Default Another competetive sandstorm team. The sandbox.

As of late I have been reading about weather teams. My first team with actual synergy and use was a baton pass team and after some tries I realised it was rubbish, and I always lost. But anyway I have decided to make a sandstorm team and on the face of it I don't see any obvious flaws but undoubtably there will be so that's where I need you guys to be critical.

    My lead
    Hippowdon Stirus berry
    Impish, sandstream
    252 HP 152 Def 104 Sp def
Earthquake- pure power move with STAB
Stealth rock- one of the most useful moves in the game
Roar- phaze pokemon out if I don't like the look of it
Slack Off- Reliable healing which is useful on a defensive pokemon such as this guy.

So a simple but effective lead. Fire off a cheeky sleath rock and roar to get a bit of damage on the enemy and earthquake if it is appropriate. I have ran this ev set to get the most bulk out of him so he can take that extra hit which could mean slack of to heal or dying.

    Skarmory shed shell
    Careful , keen eye
    252 HP 4 Def 252 Sp def
    Whirlwind- yet more phazing
Spikes- goes well with stealth rock
Drill peck- I have decided this over brave bird because of the recoil.
    Roost- yet more reliable recovery

I have gone the specially defensive root because hippowdon is physically defensive so it just kind of fits well, along with this people might be surprised to find that skarmory isn't as physically defensive and could cause a bit of confusion do rut e opponent. But the reason for drill peck is because even with the invest isn't fully an effective wall against special moves so the recoil could add up over the course of the battle.

    Nidoking life orb
    Rash , poision point
    80 Atk 252 Special Atk 176 Spd
    -Earthquake
    Thunderbolt
    -Ice Beam
    Superpower

Looking at my first two I realised I needed a powerful mixed attacker which can hit form both ends of the spectrum. So after much thought I decided on this guy. With this moveset I can hit most pokemon for super effective damage. The reason for a mixed attacker is because I just couldn't decide on a special or physical beast so I went down the middle. With this set I will hit hard and fast and take something out or just make one massive dent.

After looking at my first three I realised that they were good pokemon but I needed more specialised pokemon to cover Nidoking when he inevitabley falls

    My physical sweeper

    Scizor muscle band
    Adamant, technician
    252 Atk, 252 speed, 4 HP

Sword dance - up my attack set to monstrous levels in one turn= Good
Bullet punch - best priority move available to this guy with technician
U-turn - switch and cause some damage plus it gets STAB
Roost - I love the fact he can reliably heal himself without any drawbacks normally bird pokemon will be effected by earthquake when they roost but scizor doesn't land.

    My special sweeper-

    Lucario wise glasses
    Modest steadfast
    252 special Atk , 252 speed 4 HP
Calm mind- to set him up for a sweep
Arua sphere- reliable stab and doesn't miss which could be useful
Dark pulse- which fits in nicely with arua sphere for semi good coverage
Dragon pulse- to hit all other pokemon for at least neutral damage

Again the reason for these two is because they are more specialised then nidoking and can take down specific pokemon which causes a problem for me and by working in tandem they complement each other very well.

    Lastly the cleaner

    Tyranitar levtovers
    Careful sand stream
    252 HP 40 Def 216 Sp Def
Curse - upgrade both my attack and defence and by using the speed drop to improve avalanche and payback which boosts in power if I get hit before hand.
    Avalanche
    Payback
Rock slide- reliable STAB, I chose this over ston edge because this tyranitar is made to stay a bit longer then other variations

This beast is designed for a late game sweep when the opposing team it crippled and cannot deal with his large defences.

So this is my team. On the face of it realise I have a major problem with bulky waters and grass types. But please let me know what you think and how I can improve it although I would like to keep the sand storm monotype theme going as all pokemon so far has the immunity to it.

    ...............................................

OK, well, I would give skarmory EVs on defence, as with it he would be like, really untouchable. Also, he needs sturdy. And, his moveset could be better.

    Try this~

    Skarmory Leftovers
    Impish, Sturdy
    252 HP 252 Def 4 Spd
    Whirlwind- For Spikes
    Spikes- Obvious
HP Ground- Covers Fire and Electric in one move
Swagger- The way this Skarmory is built a boost in Attack shouldn't hurt this guy too much

I think that would work better than what you have

I never really gave much thought in skarmory because I always used the standard set but HP ground could be very useful on this set although it is a special tracking move so won't do as much power although the super effective hit will cover that for the most part and swagger seems very good because of the confusion and the fact that it may cause a switch to recover from the confusion. Thanks for the advice mate. But on a different note who are these people spamming they are very annoying.

Yeah, IDK, it is really weird. one time they VMed me, and i clicked on the link and it was like a transylvanian security training or something really crazy. Also, I made a mistake. His nature should be quiet, because the 4 speed EVs might be able to recover on the subtraction, and ull need the +SP. Atk.
