Do you consider the "N arc" to be a second saga for Iris/Cilan?

And if Brock gets 2 sagas in the same region (Kanto), I would say that Cilan and Iris get 2/3 (depends if you consider BW2 also a different saga or an arc) sagas in Unova too, I guess. Tbh, I consider this one whole saga, not 2 different. But if Brock gets 2 regions for Kanto, it's only fair to say so do Cilan and Iris :P

Depends on what you are trying to mean with saga.

If you mean "a story arc that is long and/or different enough from the previous story arc to be considered a different series" in the manner of how Johto and Kanto had differences, then absolutely not. Even if Best Wishes is going to continue on until 2014, it is very hard to expect N arc to be large as Battle Frontier(if we get a third major story arc, we will discuss about it when it happens).

If you mean "a story arc that is long and/or different enough from the previous story arc to be a different part of the same series", then most certainly yes, but May and Max also count.

Either way, no, at least not in the manner you are trying to sell the idea.

As we know the gang is still staying in Unova for the next arc. But even so, do you consider it a "Second" arc for Iris/Cilan, much like how Misty/Brock stayed for multiple arcs?

Think of it this way:

- Misty (3 regions, Kanto/Orange/Johto)
- Brock (5 regions, Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Kanto BF/Sinnoh)
- Tracey (1 region, Orange)
- May and Max (2 regions, Hoenn, Kanto BF)
- Dawn (1 region, Sinnoh)
- Iris and Cilan (2 regions, Unova and Eastern Unova)


So have Iris and Cilan been the first characters since Misty/Brock to stay for a second arc?

Episode N is an arc from the fandom view and the writers view but in the producers eyes it is still part of BWS2. However it is an arc. Any time a new story is shown it is a new arc. (Well if it is a major new story change)

1 region yes, but the number of I guess "arcs" depends on if Ash is chasing another goal again. For example I do count the Orange Islands and Kanto Battle Frontier as separate quests since Ash had a new goal of collecting badges and symbols respectively. So if Ash has another quest like that then yes I would consider them being 2 arcs, if not then it's just an addition to the Unova quest.

I'm honestly not sure if Iris will stay. Considering she might take over as opelucid gym leader, and the fact that ash is meeting someone else starting their adventure, it's possible that new person will take over iris at some point. Cilan, on the other hand, I think he'll definitely stay.

BF and Orange Islands count as separate sagas but their still apart of AG and OS respectively. Ash actually left to travel a different region with new battle agendas in mind. In Episode N Ash is still travelling Unova and as of yet he doesn't have a new gym challenge and he's not competing in different Battle Facilities
