BWS2EN-4: Colress VS Looker! Team Plasma's Plot!! [FIRST POST]

I know what you mean, although I thought they were a bit more charming in OS, but maybe that's because their English VA's were actually good at their jobs back then. Regardless though, Team Rocket hasn't been "funny" in years in my humble opinion. I also doubt that little kids miss seeing that side of them; Team Rocket is only "funny" again because their seiyuu threw temper tantrums and practically threatened the studio with resigning just to have Team Rocket be "funny" again. It's sad, but the seiyuu run the show.

They probably were more charming in OS but they were never as threatening and competent as they have been in BW. Prior to BW, it was hard to take TRio seriously (even in OS at times) because of their incompetence. This series was the first time TRio actually felt like really competent villains. They often won several victories, they never blasted off, their schemes were actually well thought out. And I am going to miss this TR if they do leave in Episode N. I don't think it is a good idea to make them funny again and start blasting off again. Because all their credibility will probably be gone. Plus, they will get most of the screen time to themselves. One of the reasons we actually saw a lot of Iris and Cilan and interactions between Ash, Iris and Cilan is because TRio wasn't there taking up time. Could you imagine if the TRio were still goofy in BW and they showed up for the Don Battles and Clubsplosion. I doubt people would want to see that. Making them serious helped keep focus where it should be.

And besides, Zager and Giovanni will probably come at some point as well. Giovanni is too connected with Team Plasma not to show up. If you watch the first few episodes of BW, Giovanni kept mentioning Team Plasma so I am sure he will be involved.

If you watch the first few episodes of BW, Giovanni kept mentioning Team Plasma so I am sure he will be involved.

I was watching the first 12 episodes of Kanto and this is the TRio I want to see in Episode N. Looker's coming back? I thought he left after Team Galactic was disbanded. Not that I'm complaining, I didn't mind Looker at all.

Can't wait for Colress and Ghetsis to appear.

Any TR is better than AG and DP TRio in my opinion (DP they were at their lowest) and I love it that they have someone they report to every once in awhile whether it's Giovanni or Zager. It makes them seem like actual TR members which they didn't feel like in DP.

I'm okay either way so far as TRio goes... I think I liked them slightly more when they were serious, though. A mixture of both would be really nice, but it'd be really difficult to pull off well, too.

Onto the topic, looking forward to Team Plasma's first non-postponed appearance! Also looking forward to seeing Looker.

And while a good part of me is going to jump for joy upon seeing the grunts (with those outfits I love so much~), Colress and Ghetsis, a part of me can't help but hold out hope for the Shadow Triad, too... :s A part of me says it's not likely but I was wrong at least once already pertaining to this whole arc, so maybe I'll be wrong again? I hope?

To me they are, my problem is they became boring from doing the same crap over and over again, what started in Kanto should have ended in Kanto at MAX in Johto, it became tiring because they kept doing it, I stopped watching the anime for 1 or 2 years back in Hoenn because of it, even in DP I would skip episode with them(would still see the photos).

But TRio were never obnoxious in Kanto. I agree that them becoming repetitive became their problem but if they had toned it down a little like they did in Kanto, we wouldn't have to worry about them hogging screen time from certain characters.

But I got boring about the whole atitude not just ruining every single episode for me, on top of them being plot device, they were never a good plot device.

I loved what the writers did with them in this arc and like I said if they really need to revert them to this instead of just sending them away once and for all, atleast make it sporadic, make the gaps for their appearances as big as possible but if they are back to get Pikachu once again, we should assume they will most likelly appear frenquetly, I migth stop watching the series again or atleast like I did in DP ignore uninmportant TR related episodes.

No I didn't and like I said I didn't skip them completelly since I would look at the photos, no they weren't tolerable, they weren't at all, unless people don't care for plot and don't mind TR doing crap every episode.

I did skip most of Hoenn like I said becuase I got absolutelly tired of them, I did go back later and watch the episodes that were important, that was till the league, I watch the league and the BF filler arc.
