It really proves what I'm trying to say, though - making them serious and "funny" at the same time doesn't work. It just comes out awkwardly.

I guess but what I'm trying to say is that they didn't try it but I hope they dont anyway it probably would go wrong yeah.

No I'm saying in those serious and funny episodes. If the writers actually tried to develop the trio or their pokemon in these episodes it would be a lot better.

Hell it could be any of the pokemon, doesn't have to be the rat. If it makes the villain's actually look semi competent even for a few episodes I would love it and I'm sure most people would too.

that would be true, PIKACHU being captured would be interesting, however, I am more interested in seeing it be possessed, and traveling with the evil team for a while, so Charizard and Co can battle it/ help Ash out until they defeat Team Plasma.

Psh, you mean 1 episode, maybe two if we are lucky?? The rodent never stays possessed longer then that.

Exactly -_-. My whole point was that him or any other pokemon being captured for a few episodes wouldn't be that hard to do and would make them look competent for reals.

Most of the time they hadn't actually been ordered to. They tried at the beginning of Best Wishes, but then they were given orders on the Meteonite plot. They came quite close in the Subway hijack and the first Kami episodes.
