonna lose, so I fired a Blast Burn at them. Because it happened to be critical hit, I won. Luckily my opponent didn't ragequit. So yeah, I don't forfeit.

Because, like everyone else and with common sense, I try to at least be decent. But it's unfair to be beaten by pokemon who have pre-defined moves and stats. Built like nothing but pure slaves.

That's my opinion, and I will leave it at that.

Maybe when I'm decent enough, I'll consider taking losses. Right now, there is a 99.9% chance that I will lose on a regular WiFi match.
