what animals haven't been turned into Pokémon yet?

A sponge would be pretty cool! Maybe a water/rock type, as sponges are one of the oldest animals on planet. They may be revived from a fossil.

I'd like to see a Bombardier Beetle (Bug/Fire or Bug/Fighting), a sea angel (typing is a little more difficult on this one, I've thought of Water/Ghost, Water/Ice, Water/Poison, Ice/Poison, Ice, Water, Bug/Water, Bug/Ice. All of those have some good arguments for them), kelp (Make it Grass/Ghost, Grass/Water or Grass/Dark and cross it with the Devil's Claw tree and it can be a monster that gets some of its nutrients from snaring and drowning passing animals), an armadillo (though I get the feeling they've already done that and I just can't think of it...Ground, Rock, Normal or some combination of the three for this one. Ground/Normal would be kind of interesting, but Rock/Normal would be just heartbreaking.) and a naked mole rat (just look up a pic of one of those things. The teeth actually come through the snout so the lips close behind them! You know that would make an epically creepy looking Pokemon! Looks like it could have some nice Ghost typing too. Ground/Ghost?)

Of course, I'd also like to see some big cats in the game, like a proper lion or jaguar. Liepard is getting kind of close to what I want, but Gamefreak keeps toning the cats down to sleek, dainty kitties. I'd love to see a killer death cat. And no, I don't really count Arcanine as a cat. It's supposed to be a cross between a dog and a tiger, but really, the only feline feature is the tiger-striping. It's still pretty much a beefed-up, majestic dog.

Have we had an earthworm Pokemon yet? I feel like they could make one that's Ground/Bug and stick it in caves and maybe forests and it would be more original than the typical recurring Pokemon we usually see in those environments.EDIT: Other ideas I had were a Fighting/Flying peacock that fights using molted feathers like fans, a Psychic/Flying or Dark/Flying raven, and a Grass/Flying type based on those seeds (IIRC they're called helicopter seeds) that spin around like helicopter blades as they fall to the ground.

- A tasmanian tiger fossil, maybe....
- A pangolin would be a nice defensive pokemon-I'd use one.
-There's a species of frog that camouflages as a leaf..that'd be interesting.

And there's a bunch of mythological animals to consider, like the Futakuchi-onna, or some medusa-like thing, or a Qilin, which seems like a good idea, too.

For the Tasmanian tiger, I could see that as a mammalian fossil revive that evolves into a kind of saber-toothed tiger. How cool would that be?
I think we already have frog with leaf camouflage in the Lotad line.
Another owl line would be really cool, especially if they took it in another direction from Hoothoot, like a snowy owl that was ice/flying. Though, I think the Togekiss line is supposed to be like an owl? At least, I've seen interpretations of it as such.
I also recall reading somewhere (Bulbapedia maybe?) that the Futakuchi-onna was the basis for Mawile. If you think about it, that makes sense.

There are several animals that have not been used as pokemon. Koalas and kangaroos (I dont count breloom) come to mind.
There are loads of sea creatures that could be used such as pokemon such as narwals and dolphins.

There are also many birds such as hummingbirds and woodpeckers that can be used.
If gamefreak used this thread to make gen 6 it would be a good gen =D
