OkikuMew: With no idea of whether or not you are even understood you attempt to explain in several different languages that you have come to this village in peace. After what feels like an eternity, but is in actual fact only a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, you breathe a sigh of relief as the spears are lowered. Unwelcome glares turn to welcoming smiles, and Phanpy trumpets its approval as those who appeared ready to draw and quarter you only seconds ago are now welcoming you with open arms. Leading you to a hut in the centre of the village that is much larger than the rest, you are met by an elderly man and a young girl.

"I am Idil," says the girl with a welcoming smile, "and this is my father Badru, Chief of the Loxodonta tribe." Chief Badru nods, unsmiling, the motion a little stiff, and you have the distinct impression he's not as welcoming or as trusting of you as Idil and her fellow villagers appear to be. "Tonight we will celebrate the safe return of our beloved Phanpy who was taken by poachers who have been trying to locate our tribe. We were afraid we may never see Phanpy again but here you are, bringing Phanpy safely home. For now please rest, you have travelled a long way, and tonight we will celebrate."

Several hours later you're sitting amidst the villagers beside a beautiful oasis. Tables are laden with delicious looking food including fresh fruit and various kinds of freshly cooked meals, the smell of which is making your mouth water. Some lovely coloured beverages sit in large bowls so you may help yourself, a couple of which smell suspiciously like alcohol. At least these guys know how to party. The sound of drumbeats fill the air as the music starts, and as tribal dancers begin to move around the campfire Idil takes a seat by your side.

"I hope you enjoy yourself this evening," she smiles, clearly attempting to help you feel at ease. "Tonight is more than a celebration of Phanpy's return, but of our continued safety," Idil explains, amused upon observing your confused expression. "Our village has remained hidden for centuries, and with the exception of the odd traveller stumbling across it by mistake the only way to find us is with the help of one of our Phanpy or Donphan. There are two villages, each responsible for protecting a sacred artefact. Should these two artefacts be brought together the holder will have great power and so they were separated and the two villages hidden by the Gods. There are some who wish to obtain these artefacts, however, and one day when our most adventurous Phanpy wandered too far from the village it was taken and tortured but would still not reveal our location. If not for you Phanpy would have died protecting our sec..."

... Suddenly loud explosions shatter the party atmosphere, cutting off Idil as she speaks. Gunfire and screaming replaces the music and laughter. Celebration turns to chaos as what seems to be an army of jeeps descend upon the village, their occupants hell-bent on killing everything in sight. Women and children run for cover, the village men immediately attacking the intruders, many cut down before they can protect their families and friends as they are no match for the intruders modern weaponry. As you are trying to take in the chaos that has erupted around you, you recognise the face of the two men in a truck that pulls up next to you. The bulky guy hops out, his black eyes now gleaming with arrogant pride. "I need to thank you miss," he drawls. "You led us right to it, just like I thought you would. You may have lied your way out of my questions, but that tracking devise I planted on your backpack told me the truth. Because you were so helpful I'll make sure you live, but I can't say the same for anybody else here tonight." Done with you he turns his attention to Idil. "Ok little lady, you know why we're here. Take us to it now and nobody else needs to die..."
After a few moments that felt like hours for Okiku, the spear-wielding guards lowered their weapons. She sighed heavily and drooped her head and shoulders in relief, feeling she could just go "plat" on the ground. Himiko slowly redressed her back up, as if she tried to fix her ruffled hair from the stress and anger, and elegantly sat down. As for the Phanpy, it celebrated the moment of peace with a nice, happy trumpet sound. The men has changed their expressions completely, now beaming and glad to see the unexpected visitor instead of being intimidating and wanting to turn her and her Pokémon companions into a shish kabob. They quickly motion the small group to follow them, which they lead them into the largest hut of the village, which stood right in the middle of it and sheltered an old and important-looking man sitting beside a girl, younger than Okiku.

"I am Idil, and this is my father Badru, Chief of the Loxodonta tribe," the girl introduced themselves with a bright smile, while Badru simply gave a dry nod, definitely giving the vibe that he wasn't as accepting towards the outsider.

"Hello, my name is Okiku," she slightly bowed towards both of them, although a bit shakily from still being a little nervous from the encounter earlier. "and my Espeon here is Himiko," the Sun Pokémon bowed down, as if she curtsied a noble. "I'm sorry for the small ruckus I made earlier, it wasn't my intention to get your people ruffled up..."

Idil seemed to be forgiving though, as she continued speaking without a single hint of concern. "Tonight we will celebrate the safe return of our beloved Phanpy who was taken by poachers who have been trying to locate our tribe. We were afraid we may never see Phanpy again but here you are, bringing Phanpy safely home. For now please rest, you have traveled a long way, and tonight we will celebrate."

"Why, thank you!" the young woman perked up, not expecting to receive such hospitality. "I do hope the Phanpy receives good care though; as much as I have traveled a long way, the little guy went through a lot more than I had."

A few hours later, Okiku was sitting along with Loxodontans (Loxodontians? Or Loxodontens?) beside their source of water, an oasis so sparkling and pristine you would swear Suicune somehow came for a visit there at some time. With all the delicious food and bowls of beverages on the tables, combined by being starved and parched after walking under the sun for so long, she just couldn't help but dig in gluttonously into the most exotic buffet she ever saw in her life. Everything was just simply exquisite for the girl's palate, even their few alcoholic juices, which she is usually very picky with, were just right to her taste! Himiko, although she was more delicate and tactful about her manners, she also couldn't resist scarfing down a fruit or two and even a little bit of cooked meat. As things seemed to not being able to get any better than this, music flowed into her ears and tribal dancers started to rhythmically sway and stomp around the campfire. The scene was catchy enough for the Kanto girl to balance her head left and right and tap her feet to the sound of the drums, while chewing down a part of was her third – or was it her forth? She lost count – plate of food. At that moment, Idil took a seat beside her.

"I hope you enjoy yourself this evening," the girl smiled, trying to make the stranger feel more comfortable.

"I-" Okiku quickly closed and covered her mouth, as she chewed and swallowed her bite of smoked meat before starting to talk. "...Sorry," she embarrassingly chuckled before her voice turned cheerful and even a bit loud tone without her noticing. "As I was about to say, I sure am enjoying myself! And it's quite the honor and privilege to be able to stay and celebrate with you, really! Everything's great – the music, the people... I admit don't know a third of the dishes served, but my tongue and stomach agree they don't mind knowing as they're all scrumptious!" she laughed for a moment. "Isn't that right, Himi?"

The Espeon gladly mewed in response, wagging her forked tail in a wavy matter.

"Tonight is more than a celebration of Phanpy's return," Idil elaborated, "but of our continued safety."

"...Your safety?" the gormandizing woman asked with her eyes wide open in both confusion and curiosity, with her hand holding her cup of fruit punch up halfway towards her lips.

"Our village has remained hidden for centuries," the chief's daughter explained, after chuckling at her guest's priceless expression on her face, "and with the exception of the odd traveler stumbling across it by mistake the only way to find us is with the help of one of our Phanpy or Donphan. There are two villages, each responsible for protecting a sacred artifact. Should these two artifacts be brought together the holder will have great power and so they were separated and the two villages hidden by the Gods." Okiku's jaw dropped and awed upon learning all this, realizing how lucky she was to stumble on the Phanpy who helped her entering one of the two secret villages, and how fascinating the story behind them was. "There are some who wish to obtain these artifacts, however, and one day when our most adventurous Phanpy wandered too far from the village it was taken and tortured but would still not reveal our location. If not for you Phanpy would have died protecting our sec..."

Sudden explosions cut off the conversation, startling everyone.

"Fireworks...?" the guest mumbled... and hoped.

But the Pokémon trainer's hope sunk into despair as alerting screams echoed through the whole village, accompanied with a familiar roaring of motors and more explosions, which after paying more attention, were... gunshots. A shiver crawled down Okiku's spine.

"...N-not fireworks," she stuttered, as she quickly joined her Espeon and her backpack under the table.

Right before her eyes, the oasis paradise turned into a nightmarish hell more brutal than the desert. As many women and children ran for their lives to their homes and wherever they could hide, an army of jeeps drove through the place, shooting every living thing on sight. The village's guards and even some of the farmers tried to thwart the invader's advances, but their spears, shovels and rakes did absolute squat from stopping those jeeps... and protecting them from those shotguns' bullets.

Okiku just... couldn't believe it. Moments ago she was like in a dream, to the next she was now in a horror movie... but, unless she was going crazy and getting hallucinations because of the heat, it was all real. It was all too real. She wished the party would last forever earlier (which is saying something, her who despises parties!), but now she just wanted out; she just wanted to wake up... NOW. She decided to grab her backpack in one arm and helped herself get out under the table with the other, then do like a tree and freakin' leaf... but on her way to escape out of the place, her route was blocked by a jeep which two muscled men were in... Two men who she, to her total surprise and disdain, recognized.

"I need to thank you miss," the bulkier guy hops out arrogantly said after he got off his vehicle. "You led us right to it, just like I thought you would."

"Quoi...?" Okiku instinctively gasped, completely lost of words for a split second. "...WHAT!? HOW THE F-"

"You may have lied your way out of my questions," he cut her curse short, "but that tracking devise I planted on your backpack told me the truth."

"...WHAT!?" she exclaimed even louder, now checking all over her bag... to find this coin-sized, black box-like device attached to it. With her shaking hands, she ripped it off, wondering how in the world they were able to put it there, when the closest they got to it was when they were right in front of her, and at least a meter away from her backpack...

"Because you were so helpful I'll make sure you live, but I can't say the same for anybody else here tonight. Ok little lady," he addressed to Idil, "you know why we're here. Take us to it now and nobody else needs to die..."

Now her whole body shaking and the tracking device clutched tightly in her hand, Okiku looked right into the man's eyes, while hers were filling with tears... But it wasn't from sadness. It was from complete, utter rage. She was boiling; it wouldn't even be surprising if smoke came out of her ears at this point. These men; these selfish, power-hungry and... just horrible men... They obviously wanted that all-powerful artifact MacGuffin number one (out of the set of two) the hidden village was protecting, that Idil mentioned earlier. They abused a defenseless young Phanpy to try to show the way towards it. They tricked and used her, her and her kindness and understanding towards the Pokémon and the Loxodonta tribe, which they lack of. And now, they are killing – KILLING – innocent and good people, just to use them as an example and hold the rest hostage to know the final resting place of the stupid thing, to obviously get their hands on it. It wasn't fair. They didn't deserve anything... anything but having their bodies... the whole lot of them, mashed into a pulp, skewered through their flesh, muscles and organs, then finally burned into black, toxic dust, just like their hearts must be filled with.

Without thinking, with her hands clenched into fists, Okiku quickly took a single, strong stomp towards the dark-eyed man. For some reason though, she simply couldn't take another step. Her body was strangely frozen into place. Wondering what the heck was going on, she looked towards Himiko. The Espeon was gazing right through her eyes, concentrating. She was using her psychic powers to restrain her; to not let her retort with violence, as she felt every bit of wrath her trainer had. Still enraged, Okiku opened her mouth widely to start reprimanding her Pokémon's action, but was suddenly shocked by a realization, once which was clouded by her uproar: The jeeps. The guns. The military-trained muscles of the attackers. Just as the villagers who tried to fight against them, she wouldn't survive against even just one man, even less so than an armed and armored guard, or even a hard-working farmer. Even her Pokémon wouldn't stand a chance: They may be powerful, but a single shot would do the trick to take care of them. (Well maybe one of them, her Shuppet Omenya, could be immune to bullets; but even as a ghost, him alone wouldn't be enough to beat up an army.) And anyways, they could just shoot her before she calls them out. In short: if she tried something right now, the man would definitely take back his words on the "keeping you alive" part. Which, obviously, would mean abandoning both her Pokémon and the village she fell in love with. Not to mention all her family and friends, who at first would be worried sick from not hearing from her, then grieve upon hearing her fate.

As Okiku's body loosen up, ditching her initial, spontaneous idea, Himiko in turn removed the telekinetic hold she had over her. However, it didn't completely remove the woman's furor, as she now stomped around in circles, mad as a Beedrill about the situation.

"Osti de tabarnak DE CALLISSE!" she swore increasingly loud, as she slammed the tracking device as strong as she could against the ground, in sync to her loudest roar of her rant. She stared at the broken device for a few moments, breathing heavily, before she buried her head between her shoulders. Overwhelmed by the sudden awareness of being unable to help and guilty of leading the marauders here, she turned her gaze towards Idil, streams of tears flowing down her cheeks.

"I'm so sorry..." she garbled faintly, "I'm... so sorry..."

She simply continued sobbing, feeling powerless and responsible of it all. She silently prayed and wished that later she'll at least be able to do something, anything, with a lot less risk involved, to fix this mess... Himiko Wished the same, as all she could do at the moment was to give emotional support, a Helping Hand, to her trainer.

gmoyes: The men grin broadly while you speak, the skinny one raising an eyebrow in question. You've taken this whole situation much more calmly than either had anticipated, perhaps because you feel relatively safe with Bravo as your bodyguard or perhaps just because you're not as phased as they'd thought you'd be. Whatever the case, both are surprised when you suddenly crouch down, their expressions immediately changing to that of surprise, confusion, then suspicion, but before either have a chance to properly react Bravo sets off a chain of devastating events by smashing the ground with all his might. The resulting Earthquake is more powerful than you'd imagined despite having known you'd be at its epicentre, the shockwaves passing through you with such force that you can't even think straight let alone make any kind of move to flee. The release mechanisms on the Pokéballs in your pockets activate, freeing Theta, Kilo, and Echo, all of whom immediately move into action. The poachers are furious, and while chaos erupts all around you with people yelling and screaming as they flee the collapsing building, the skinny one tackles you while the burly guy joins the fleeing crowd.

With nobody paying attention to the Pokémon anymore Phi does his thing and Teleports into the building, grabbing the two Nidoran, before Teleporting back out again. At least they are safe which is more than you can say for yourself, but luckily you have your Pokémon nearby or you'd be in a world of trouble right about now. Bravo pulls your attacker off you, throwing him to the side then you to your feet, and with the most powerful shockwaves over by now you're better able to focus on your escape route. The overzealous crowd, who had moments ago been eager to watch Pokémon fight to the death, were now mostly cleared out of the arena, the threat to their own lives clearly far more important than that of the Pokémon they had wanted to watch slaughter one other. With the roof caving in and the light fixtures falling and sparking setting off small fires in the room you need to get out of here fast but can't while you know there are other Pokémon who will die down here if you don't free them. Bravo pushes you toward the stairs where you can see Theta and Kilo Thundershocking stragglers in the rear, hurrying them forward to clear your path while he and Echo concentrate on releasing the caged Pokémon from their prisons.

Racing up the stairs you suddenly feel something hit you from behind causing you to fall flat on your face. Pain shoots through your temple as it connects with the stair, and when you wipe your hand across your head you see the resulting blood. Grappling on the stairs with the enraged poacher you're starting to think you'll never get out of here when the man suddenly becomes airborne thanks to Echo's Psychic, flung several metres across the burning room. He roars with rage, the sound so feral its barely distinguishable as human, getting to his feet and running at you with fury in his eyes. You begin clambering backward up the stairs, only to witness something you hope you'll never again see in your lifetime. The Pokémon that have been held captive for the sole purpose of fighting, many of them with quite nasty looking injuries and scars, descend upon the man putting an immediate stop to his attack on you. In the few seconds you watch on in horror you can make out Houndoom, Mightyena, Growlithe, Persian, Eevee, Mawile, Lairon, Granbull, Hitmonchan, Weavile, Marowak, and Sandslash, before Bravo and Echo snap you out of your state of shock and get you moving up the stairs while horrific screams echo up the stairway behind you.

Seconds later you burst out of the building and into the street with your Pokémon in tow only to find yourself facing an angry mob headed by the burly dude. You are the one who had not only uncovered their secret fighting ring, but destroyed it, and it appears they're wanting revenge. The crowd stays back, however, while Burly steps forward, tossing a Pokéball forward to reveal a Steelix. The mob begins to chant, "Steelix! Steelix! Steelix!" and you feel like you've just escaped one hell only to enter another...

The two poachers gave surprised smirks when Alex responded with his bet. He himself was also a little surprised by his response, but there was no time for anyone to react to it before Alex’s plan went into action. Alex was glad he decided to crouch before the quake went off, he’d have a much shorter distance to fall. Also with the vibrations making his brain rattle inside his head, he really couldn’t do much else, but from the flashes of light he gathered that reinforcements had arrived. He figured that he needed them with the chaos he just created. People were realizing that the place was coming down on their heads and rushed to make their escape.

Before Alex himself could recover, the thinner of the two poachers launched himself at the young researcher. He was completely outmatched by the man, but he managed to prevent himself from being knocked out early. Even in the middle of the struggle, out of the corner of his eye he saw Phi appear in the ring to evacuate the two Nidoran. At least something had gone according to plan. But Alex had more pressing matters, literally, as the poacher had managed to pin him down. Fortunately Bravo had his back as he threw the man of its trainer. “Thanks Bravo,” Alex said in a hoarse voice. The Metang gave a salute in response.

Staggering to a stand, he looked around at the carnage. Most of the people who were there to watch the fights had already made their exit with Theta and Kilo giving the stragglers extra motivation with their electric attacks. Some of the beams that supported the ceiling had fallen and sparks from broken wiring had ignited fires in some places. His two steel/psychic types were going around the room using their psychic powers to unlock the cages of the enslaved Pokémon. Alex gave a little cringe at his narrow sightedness of forgetting that there were many Pokémon that were trapped here, not just himself and the Nidoran. It’s pretty bad when floating pieces of metal had more empathy than he himself did.

He shook his head and made his way towards the stairs. This place was coming down around him. He certainly didn’t want to be in here when it did. As he started up the stairs, something slammed into him from behind. His head came down hard on one of steps. Dazed, he put his hand to his forehead and felt the sticky blood. Still stunned, he was practically defenseless against the poacher that had rammed into him. He struggled in vain against the man, but was surprised when he suddenly flew off him. The man fell down the stairs and came to a rest where flames were encroaching. Alex was confused for a moment, but then he spotted Echo whose eyes just faded from blue. However before he could thank the Bronzor, the poacher staggered to his feet and gave a feral roar. From his position on the stairs, Alex could see the rage in his eyes. There was no question that the man was pissed. Everything he’s done was literally coming down around him thanks to a do-gooder teenager. He had never seen anyone with such rage, especially against himself.

The man gave another snarl and started to charge back towards the young researcher. Alex opened his mouth to issue an order to Echo for defense when the man was tackled to the floor by a Houndoom. The man struggled against the dog Pokémon, but it was joined by a gang of other Pokémon. In all, maybe a dozen of formerly captured Pokémon of varying species had turned on the poacher and were literally tearing him to shreds. Injured and stunned, Alex just sat on the stairs and blankly watched the horror that was unfolding in front of him. Then he was nudged in the shoulder and saw Bravo poking him.

    WE NEED TO MOVE.

Alex gave a weary nod. These Pokémon were out for revenge, even if he was the one who set them free, they may attack any human that got in their way. And seeing as he was in the middle of the only exit out of the room, he was in their way. With a groan he turned to go up the stairs and started half climbing/half crawling up them, trying to fight the pain, guilt and the tortured screams of the poacher as he ascended. He was flanked by Bravo and Echo and was joined by Theta and Kilo who were waiting at the top who must have been preventing anyone from going back down to the arena. He was glad that his Pokémon stayed by his side, he didn’t know how far he could make it without them.

When he staggered outside of the building, he almost collapsed at the sight that waited for him. Standing outside of the tavern stood a crowd of people headed by the partner of the poacher that had been killed inside. These were the people he forced out of the arena. And now the person responsible had shown himself. But instead of rushing him, the heavyset poacher seemed to take charge. There was a smirk on the man’s face as he threw a pokéball and released the massive Steelix that was contained within it and the crowd cheered at the sight of the iron snake. Alex almost gave up right there. He had greatly underestimated these poachers, he didn’t think that they were capable of running a fighting ring or having a Pokémon that powerful. That Steelix had the advantage against all of his team members and they didn’t have much that they could return fire with. It may have been different if he had Phi and a few of his other Pokémon, but with the four he currently had with, it would be next to impossible. He was in no shape to run, though he may be able to cling to Bravo, he had no idea where to run to. These guys had the hometown advantage and with so many of them, it wouldn’t be long for them to track him down. It was hopeless.

He looked at the four steel types that surrounded him and nine eyes looked back at him. With that look, he knew that he couldn’t give up, it would condemn his Pokémon to cages and being forced to fight against their will. He needed to think about this, there had to be some way to get out of here in one piece. He closed his eyes for a moment and sighed. He pictured his aura flickering with blue courage. He knew he needed it. As he cleared his mind, a couple of pieces came together. Phi was still out there and as far as he knew no one knew about him. “Bravo,” he whispered, “try to contact Phi. Is he in the clear?”

There was a slight pause before the Metang responded. HE BELIEVES HE IS.

“Tell him to track down a Pokémon Center or Sheriff’s Office and look for help and lead them here. What happens to the Nidoran is up to him.”

    RODGER. MESSAGE SENT.

“Ok. There is something else I want you to do.” There was another source of reinforcements available, but potentially more dangerous. “I want you to go back down to the arena and try to convince the Pokémon that were trapped there to fight alongside us. We need their help.” If anyone would help them wipe this guy out, it would be their victims. An enemy of my enemy is my friend, right? There was a Houndoom, he swore he saw the spikes of a Sandslash, the head crest of a Weavile and a bunch of others. There was a type advantage there and the more allies they had the better. They saw the Metang free them so they knew it was a friend. “If there is any debris in the way, use Psychic to clear it.”

RODGER. Bravo gave a salute and moved off.

Alex nodded and glared at the poacher and the Steelix. With his heaviest hitter off to gather allies, he couldn’t take this challenge head on. Even with Bravo he wouldn’t be able to win in a straight fight. That’s why he sent Bravo instead of Echo, the Bronzor had more tactical moves that he could use to stall for time until reinforcements came. There was also the fact that the Metang had already used its strongest move.

He could’ve stalled for time by talking, but he sucked with words and quite frankly, he didn’t have words for this bastard. “Ok guys, let’s do this. Stay high, spread out. Echo, stay close to me.” He took a breath. “Echo, Voodoo Bugaloo. Theta, Kilo, while it’s stunned, Hidden Power (Grass) and Flame Charge. Theta, follow up with Supersonic and Echo use Confuse Ray.” Then he gave a sharp look at the Klink. “Kilo, Vicegrip on the poacher.” He took a breath to steady himself. He knew it was illegal to attack a trainer with his Pokémon, but he didn’t care. He hoped that with a part of his anatomy caught between the gears, the poacher would be too preoccupied to give orders to the confused Steelix. The fact that the snake was mentally assaulted by both hearing and sight and it would be just been hit by a fire and grass type move and there were no Pokémon of those types around, meant it should be very confused. With any luck, the Steelix would turn on the crowd and disperse it.

This could be a short fight. If the crowd decided to join the fight, he would have been overwhelmed in no time. At least he had a couple advantages. Numbers was obvious, but from what he remembered, Steelix didn’t have much in the line of ranged attacks and what it did have wasn’t very effective on his guys. And the only way they could get hit by its ground attacks would be if they were grounded. He had to make sure they didn’t get pinned and pray to Arceus that help would arrive soon.

    Forest of Adventure

Missingno. Master: You remained crouched behind the bushes as the young girl and her Ivysaur secured the poacher and her Gothitelle who were sleeping soundly, the Ivysaurs Sleep Powder was obviously potent stuff. The girl searched you out reaching your position and spoke to you through the bushes hoping you would reveal yourself so she could thank you properly. You gave it some thought, you were on a mission and something in the back of your mind was telling you to stay hidden but ... she appeared to have the same goal as you and even if she hadn’t killed the poacher as you had intended to do she had subdued her and prevented her from killing the Seviper. You share a look with Myrtle before tucking the dagger into your belt and standing up revealing yourself fully and approaching the girl pointing out that she was after the poacher too. The girl smiles at you and nods looking down at her Pokemon who had wrapped the pair in thick vines.

“Yes, we have been tracking for days now and we had planned to ensnare her before she noticed but ... I gave our position away,” she said sighing and running her hand across her brown hair long in its plait. “The Psychic was painful, my chest is still hurting but its nothing some healing herb won’t cure and Ivy is stronger than she looks” she says fondly as Ivy grunts and begins to drag the pair towards a wooden trolley with small wheels. It seemed that the girl had plans to transport the poacher away. The girl suddenly notices the Tentacool in your arms and her eyes light up with recognition and she pats the poison Pokemon on its head.

“Well hello there friend, I had not seen you around lately, I had wonder what adventure you had gotten into.” She said and you wondered how she could know Tentacool who waved a tentacle at the girl. It caught your look of confusion and shrugged, as much as a Tentacool could shrug. It was then you could get a proper look at the girl, she was dressed in a green tunic and brown trousers, her belt held a whip with delicate pink roses along the hilt. Her eyes were similarly checking you out and she noticed the Thorn Dagger in your belt and her eyes widened.

“So that’s why you were hunting the poacher,” she whispered looking a little apprehensive before she smiled again.

“I’m Bella and I can see that you were admiring my whip” she said pulling it off her belt holding it out so you could see it closer. “It was gifted to me when I joined the Tao of the Rose, just as that Dagger was gifted to you. We’re taking the poachers back to our lands, I’d like it if you’d come too, we can show you another side to this forest” she said mysteriously. Would you take her up on her offer or return to the base empty handed?

    Mediville

MarbleZone: Spike was showing his passionate spirit in defending you but he was beginning to tire, this was no normal Gengar and it was taking its toll on him. The energy bequeathed to him during evolution was beginning to ebb away and you were already running through the consequences of losing this battle in your mind. Spike was also running through the battle in his own mind that was fully of fury and bloodlust and all he could see was the target. The thought of losing never entered his mind, neither had the thought of giving in, he was going to see this through to the end and had already begun to power up another attack. You could see Spike prepare another Outrage and felt panic in your chest, what if he collapses after this attack, what if his mind gave way to confusion? There must be something else and then you remembered the Ralts in Raz’s arms who was observing the battle with something akin to fear and wonder in its eyes. You approach the little feeling Pokemon and plead for its assistance, hoping that it knows Double Team and may be able to distract Gengar long enough to Spike to score a hit or distract it away from him should he succumb to confusion. Ralts tears his eyes away from the oversized ghost to look at you and it blinks a few times before looking down at its body almost in confusion as it was wondering how to perform the move. Raz suddenly tightens his grip on the Pyschic Pokemon causing it to gasp and flail in his arms, the young lad too focused on the ghost and unknowingly halting your plan. Ralts looked to be too distracted itself to even try to help out but perhaps this was more fortuitous than you knew as Gengar stopped taunting Spike to look up at the commotion. Spike covered in blue dragon energy roars and charges right into it with another Outrage catching it by surprise. Gengar stumbles and falls back just as Spike follow suit exhausted by the attack. Gengar flickers again revealing that purple orb in its centre. It gives you one last smile before it collapses down sweeping an arm out taking out a few jars of a mysterious looking violet powder. Spike looks up feeling stronger all of a sudden as he Levels Up. Gengar begins to fade into nothing as if it never existed and you feel relief in your chest followed by it tightening. You cough as the purple powder from the jars rises up into a thick smoke that burns your nose and makes you light headed. Raz was cheering at the defeat of the Gengar behind you but it sounded very far away. Spike looked at you with tired eyes filled with confusion as you yawn no longer able to keep your eyes open. You collapse to the ground as the sound of Raz yelling for you fills your ears followed by silence ...

You yawn and roll over not ready to wake up but you feel something poking you. You swat them away, you had had a long and tiring day fighting off giant Gengar’s and you deserved your rest. The Poking wouldn’t let you however and you’re forced to open your eyes. The room you were in was dark with very little lighting, just a few gas lamps in the corners and no windows. You face the source of the poking, a girl around your age with black hair and violet eyes staring down at you. She stops poking you and sighs breaking into a wide grin,

“About time you woke up” she said standing up and smoothing out her purple dress before offering you a hand up. Once you’re up she drops her smile and looks at you seriously with a pleading look in her eyes.

“We don’t have much time; I need to speak to you. You need to understand, you can’t trust that boy. You can’t trust Raz.” She says plainly watching for your reaction.

The girl smiled and nodded, confirming that she had indeed been after the poacher. She and her Ivysaur had planned to ensnare the poacher before she could take notice, but she had given their position away by mistake. She went on to add that the Psychic had been painful, but some healing herb would be all she needed, and the Ivysaur, apparently named Ivy, was stronger than she looked. As she said this, the Ivysaur proceeded to drag the poacher and her Gothitelle over to a wooden trolley with small wheels, obviously to transport them away.

And then, Keith could not possibly have seen coming what happened next. While he was busily thinking of potential cover stories so as to not give away just why he was after the poacher in the first place, this suddenly proved unnecessary, for the girl seemed to recognize the Tentacool clutched in Keith's arms. Tentacool waved at the girl, then shrugged her tentacles in response to Keith's look of confusion- evidently, the Water/Poison-type was just as much in the dark about this as he was. And then, Keith noticed the whip being stored in the girl's belt- it had delicate pink roses along the hilt. Before Keith could say anything, he realized where the girl was looking- right at the Thorn Dagger in his belt. She looked a tad apprehensive as she voiced her realization as to why Keith had been hunting the poacher, but smiled again before introducing herself as Bella. She explained that her whip had been gifted to her when she- of course! Keith recalled what was said to him- there were two organizations dedicated to serving the forest. The Tao of Thorn, which Keith seemed to be in the process of joining, and the Tao of Rose, which Bella was claiming to be a part of. "Well, good to meet you, Bella," Keith replied. "I'm Keith. This is Myrtle," he added, gesturing to the Ghost-type floating next to him.

    "Hel-lo," Myrtle added.

"And, well, you've already established that you know Tentacool here," continued Keith. Bella then said that she and Ivy were going to take the poachers back to their lands, and invited Keith to come with her. Keith had to think about this, but only for a moment. Perhaps it'd be a decent idea to see how the other Tao operated. It was piquing his curiosity, in any case, so it's not as though he was about to refuse. "OK, sure," he agreed. "So, how is it you know Tentacool here, anyway?" he added, voicing something else that he was wondering about. He wasn't sure why this was bugging him, but it somehow struck him as odd that Tentacool didn't seem to know any more about this girl than Keith did, despite the girl seeming to know Tentacool very well.

Rummaging about in your pack as the glow brightens and expands you finally toss the item you've been searching for across the room, your heart skipping a beat as catches the Dawn Stone. Gloom realises it's in trouble and screeches quite shrilly, summoning help, and while you watch the glow fade to reveal a new and excited performing a pirouette whilst clutching the stone tightly, you catch a glimpse of an Oddish and Bellossom appearing to aide their friend while Rags begins to glow again. Oddish starts releasing a sparkling pink powder, the Sweet Scent wafting toward the still-spinning Kirlia but the breeze Rags is generating sends the powder floating off into the far corners of the room where it slowly dissipates. Bellossom sends a flurry of Magical Leafs Rags' way, but again the attack does little whilst he is in the process of evolving. Finally the light fades and appears looking handsome as Gallades go, taking on an attack stance, ready to do battle! Gloom readies itself to spew up another Acid only to be met with an intimidating glare from the newly evolved Rags that leaves it temporarily Disabled, instead suffering a rather extreme case of heartburn as the acid moves back down its throat. Rags' fist again bursts into flame and Gloom shrieks as it is slammed by another Fire Punch, this time left unconscious while Oddish and Bellossom move in to take Gloom's place...
(OoC: It’s been a while so I’m rusty on my RP’ing. So please point out any flaws I might make.)

Lucas felt his heart settle a bit when Rags caught the Dawn Stone. The Gloom feeling the need to shriek for help proved that it knew what was about to go on. But the battle wasn’t over just yet unfortunately. The Gloom’s cry for help was answered as two more Pokémon appeared by its side. “Huh? What on earth are those,” Lucas asked himself. He closes his backpack and pulls out the his Pokédex to identify the two newcomers. Just then, the Ralts who had slowly been growing stopped doing so, it’s new form still glowing white from all the energy the Dawn Stone emitted. His new form spun in place majestically while the smallest one of their opponents sent out a Sweet Scent. The winds easily sliding past Rags as he spun in place. The Pokédex beeped, providing information on a new Pokémon.

That doesn’t look like one of the two. Lucas clicked a few times on his Pokédex. “Oh,” he said out loud, his face lighting up. “It’s the middle stage.” He clicked the image away and aimed his Pokédex again towards the battle. This time the Pokédex was miraculously able to record two at the same time.

A further small search on his revealed the two to be of the same evolution line as the Gloom; an Oddish and a Bellossom, but there was something was off. Scrolling through the information provided, it seemed that there were a few places left open or missing in detail. It’s almost like we’re missing an evolution. Would that mean that there’s one more opponent in this room? He didn’t have too much time to think about it though as Rags’ white form had grown quite a lot and was about ready to finish his evolution. The flower Pokémon, the one now identified by the Pokédex as Bellossom, made another vain attempt at damaging Rags by sending forth a Magical Leaf.
Lucas smirked as Rags glow was now fading, revealing a fully grown Pokémon. This is Rags ultimate form, he thought to himself. The Pokémon known as Gallade.

On the other side of the battle, Lucas noticed that the Gloom attempted another attack. Rags finally opened an eye, his piercing stare coming from below his helmet struck fear in the Gloom. “Now R-.” Lucas was cut short. The Gallade remembered his orders and didn’t need to be told twice. He was charging in, his fist glowing with energy before erupting into flames and striking a final blow to his combatant. The added physical bulk of his evolution was enough to make the his Fire Punches deal some real damage. Their other two opponents stepped in to block the Gallade. Lucas said nothing for a while as he thought about whether coming from the same species line might have meant that the Pokémon were related to each other. He knew it didn’t matter though. If they were to get out of this room, they’d have to complete the chamber’s challenge which would entail having to knock out everyone that opposed them. He wasn’t worried about that. He grinned as he thought about how easy the battle seemed now that Rags has a newfound power. Despite the toxic air, he was feeling better. “Rags!” he finally shouted. “Start with the smaller one.” Not much else was needed to be said. The Gallade went off his instinct and charged in towards the Oddish, ready to use his new bladed arms to good use. His elbow was glowing with a sickly dark energy in order to deliver a series of Night Slashes.

    Forest of Adventure

Missingno. Master: Your eyes widen as you realise that this girl was claiming to be part of the Tao of the Rose, the other protectors of the forest you were informed of. You couldn’t be sure of her honesty but she had no apparent reason to lie and that fact that she was hunting poachers did indicate she was at least trying to protect the forest. Her whip looked like a perfect accompaniment to your dagger that was equally beautiful covered in wrapping vines with thorns. You greet her equally with as much enthusiasm as you introduce yourself and your Shuppet Myrtle who spoke aloud to the pair. Bella looked a little shocked that your ghost could speak human but she composed herself and smiled warmly.

“Hello to you both you have an unusual partner Keith, unusual but talented.” Ivy calls over to Bella to indicate that she was ready to move out and Bella waves back to her. You agree to go with Bella to check out her lands, it would be interesting and you follow her to the trolley with the secured poacher whilst you ask how Bella knows Tentacool and she smiles at the poison type.

“I have seen this Tentacool swimming the river that runs along our lands many times, I could recognise her anywhere. She always seemed curious to me, wanting to adventure throughout the forest, perhaps that’s how she found her way to you and the Tao that you have ... joined?” she said almost as a question. It was curious how she spoke of the Tao of the Thorn, almost if she was unsure about the clan. Tentacool looked sheepish and avoided your eyes; it seemed that she got around a bit and the others didn’t know this or she didn’t want them to know she had been exploring the lands of the Tao of the Rose. Bella picked up on this too and winked at the jellyfish, it’ll be our secret,” she says and Tentacool looked relieved. Bella picked up the trolley and looked to you hoping you’d help. You grab the other handles and walk with her carrying the load between you.

As you walk you notice how quiet the forest here was and Bella informs you that the Pokemon had sensed the poacher and had fled in fear, once they knew it was safe they would return. It was intriguing, Bella was less stealthy than Itzal and Tszila as she pulled the trolley along the forest floor, perhaps that’s why she was caught by the poacher, or perhaps they didn’t employ stealth and subterfuge as the Tao of the Thorn did; either way it was keeping the wild Pokemon away. The walk was long and Bella refused to stop along the way fearing the poacher would wake up.

For what seemed like 4 hours you walked feeling the pain in your feet and your calves throb when you near a small waterfall gushing down a hillside with large trees surrounding it. Bella looks around quickly before pressing a switch in the rock face parting the water revealing a cave behind it. She grins at your awed look and you follow her inside still pulling the trolley. A short walk through the cave and you come to a large clearing surrounded by cliffs isolating it from the rest of the forest. Within the clearing is a settlement, a matching waterfall sits at the other end of the clearing feeding into a river that Bella must have meant when she saw Tentacool. The settlement had homes of hardy huts, some built into trees with wooden bridges connecting them. There were plantations of berries growing by each hut and several older men and woman were tending to them. The Tao of the Rose were dressed similarly to Bella in earthy plain clothing and many of them were accompanied by Grass Pokemon who were equally as busy tending the lands. Some of the children were battling their Pokemon in a secluded spot away from the workers giving you the idea that it wasn't all work here. Bella waves to an elderly woman with thick white braided hair and a supported on a gnarled walking cane. An impressive Torterra stood by her side looking imposing and stoic. Bella steers the trolley towards the woman before fisting her hand over her chest and bowing.

“Good Day Raine, I have returned with the poacher as promised,” she said as the Raine looked down at the slumbering woman and her Pokemon, her gaze soon turns to you and your Pokemon and her eyes narrow as she spots your Thorn Dagger.

“Yes I can see, and you appear to have a boy by your side too with a Poison Pokemon in his arms and a dagger by his side.” Bella nodded looking a bit abashed.

“Yes that is true Raine, I would have failed in my goal to capture the poacher had Keith not intervened, he helped to distract her long enough to Ivy to secure her. If he had not, I might not be here today.” She said lowering her head at her near failure. She peered up to see the stern face of Raine soften a little before she bowed to you.

“Then I thank you young Keith for saving our Bella,” Bella smiled at the approval and spoke quickly hoping that Raine would approve.

“I said I would show Keith around our lands, show him our ways whilst the poacher is dealt with.” Raine shared a knowing look with the young woman before nodding.

“Very well, I shall call the town police immediately; you may show him of our ways,” Bella grabbed your hand and pulled you away.

“What would you like to see first there is much to our lands that you may find interesting?” she asked you. This might be a good time to ask any questions you have too.

“What would you like to see first there is much to our lands that you may find interesting?” she asked you. This might be a good time to ask any questions you have too.
To Keith's mild amusement, Bella seemed very surprised by Myrtle's gift for human speech. He supposed it was a good thing he hadn't brought Meowth or Vinny with him, then- ghosts that could speak human language were not uncommon, so if Myrtle threw her for a loop, he could only imagine how she'd react to a talking Meowth or Numel. Myrtle gave a small, satisfied smirk as Bella referred to her as "unusual but talented", but otherwise said nothing in response.

Then, the subject turned to Tentacool- turns out, she had something of a habit of swimming the river which runs across the two lands, and that she had seemed curious, always wanting to adventure through the forest. Keith couldn't help but grin at Tentacool- she seemed to have just as much a thirst for adventure as he did. Then, Bella remarked on how Tentacool found her way to the Tao of Thorn, though the way she said it, it was almost like she was asking whether Keith had joined it. "Truth be told, I'm not exactly a member yet," Keith explained. "I'm still undecided about whether I'm going to join them full-time, they gave me this mission to see how I'd fare." He said nothing more on the subject, but on the inside, Keith wasn't feeling very certain about becoming a full-time member of the Tao of Thorn. Much as he loved working alongside Poison-types, and as much as he knew that what they did was for the right reasons, and as much as Myrtle heartily approved of this particular line of work... Keith couldn't help but dwell on his unwillingness to end the poacher's life, even knowing full well that she deserved it.

He was snapped out of this by Bella, who was holding the trolley and looking expectantly at him. Keith nodded and grabbed the trolley, and helped her pull it. The first thing he noticed was how quiet the forest was, and Bella was quick to explain this- the wild Pokémon in the area, sensing the poacher, had fled in fear, and they'd return once they knew it was safe. It likely wouldn't be very long, either, Keith thought, now that the poacher was in custody. He also observed Bella's decidedly less stealthy movements. Was she not especially skilled at stealth? That would likely account for her giving away her position and getting caught by the poacher... or did the Tao of Rose simply not operate with stealth the way the Tao of Thorn did?

Either way, the walk was a long one, and Keith's feet started to hurt after a while. Silently, he cursed himself for not thinking to bring Salazar with him. Riding on the back of his Scolipede was surely the only way to travel, and it'd be a hell of a lot easier on his feet. Besides, Salazar was strong- he probably could've pulled the trolley even while taking passengers. But before Keith could dwell on this much longer, they approached a small waterfall. After casting a furtive look around, Bella pressed a switch in the rock face. The water parted, and a cave was revealed, much to Keith's surprise and awe. Which must've shown on his face, judging by the grin Bella gave him. The walk through the cave was short, and soon, they came to a huge clearing, surrounded by cliffs on all sides, effectively isolating it from the rest of the forest. This reminded Keith of something- he had heard about one of the cities back in his home region of Hoenn, Sootopolis City- it was completely surrounded by rock on all sides. The only way in or out of the town, aside from Flying, was to Dive underwater and go through a small underwater cave. He had never actually been to Sootopolis, but if he ever had, he supposed it might be something like this.

There was a settlement within the clearing, with huts built everywhere, some even built into the trees with bridges connecting them- this reminded Keith of another city in Hoenn he had read about; Fortree City. Supposedly, every single house in the city was built in a tree, with bridges connecting them. Again, it was nothing he had ever seen for himself, but this had to be close to it, he figured. And then, they stopped at last, Bella having steered the trolley towards an elderly woman supporting herself on a gnarled cane. Next to her stood a large, impressive-looking Pokémon, with what could pass for a small island, tree and all, on the back of its shell. Keith had never seen this kind of Pokémon before, and took out his Pokédex (making sure to unmute it in the process), pointing it at the creature.

"Torterra, the Continent Pokémon, and the evolved form of Grotle," droned the device. "Torterra's back tends to attract smaller Pokémon who like to build their nests there. Some Pokémon are born on a Torterra's back and spend their entire lives there."

"Wow," Keith remarked, impressed, as Bella explained to the woman, apparently named Raine, that she had returned with the poacher. Raine, however, looked at Keith, her eyes narrowed as she spotted the Thorn Dagger. She remarked on Keith's presence, as well as the Tentacool in his arms and the weapon in his belt, and Bella explained that it was due to Keith's intervention that she was able to capture the poacher, or even live to tell the tale, for that matter. Raine thanked Keith for saving Bella. "It was no problem," Keith replied modestly. "Honestly, though, it's Myrtle here you should be thanking," he added, gesturing to the Shuppet by his side. Myrtle tried to not smile in response to Keith's acknowledgement of her involvement, but betrayed a small grin nevertheless.

Bella then explained that she was going to show Keith around their lands and show them their ways while the poacher was being dealt with. As Raine approved of this (though the two shared a knowing look, which seemed to strike Keith as odd. Bella pulled him away, and asked what he'd like to see first, stating that there was a lot to their lands that he might be interested in. "Hmm," Keith replied. "Honestly, not sure where to start," he admitted, looking around. "This whole place looks so interesting... To be honest," he added, "I noticed those battles going on over there," he said, gesturing towards the secluded spot where the battles in question were taking place. "That's as good a place as any to begin, isn't it?" Myrtle rolled her eyes- being a Pokémon Trainer, Pokémon battling was something of a minor obsession of Keith's. "Also," Keith added, not having noticed Myrtle rolling her eyes, "maybe you can tell me a bit more about, you know, how this Tao operates? I mean, all I've been told is that you guys are also dedicated to serving the forest, albeit in a different way, by promoting growth," he said, the tone in his voice making it clear that this explanation wasn't enough to satisfy his curiosity.

Missingno. Master: There was so much to see, so much for your senses to explore and you were unsure where to begin. You had been taken in by the beauty of the Tao’s lands and the Pokemon who called it home. They may not be poison Pokemon but that giant Torterra had caught your eye and you were impressed by its sheer size. Perhaps that’s why you chose to explore the Pokemon battling and Bella was more than happy to show you. Your mind wanders and thinks over the knowing look that the two women had shared whilst talking, it was a little disconcerting and you wondered what it meant when you arrived to the area where a Pokemon battle was currently being held. The grasses were shorter here but there was little to mark the area as a true arena expect the space around it and the fact that it was away from the main buildings and plantations.

“The younger members like to train their Pokemon this way, it’s safer than going out into the forest and battling wild Pokemon though ... it wasn’t always this way.” Bella said with a sad smile. “There have been more encroachers to the forest that it hasn’t been safe for the children to wander out and play with the wild Pokemon, but that doesn’t stop some of the wild Pokemon seeking out our lands to live in,” she said smiling once again. There was a pair of boys battling their Pokemon whilst a girl their age judged the battle, they pitted a Skiploom against a Lombre and the latter appeared to have the other hand. Bella grabs your hand again drawing your attention away from the battle as she pulls you towards the plantations.

“We grow all our own vegetables, grain and berries here so we are almost self sufficient, recently the elders have allowed deliveries of meats into our lands from the outside but it has diversified our diet though” Bella guided you through the tall wheat fields and berry trees plucking a pair of Pecha Berries off for you and Myrtle to try. She then guides you towards a beautiful river and Tentacool jumps out of your arms into the cool waters and sighs happily before going for a swim. Bella sits down on the ground and urges you to do the same, it appeared that something was on her mind and she needed to speak to you.

“Keith, I don’t know how much the ninjas of the Tao of the Thorn told you but you shouldn’t believe everything they say. It’s true that we worked in harmony together once upon a time protecting the forest and its Pokemon but recently their methods and their mantra have gone too far. We’re all about promoting life here as you can see, we grow and nurture our lands but they taint the forest with death. They do stop the poachers and trespassers in the forest but by killing them but destroying their bodies they fill the forest with the stench of death. They’ve even gone so far as to kill innocents caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. How did you come across them, they are not so quick to let new members into their ranks?” She asked with interest, “you don’t seem like a killer to me. I was wondering, if you’d be interested in joining our Tao instead, you saved my life which is good enough for me?” You had heard two different stories from two different sides, were you getting the whole story? Would you consider exploring what this Tao has to offer or would you stick with your first choice and report back on reputation they have in the eyes of this clan?

Bella led Keith over to where the battle was taking place, though his mind was elsewhere... the look the two women had shared, what was that all about? Was there something between the two Taos that Keith wasn't aware of that made them somewhat distrustful of him? Was there some sinister, dark secret to the Tao of Rose that they didn't want to reveal? Was Keith overthinking this whole thing? That last one was a definite possibility, but Keith couldn't say for certain either way just yet.

He was snapped out of this, however, once they arrived at where the battle was being held- two boys were battling, one with a hovering green creature with a small yellow flower growing out of its head, and the other with a more humanoid Pokémon with a large lily pad on its head. Keith took out his Pokédex and scanned them both.

"Skiploom, the Cottonweed Pokémon, and the evolved form of Hoppip," droned the device. "Skiploom's petals open and close in accordance with the temperature. When the sun shines brightly, it opens its petals wide to take in as much as possible." Then, the image on the screen changed. "Lombre, the Jolly Pokémon, and the evolved form of Lotad. Lombre has a mischievous nature, and enjoys tugging on fishing lines to mess with fishermen. Lombre is the pre-evolved form of Ludicolo." Of the two, Lombre was a bit more familiar to Keith- how many times in his childhood had he seen Trainers heading over to the local Pokémon Gym with their Pokémon in tow? Sometimes they'd have Geodude or Nosepass, sometimes they'd have Sandslash or Numel, but usually, the challengers Keith would see brought Water-types with them to Lavaridge Gym. Lombre was a popular option for that, even though it was also part Grass, and Keith would see a lot of them around town.

Again, Keith found himself snapping out of it, this time by Bella speaking. She explained that the younger members of the Tao of Rose liked to train their Pokémon in this manner, and that it was safer than battling wild Pokémon in the forest these days, a fact that did not always hold true, she added with a sad smile, before directing Keith over to the plantations. She explained that they grew all their own vegetables, grain, and berries. They were nearly self-sufficient, and only recently did the elders allow for deliveries of meat from the outside, to diversify their diet. After this, she plucked a pair of Pecha Berries- one for him, and one for Myrtle. Keith took a bite of his. "Mmm," he remarked appreciatively.

"I have ta-sted worse," Myrtle conceded after taking a bite of hers', though she was not completely successful at concealing her smile.

After that, they arrived at a beautiful river, which Tentacool took as her cue to wriggle out of Keith's arms and jump into the water. As she swam around, Bella sat on the ground, urging Keith to do likewise, before going into something that had clearly been on her mind- she revealed to Keith that he shouldn't believe everything the Tao of Thorn says, that while they did work together in harmony once, their methods have been going too far as of late. While the Tao of Rose was all about promoting life, the Tao of Thorn tainted the forest with death- while they succeed in stopping the poachers and the trespassers, they've even killed innocent people caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Then, she asked Keith how he came across them, remarking that they weren't that quick to let in new members. Keith paused for a second before answering, not sure whether he ought to tell the entire truth of the matter, as it would inevitably mean revealing a part of his past he rarely talked about with people he just met. That said, it's not like he had much of a reason to lie to them... He settled on telling them most of the truth, but leaving out the part where he was nicked with the blade and injected with Drapion venom.

"Well, I was exploring the forest, when two members of them came up behind me," began Keith. "One of them held this blade to my throat, demanding to know whether I was one of them. The other one was more level-headed, though, and stopped the first guy before he could do anything rash. I happen to be a Poison-type Trainer, and I'm not too bad at it either, so they asked if I was willing to find out more about how they worked. I was kinda curious about it, so I agreed to go with them and see what they did. I kinda felt at ease with them because of all the Poison-types they worked with... They decided to give me a mission, more or less to see how I'd do, and that's how I wound up going after that poacher." Keith sighed as Bella stated that he didn't strike her as a killer, and invited him to join the Tao of Rose instead. However, it was Myrtle who spoke up in response to this.

"Your as-sess-ment of Meat Sack is cor-rect," she stated. "He is not a kil-ler."

Keith nodded in response to this. "Even when I was tracking that poacher, all I could think of was alternative ways to do this without having to resort to murder," he admitted, before going on to voice something that had been on his mind for a while now. "I... I don't think I'm cut out for the Tao of Thorn," he sighed. "I mean, I love Poison-types, but... I'm not a killer." He paused for a second, considering Bella's offer. He could just go back to the Tao of Thorn and report back, and tell them what kind of reputation they had with the Tao of Rose... but the more he thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt about going back there. Even if they did it for the right reasons (and that's IF they only did it for the right reasons, if there was any truth to what Bella said), the fact remained that they were killers, and Keith was not. No matter how much Myrtle approved of their line of work, it wasn't right for Keith, and he knew it. "I'll be honest, I'm starting to like the idea of joining you guys instead," he said. "I just hope my preference for Poison-types won't be that much of a problem," he added. "I mean, my first Pokémon was a Koffing. I have a Muk, a Nidorino, two Qwilfish, all kinds of Poison-types. I mean, I got a handful of Grass-types as well, but most of them are Grass/Poison."

Then, Keith realized that he still had a spherical object of some sort clutched in his left hand. He looked- it was Tentacool's Poké Ball. "Oh, yeah," he murmured, looking out at the river, looking at the swimming Tentacool. "They gave me Tentacool as my partner when they gave me that mission," he explained to Bella. "Said I shouldn't consider her to belong to me until I completed my mission. Obviously, me killing that poacher's not gonna happen now, but..." Keith sighed again.

"But you want to keep Ten-ta-cool a-ny-way," Myrtle interrupted. It was not a question, it was a statement.

"You heard them, Myrtle- Tentacool's venom had killed several of their potential recruits before, one of whom she had taken a liking to," replied Keith. "If I let her go back to them, what's she got to look forward to? More accidental deaths? More loss? More competing with that school of Qwilfish for food? I want Tentacool to have a better life than that," he stated.

He watched as the massive Gengar grinned one final time, wobbled and collapsed once and for all, vanquished by Spike's final Outrage. Somehow, the Primeape had mustered enough strength to win the seemingly impossible battle! He smiled and cheered Spike on as the fighter looked around in confusion. This was a victory they'd remember forever! Not just that, Spike seemed to have grown even stronger after the struggle! *Spike grew from Level 28 to 29!*

Just then, Gengar's body flickered again to reveal the purple orb in the middle once more... what the hell was that anyway? No Ghost-Type he'd ever heard of had a core like that, certainly not Gengar! So what was going on?...
The titan's armed raised in one final effort to get back up, but unable to do so, all it mustered was to knock down several of the containers on one of the shelves, breaking them and releasing their mysterious contents. Violet smoke mixed with the mist in the air to create a gaseous substance that burned the lungs even through the Silk Scarf, and before long, Levin found himself coughing uncontrollably and unable to focus. Raz's voice sounded ever more distant, and an unnatural narcolepsy dominated him as he fell to the ground in a deep slumber.

All the familiar faces he'd spotted earlier, while chasing Ralts around Mediville, were now lined up in front of him. His mother and father, Ivan, Calandra and her uncle from Phantom Isle, Christian from Cloud Garden, Andrew from Pielie Harbor, Professor Spencer Hale from the Ruins of Alph... They were all speaking in unison, urging him to wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up wake up...

    - Hnnngg... what happened?...

He opened his eyes slowly, one at a time. His head was killing him, as if someone was striking red-hot iron with a hammer and his head was the anvil...
Someone was poking him. Repeatedly, persistently, annoyingly... He despised being poked, especially when it woke him up. He was about to strike the offender when he heard her voice. A young woman's voice... He reconsidered the approach and instead turned to face her. She was about his age, he reckoned, with long black hair and unusual violet eyes. Her dress was also purple - a color he was beginning to grow a little weary of - and she offered a hand while urging him to get up. Mustering all his willpower to comply, he took her hand and rose to his feet, head still spinning. He took a look around; neither Raz nor Ralts were anywhere to be found, and he was somewhere he'd never been before - a small, poorly-lit room with no windows, just him and the girl within.

All things considered, could be a lot worse.

Although the company was certainly nice, the woman's speech intrigued him. The young boy, eager and excitable, on the hunt for his very own Pokemon like so many others his age... couldn't be trusted? He'd made a point not to trust anyone in the dream world anyway, but why would this stranger's word be any more trustworthy than the kid's? And even if there was more to him than met the eye, what threat could he possibly pose? Still... he'd humor her for now. What else could he do? And he had to admit, all of this was starting to really pique his interest...

    - I have no reason to trust you any more than Raz. At least I know his name, which is more than I can say about you... I have more questions than answers right now, so you'll have to indulge me for a moment. Who are you, where am I, where's Spike and what on earth are you talking about?

For some reason he wanted to believe her. Maybe it was a mistake, but she reminded him of Calandra somewhat... This whole adventure was becoming weirder by the minute, and he desperately needed someone he could trust other than his own Pokemon. He hoped this girl would be it, but who was to tell?

    Forest of Adventure

Missingno. Master: You had hardly known this girl and her Tao as much as you had hardly any knowledge on the other Tao you had first encountered but your gut was telling you to trust her. Her speech was enough to stir something within you, she was right, you were not a killer even your ghost backed her up on this. You wanted to protect the Pokemon as much as both groups but the Thorn’s methods made your stomach clench. You explain this to Bella and she nods knowingly with a comforting look in her eyes, it was if she could sense this in you. You explain your love of Poison types and how it made you feel that little bit closer to the Tao of the Thorn and hoped that it wouldn’t prevent your acceptance to this clan. Bella giggles and motions to Ivy who shimmies up to her lap.

“We may appear to favour Grass Types but Poison Pokemon are as much a part of the forest as are the bug, water and flying types some of us partner with. Ivy is both Grass and Poison and she is accepted as would any of your Pokemon. I’m surprised you have so many though, you must be a strong trainer to have caught so many, I knew you would be a valuable asset” she said blushing slightly.

You look towards the river where Tentacool swam happily splashing about carefree and you make sure Bella knows your stance on the jellyfish. You wouldn’t let her go back to a life of containment where she had nothing but death to look forward to. Tentacool looks over to you as she senses you talking about her and looks pensive before her eyes sparkle happily, she approves of your decision it would seem.

“Well this little adventurer would do much better with someone like you than any of the Tao of the Thorn, you’re a kind person I can tell and if she wants to stay with you then that is wonderful,” Bella says chuckling splashing the Tentacool who splashes her back. She suddenly jumps to her feet and grabs your hand.

“Come, we must tell Raine about you joining us, she’ll be pleased ... even if she doesn’t appear so,” she said chuckling and dragging you off in excitement. Suddenly a scream is heard and commotion near several of the grounded buildings. You have enough time to grab Tentacool as Bella rushes off to find out what was going on. You arrive in time to see several people thrown from the spot by the same Gothitelle that you had helped capture earlier. The poacher glares at the pair of you and you feel yourself thrown off your feet by the Psychic attack landing hard on your back. As you sit back up you see the poacher and her Pokemon run off through the entrance to the base. Raine approaches both of you a horrified look on her face.

“The sleep powder woke up before we could fully secure her, she killed her jailers before running away. She must be stopped, she mustn’t be allowed to reveal our position or poach any more Pokemon. The police are on their way, if we can re-capture her they will deal with her appropriately.”

“I’ll go,” Bella insists and Ivy nods looking forlorn that her Sleep Powder didn’t last long enough. She looks to you hoping that you would volunteer to assist her like before. It appears that this clan wasn’t very good at keeping their prisoners imprisoned, no wonder they need your help!

MarbleZone: The elation of your victory doesn’t last long as you collapse to the ground from the effects of the purple powder covering the floor. Spike was too confused to notice and the sound of Raz’s voice filled your ears as you fell asleep. As you awoke to the strange new surroundings with a new face to greet you, you were left with many questions and felt they needed addressing before you answered any of hers. You rise to you feet and are glad there are no more giant Pokemon threatening you here. You were a little thrown off by her statement, Raz may be over excited but he seemed genuine enough, he was just eager to capture Pokemon just like any kid his age. He had been the first to warn you against the dangers of the dream world. You decide to humour her interested in what she had to say, but first she needed to answer your questions.

“Yes, a name is important, a sense of identity I can see why you would ask”, she thinks for a moment before answering. “I have no name, just call me Girl,” she states leaving you frowning, what an odd thing to be called. She notices your look and smiles, “It is no different than calling a Pokemon by its species,” she says before moving onto your new question. “You are asleep and your Pokemon is not here as ... you are asleep” she says almost matter of factly. “I brought you here to warn you. Like I said, the boy is not what he seems, he lies and will lead you to nothing but danger.” As she spoke the walls of the room you stood in began to shake and she looked about alarmed.

“We are running out of time, I cannot fully explain, all you need to know that you must wake up. You cannot remain asleep, you must dream no more. You are in grave danger and that boy is the cause.” The walls shake again and crack sending dust flying almost knocking you over but the Girl stands unaffected. You are not sure what to believe, if she was the one to bring you here wasn’t she the one you should be wary of. The shaking picks up intensity and she closes the gap between you before reaching out and shoving you hard knocking you to the ground. As you hit the ground you feel a pull in your stomach and open your eyes to see Raz shaking you.

“Thank the lord, I was worried you’d never wake up after breathing in that horrible purple dust.” He says sitting back. You blink the sleep from your eyes as you look on in confusion, what had just happened? Spike stomps his way over to you actually looking concerned, he was no longer confused, how long had you been asleep. Looking around the room you see that the Gengar was gone now and the door behind you was not longer barred. Raz helps you up and you notice that Ralts is no longer in his arms but he was clutching a Pokeball tightly. He notices your look and smiles bashfully.

“Sorry, whilst you were asleep I captured Ralts, I couldn’t have done it without you. You not only saved me but helped me catch a new friend. I should repay you ... hey!” he exclaims looking excited. “Why don’t I show you to my parent’s farm, they’d be happy to give you a tour after what you did for me.” Would you take him up on his offer or would the warning given by Girl make you think twice?”

As Keith voiced his concerns regarding his preference for Poison-types, Bella explained that though the Tao of Rose seemed to favor Grass-types, Poison-types were just as much a part of the forest as the others. She then gave her Ivysaur, Ivy, as an example, given that she was both Grass and Poison. Then, blushing as she did so, Bella went on to express her surprise at how many Poison-types Keith had amassed, and stated that he must be a strong trainer. "Heh, thanks," Keith grinned modestly.

The conversation then turned to the Tentacool, who turned to look at Keith as he was talking about her. As she realized that he was talking about taking her in as a part of his team, her eyes sparkled happily, a fact that did not escape Keith's notice. He smiled at the Tentacool as Bella stated that she could tell that Keith was a kind person, and that it would be wonderful if Tentacool wanted to stay with him. "I take it that sounds good to you then, Tentacool?" asked Keith.

Before Tentacool could answer, however, Bella jumped to her feet and grabbed Keith's hand, stating that they should tell Raine about his joining them, and that she'd be pleased, even if she didn't seem like it. But before they could get going, a scream pierced the air, and a commotion could be heard near some of the buildings on the ground. Keith quickly scooped Tentacool into his arms, and he, along with Myrtle and Bella, hurried off to see what was going on.

"Oh, crap," Keith stated. For at that moment, he could see exactly what the problem was- the poacher had woken up, as well as her Gothitelle. The poacher glared at him and Bella, and suddenly, Keith found himself thrown off his feet by a forceful Psychic blast. He landed hard on his back, wincing- it was super effective. He sat back up, just in time to see both poacher and Gothitelle run off through the entrance to the base. It was then that Raine approached them, looking horrified, and explained that the Sleep Powder had worn off before the poacher could be fully secured, and that she killed her jailers before running away. Keith's mouth fell open in shock. Raine went on to stress the importance of stopping and re-capturing the poacher, lest she poach again, or reveal the Tao of Rose's position. Bella and Ivy volunteered almost immediately to pursue the poacher, the latter looking a little upset at how her Sleep Powder's effects wore off too soon. Bella turned to look at Keith expectantly, but this was pretty much unnecessary.

"Count me in, too," Keith stated.

    "Same here," added Myrtle.

"One minute, Myrtle," Keith said, turning to the Shuppet. "You think I don't know how much a single use of Curse takes out of you? I want you to rest in your Poké Ball, at least for the time being."

Though she looked rather sour at this suggestion, it couldn't be denied that Keith's words had truth to them. "Fine," grumbled Myrtle as Keith held up the Poké Ball, recalling the Shuppet to within.

"Alright, then," Keith stated, taking out another Poké Ball. "I think this one can help us stop that poacher," he added, removing another Poké Ball from his belt after reattaching Myrtle's ball to it. "Go, Hedwig!" he exclaimed, throwing the ball into the air, unleashing a large and impressive Crobat, who hovered in midair by flapping her four wings.

"Cro?" Hedwig said questioningly, descending until she was level with her trainer's head.

"OK, Hedwig, take off in that direction," Keith instructed her, pointing the way the poacher ran off. "As quickly and quietly as you possibly can, and I know both of those won't be a problem for you," he added with a smile. "You'll see a woman with a Gothitelle. I want you to blast them both with Supersonic to disorient them, then put them to sleep with Hypnosis. If either of them wakes up, reapply the Hypnosis immediately. And Hedwig," he added, an urgent tone to his voice now. "Be careful. That woman has no problem with killing people or Pokémon. Be on the lookout for any weaponry, and watch out for the Gothitelle's Psychic attack."

"Bat," nodded Hedwig, and with that, she took off, flapping through the sky swiftly and silently.

Keith turned to Bella and Raine. "Hedwig's the fastest Pokémon I got, and one of my strongest, too," he said, a hint of pride in his voice. "If anyone can head off that poacher before she can do anything, it'll be that Crobat of mine. Come on, we should go after her, too," he added to Bella.

I HAVE CLAIMED WEEZING. YOU ARE NOT WORTHY.

Rumor has it however, that there are still many valuable ores hidden within the mountains.
Wind billowed across a vast desert of snow, buffeting Evdee and his bird cohort, Astral the Pidgey in the face with harsh, stinging crystals of snow. Evdee lifted his arm to shield himself from the glancing blows of the storm. The little pidgeon shuddered at the sight before them, and dug deeper into the furry hood of Evdee's jacket where she had nested, shivering endlessly.

"Well Astral, this is the place. I think..." Evdee muttered, referring to the blur of white in front of him. In the distance, grey ominous peaks rose above the clamor of wind. The rock formations fitted their name well. "Welcome to Silverton Range." Astral just shuddered again.

"I can't wait to see what's hidden in all of these caverns. Maybe there will even be a few fossils to check out!" It didn't seem likely, but the prospect of an undiscovered relic tingled in Evdee's spine, and he couldn't help but skip a little in joy. Astral glared back, unnaproving of the harsh weather and itching to leave. Cold weather meant snow and ice, and she did NOT like ice, especially when it was plastered to her wings and dragged her to the ground, incapacitating her wings so that... The very thought of it gave Astral chills.

"Ha, a little cold are we?" Evdee chuckled in response to Astral's shudders. "Don't worry, we'll get inside soon enough." Though he wasn't entirely sure that was true. Unsure where to begin their ascent, Evdee began trekking towards the nearest cluster of peaks, ones that looked easy to climb from here, and hopefully contained the abandoned mines he was seeking out. As is required to say, what could possibly go wrong?

    Girl?...

He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Nothing about her or this whole thing made the slightest bit of sense. Of course he was sleeping, wasn't this all a dream? Or was he sleeping in his dream too? If so, which slumber did he have to wake up from? This was starting to give him a proper headache, but he tried his best to put the pieces of this puzzle together... even if he was aware that he wasn't playing with the full set.

One thing's pretty obvious: the minute I stop dreaming, Raz and everything else stop existing. That's the best way to put an end to any dangers around here. But since when have things been that easy? I didn't naturally fall asleep, it was induced. And whatever did this to me probably won't let me awaken at will. If only I knew how to! I've gotten hurt by now, and pain's usually a good way to snap out of a dream. Since that didn't work, what else is there?

Before he could try to get anything else out of Girl, the room began to shake violently, walls collapsed, the woman pushed him to the floor and he hit his head on the ground. The ext thing he knew, Raz was shaking him with a concerned look on his face, trying to wake him up.

"Wake me up" from a dream within a dream...

He sat up and looked around. They were still in the room where Spike had beaten Gengar, but there were no signs of shadows anymore, and the door was no longer obstructed. They were free to leave... except for Ralts.

Raz smiled, a huge grin that conveyed his immense excitement over his very first capture. Pokeball held firmly in his grasp, the boy thanked levin for everything he'd done, and invited him over to his parents' farm... not a hint of malice that Levin could spot. And he was damn good at it...

That girl told me to stay away from Raz... but she also told me I had to wake up. If I turn down his offer and part ways, what'll be left for me to do? I don't know how to wake up on my own, do I just wander around this dream world forever? I can't take that chance... No matter what she says, if Raz really is the source of all this, then sticking with him is still my best bet to escape. And if she was lying to me, then taking shelter in his home might be the best thing to do anyway.

If there was something he'd learned in his travels, it was that women tended to be right all the bloody time. He didn't know Girl any better than he did Raz, and had just as many reasons to suspect her... but if she wanted to harm him, she wouldn't have sounded so troubled. Innocence was infinitely easier to fake than despair, and his gut told him that her concern had been genuine. The only thing she might have been wrong about... was that he needed to avoid the boy. Without him, he had nowhere to go, no leads... no chance. Even if it meant walking straight into the lion's den, he had to risk it! Whatever forces were at work, he wouldn't escape this place by evading them... he had to confront them if he had any hope of ever awakening again!

He cleared his throat and faked his best smile.

    - No need to worry kid, I'm just fine. As for your offer, that sounds... great. I'm sure your parents are wonderful people, just like you. So long as I'm not intruding, I'd be delighted to see your farm and meet your mom and dad!

I'm sorry Girl, it's all I have to go on...

He got up and looked back, looking for Spike and the remnants of the fallen Gengar. He could swear he'd seen a weird orb take the ghost's place when it faded, shortly before he fell asleep... None of this made sense, not one bit, but he had to play along. Whoever was behind this was one hell of a puppeteer...

"Well, there's the Ancient Tomb," Eric mused aloud to himself, glancing down at the steel-gray mass that lay in his arms. "How does that sound, Sid?"

The Aron looked up at his trainer. The startling blue eyes nestled in the Pokémon's tough cranium seemed to convey fear. "Ar-ar-arooon," Obsidian crooned, shivering ever so slightly in Eric's lap. The Aron's joints groaned as the Pokémon tensed itself into a ball, ready to protect himself against blows from any imaginary enemies that might be nearby.

"Sid, you can't keep doing this to yourself," Eric said soothingly. "You've been inside ever since I brought you home all those months ago. That, or in your Poké Ball. You've got to break your fear of the world. It's a great place, but you need to actually experience it." It was true. Ever since Obsidian hatched, he had never set foot outside. He had come into this world fearing its inhabitants, its processes, its sights, and its sounds. It had even taken Sid quite some time to even associate himself with his teammates and trainer. I'm sure my absence didn't help at all, Eric thought, caressing Sid's side to soothe him. It's my fault I haven't forced him out before now; before the event, I was constantly on adventure. Now, after it happened--well, this is the first time I've been here since, well, I don't know how long. Eric's gaze swept around his secret base. Blue-hued veins of crystallized water spread throughout the walls, reflecting light and giving the room an ethereal feel. I've missed this place; I know I have a lot to answer to for my actions, but right now, my only focus should be my team.

Eric's gaze returned to the screen of his laptop. An aerial picture of what was known as the "Ancient Tomb" stared back at him, calling out his name. Am I ready for this, though? After the incident, am I ready to experience an adventure filled with Pokémon, the very things that-- "No, don't think about it now," he said aloud.

"Aron, Aron, Ar-Ar-Aron," Sid burrowed deeper in Eric's arms, as if to comfort him, yet at the same time convey to him that he did not want to leave.

"You're not getting out of this adventure, Sid. I've made up my mind. It'll benefit you as much as me to interact with other Pokémon and experience the mysteries that the world has to offer. We can't stay caged in fear forever."

The Aron looked at Eric with sadness, dismay, and resignation plainly etched in the depths of his eyes. Let's get a good night's sleep, buddy."

Eric returned Sid to his Poké Ball, closed his laptop, and prepared his pack for tomorrow's events...

Twelve hours later, after arriving in the Arcane Realm, Eric strode toward his goal. He squinted against the sun's glare, fighting to get a good look of the tomb's entrance ahead. Heat lines shimmered in the air, distorting Eric's perception of his destination. "I think we're here, Sid," Eric said to the metal bundle that lay cradled in his arms. The steel type had, at first, refused to even look at his surroundings. As their journey had lengthened, however, Sid had begun to take quick peeks at the sights and sounds that were so alien to him. "See, it's not that bad, is it? Everything's fine, just fine, huh?"

"Aro-Ar-Aron. Aron Aron Aron." Sid's eyes were locked on their destination now, and nerves and fear lined the Pokémon's speech.

"Don't worry, buddy, I'll protect you. You just might have to protect me, too. You are a Pokémon after all, and who knows what we'll encounter in here." Eric gave Sid a squeeze of reassurance.

And, with that, the duo entered the Ancient Tomb.

Missingno. Master: After picking yourself up with Myrtle looking down at you with something akin to worry and amusement you hear Raine stress with urgency the need to recover the now escaping poacher. Bella is quick to volunteer and she cannot hide the relief on her face as you agree to lend your assistance too. Raine thanks you both for your assistance and runs off inside the building behind her to call for further help. Myrtle is quick to volunteer too as she think over how much fun it would be to torture the poacher again but you remind her that her Curse is very powerful and dangerous not only to her foe but to her as well. You ‘ask’ her to sit this out holding out her Pokeball and recalling her as she begrudgingly agrees. You choose a more suitable hunter for this task and release your Crobat who looks about in confusion, wondering what all the commotion was about. You give her instructions to head off after the Poacher and her Gothitelle hoping she could disorientate and incapacitate them before they could do any damage to her. Bella interjects that the Crobat would need to pass through the waterfall to exit her hands and Hedwig nods before darting off with great speed towards her targets. You reassure Bella who nods feeling a pit of fear knotting her stomach at the thought of not catching them.

“Yes, we should go too, come Ivy let’s make haste,” Bella states biting down her concerns and running after your Crobat. It only takes you a moment to follow in her footsteps towards the entrance to their lands. It doesn’t take the both of you long to reach the waterfall and Bella slows down enough to halt the water to allow you both through. You stop for a moment wondering which direction Hedwig had flown too when you hear the Supersonic pierce the air, it wasn’t its usual strength but it wasn’t too faint, they were close by still. You both head off in the direction of the sound and after a few minutes come across Hedwig who was trying to pin them down with her Hypnosis but wasn’t having much luck. Her Supersonic had merely bounced off the trees and missed her targets and now Gothitelle was on the attack with its Psychic moves. You feel panic rise in your chest at the thought of losing your Pokemon but then Gothitelle stops its attack and with a grunt it falls forward to the ground. The poacher looks horrified as she saw the poison-tipped throwing stars in the back of her Pokemon. She whirls around in fear looking for the attacker backing away from the battle and preparing to run when a figure clothed in black deftly leapt out from behind a tree and slits her throat with a familiar looking blade. She falls to the ground dead before her body touches the earth, her life’s blood gushing out painting the ground a dark red. The two assassins reveal themselves to be Itzal and Tzila who keep their weapons out as they walk over the bodies towards you and Bella.

“I said all along he would fail Itzal,” Tzila says with some confidence and Itzal casts you a dark look before nodding.

“Yes, you were right, it’s a pity. I thought we had finally found someone who was good enough for the Tao of the Thorn,” he says almost with a hint of disappointment lacing his voice.

“You ... you didn’t have to kill them,” Bella almost whispers out and the two assassins cast their eyes to her.

“Well as always it looks like you did a good job in protecting the forest Rose,” Tzila spits out with obvious distaste.

“Yes, I have always thought you to be utterly useless and now you have proved it. When I tell the master about this it will mean the end for you all,” Itzal says with a cocky and evil grin on his face.

“It seems that you’ve picked your side boy, poor choice on your part,” he adds looking at you as if you were the size of a Joltik. “Well then, before we finish off here we’ll be taking back your Thorn Dagger and Tentacool. Hand them over now, you wouldn’t want this to get any nastier than its going to be.” Itzal threatens. Bella looks nervous but determination shines in her eyes as with Ivy’s, they weren’t going to back down and would stand by you, whatever you decide to do.

MarbleZone: This whole day was totally bizarre and your experiences during your sleep left you bewildered and confused. You didn’t know who to trust, there was Raz who appeared to be trying to help you from the start and then there was the mysterious newcomer ‘Girl’ who in turn was asking you not to trust the young boy. You allow yourself time to recover from the sleep-inducing effects of the powder and are relieved to see Spike by your side. You didn’t know what or who to believe, the young Raz was looking at you happily with his new Pokemon in the ball in his hand. You had helped him to acquire that Pokemon and he made you an offer you were thinking long and hard about. If you refused you had nowhere to go, perhaps Raz could help you wake up from your dream if you went along with him, Girl was nowhere to be seen. Making your decision you mentally apologise to Girl before forcing a smile on your face hoping that it didn’t look to fake. You accept his offer and Raz can’t hardly hold in his excitement at your decision.

“That’s great, we don’t get many people visiting, I’m sure my parents will be okay with it, especially since you protected us and helped me catch Ralts. I can’t wait to show you around our farm is amazing and our Pokemon are so cool too.” He says nearly bouncing on the spot. He hurriedly opens the door before stepping out into the bright sunshine, the day appeared to have lightened, as if Raz’s happiness affected the very weather itself. With your forced smile in place you follow along with Spike who grunts and shields his eyes against the light. Raze grabs your hand with his free one and moves quickly back along the unmarked path. The buildings almost look normal now, not the ever changing shapes you saw before you entered the apothecary. He bounced up and down skipping along the road and you feel your arm move up and down growing tired of being pulled. He sure was enthusiastic and he hummed a tune to himself as he steered you down a new path that lead into a lush green forest. The air filled with a sweet scent that filled your lungs and made you more relaxed. There didn’t appear to be any Pokemon about, perhaps they were scared by the two humans skipping through the forest and were hiding. Raz’s humming along with the sweet smells from the flowers were driving the worry from you as you felt at ease and a little light headed.

After 40 minutes of skipping with Spike looking at you like you were mad as he trundled along; you reach an impressive looking cottage with a large chimney and pretty red walls. It was picturesque set in the middle of a forest and appeared to have a large out building at the back along with several open pens that looked empty from this distance.

“It’s good to be home,” Raz says with a grin before he continued to pull him towards his house. He lets go of your hand and pushes the door open and you smell even more delicious scents, candles were burning atop the mantelpiece of an open fire that was currently unlit. You were in a living room with comfy looking sofas and chairs, an elegant wooden coffee table.

“I’ll go find mum and dad and let them know what happened, they’ll be happy I’m sure. I want to show them Ralts too then I’ll show you around the farm okay. Wait here, I won’t be long.” He says bouncing off through the door straight ahead of you. You look around and notice that there was another door leading out of the room, would you stay put or would you do a little exploring of your own?

As Hedwig prepared to fly off, Bella added that she would need to pass through the waterfall, and the Crobat nodded in acknowledgement of this. Once she was gone, Keith, Bella, and Ivy raced off after her. Once they were out of the Tao of Rose's lands, Keith looked around, wondering which way Hedwig had gone, when the unmistakable sound of her Supersonic answered that question for him. They raced off in the direction from which the sound had come, but once they caught up, Keith gasped in horror, for Gothitelle was going at it with her powerful Psychic moves. Hedwig was attempting to incapacitate the Gothitelle and the poacher with Hypnosis, but the Psychic-type's attacks were interfering with this strategy. Keith was beginning to panic now- he wouldn't, he couldn't lose Hedwig! He started to reach for Myrtle's Poké Ball almost without conscious thought, when the Gothitelle suddenly stopped attacking and slumped to the ground.

The poacher looked horrified, and Keith couldn't blame her- the Gothitelle was dead, killed by a bunch of... poison-tipped throwing stars? And then, as the poacher was fearfully preparing to flee, a figure clad in black came out of nowhere and slit her throat. This assassin, plus another one, likely the thrower of those stars, made their way over to Keith and Bella, keeping their weapons out- they were Itzal and Tzila, the latter of whom reiterated her lack of faith in Keith from the start. Bella protested that they didn't have to kill the poacher and the Gothitelle. Keith was inclined to agree with this, though for now, was just glad that Hedwig was alive. He did, however, frown as their true opinions of the Tao of Rose came out- they both believed the organization to be completely useless. The Crobat flapped over to Keith, just as Itzal demanded that Keith hand over the Thorn Dagger and Tentacool.

Tentacool... Keith looked at the Water/Poison-type clutched in his arms. He remembered, back at the hideout, how happy Tentacool looked at the prospect of being given a chance with someone... The sad, sad story behind her that he was told, how they could never pair her up with someone capable of handling her venom, how they never fed her because she was old enough to hunt for herself, how she seemed to take that as punishment for accidentally killing their new recruits... the happy look in her eyes when Keith professed a desire to keep her for himself, back in the Tao of Rose's lands... Each of these things only served to strengthen his resolve as he looked back up at his... former coworkers, I guess you could say? I mean, he didn't really officially join up, did he? Well, anyway, whatever the situation, Keith looked back up at the pair of poisonous assassins.

"No," he stated simply. "You can take your damn dagger back, I don't need it, and I doubt I ever will. But... I want Tentacool to stay with me," he said firmly. "That kind of life just isn't right for her." At this moment, he exchanged looks with his Crobat. Neither of them said anything, but neither of them needed to- Hedwig had been Keith's Pokémon for as long as he could remember, and he knew they were both thinking the same thing. He turned back to Itzal and Tzila. "And if you're thinking about making this nasty, I'm fully prepared to do the same," he added. "We all are. Right, Hedwig?" he asked his Crobat.

"Cro. Bat," hissed the Crobat, flapping her way in front of Keith, casting a murderous glare at the two assassins. Keith and Hedwig had no intention of attacking if Tzila and Itzal backed off, of course, but somehow, they both had the feeling it wasn't going to go down like that. Hedwig eyed the weapons the assassins were wielding, and prepared to launch a Whirlwind if any of them wound up being thrown at her, at Keith, or at Bella or Ivy. Oh, and the dagger? Though Keith did say he didn't care if they took that back, he wasn't stupid enough to hand it over just yet- that's all they'd need right now is for him to hand them an additional weapon right after flat-out refusing to return Tentacool to them.

It's like the more I look for something suspicious, the more innocent he looks in response...

He couldn't let Girl's words go. He tried his very best to spot any semblance of a threat, but it wasn't there... He'd always taken pride in the accuracy of his first impressions, so why was he so conflicted this time around? Who said Raz had to be the bad guy?

Then again, someone who likes to skip and hum happy tunes like they're reenacting a 60's flick has to have some evil inside...

Spike seemed to be thinking the same judging by his look, along with something akin to knocking all of them out for the excessive displays of happiness around him. Still, the Primeape persevered and repelled his urges, following the two humans while muttering to himself all the time. Raz's enthusiasm was so intense, it seemed to influence the very weather itself... who said this was Levin's dream again? Still, it made for a pleasant trip as they left Mediville and braved the town's outskirts, entering a lush, green forest filled with soothing sounds and smells. It was relaxing, idyllic even...

Utopian? This all feels unnaturally perfect... An hour ago we were fighting a gigantic, murderous Gengar. Now we're skipping across flowery fields... I guess I should just enjoy for now. Spike's right here in case things go south.

Nothing attacked them on the way - in fact, the whole forest seemed empty... He tried his best to relax and enjoy the first peaceful stretch of his journey, while sorting out his thoughts. The latter proved impossible, as he still didn't know who to trust, and kept telling himself not to dismiss Raz's potential danger no matter how genuine he seemed. Still, how could he ever come to harm such a young boy even if Raz did end up turning on him?

After a good while, they finally spotted a massive cottage built in the middle of the woods. As Raz's face lit up, Levin was assured that this was indeed the boy's home. And what a home... Not counting the imposing main house, another large building had been constructed behind it, along with a number of pens around the mansion. This was supposed to be a farm of Psychic-Type Pokemon, he recalled, but if so... where were they? He exchanged a look with Spike but neither said a word. They'd watch things unfold for now.

They all walked up to the front door, and just as Raz opened it, the most wonderful mixture of scents filled his nostrils, a mind-numbingly pleasant collection of odors that sent him back to the happier days of his childhood. He soon found himself in a richly-decorated living room, equipped with comfortable-looking couches and a lit fireplace. Everything was... unspeakably perfect.
Raz asked him to wait a little while as he searched for his parents, and Levin obliged. He sat down on one of the sofas, but Spike refused to do the same, looking unsettled.

    - I know... Too quiet. If we walked into the lion's den, this is one filthy rich lion... Either way we're guests, the only thing we can do is play along and wait, so why don't you make yourself comfortable?

Spike cast him an angry glare and pointed to an open door on the far wall of the room. Clearly, he was in the mood to go exploring, and Levin knew he wouldn't be able to stop him.

    - We're gonna get in trouble for this... Dammit, alright. Why don't you "suddenly run off" through that door and I'll go "try to get you back"?

He winked at the Primeape, who quickly got the hint. The Fighting-Type bumped his fists together and stormed off, soon followed by Levin, who mentally rehearsed the excuse he'd present for leaving the room when they got back from exploring. He didn't trust Raz and certainly not this picture-perfect household, he had to find something that could tell him more about this mysterious family! They couldn't take long though, or it'd only arouse suspicion, and he didn't want to start off on the wrong foot with the residents...

    Default Rising from the ashes...

(OOC: So... I'm back. I'm giving my RP skills another chance. If you don't mind, I've sorta kinda updated Michael's personality, to fit in with the personality I may have convienently borrowed from my antics in the ASB. I apologise for the... 8 month wait? Yeesh, I am terrible.
Now, I shall return to Returning from the Graveyard like a... oh you get where I'm going with this metaphor...

The prospect of death as the result of a lost Pokemon battle is a foreign concept to you. Then again, it probably is to most other living people as well. Standing somewhere in the middle of a Graveyard, surrounded by purple mist and being face-to-face with a deranged man and two famished hellhounds is just about as nerve-wrecking as it can get, but somehow, you maintain the presence of mind required to formulate a battle plan – one that had better work, or else!

Blue evidently shares your fear and apprehension, slowly stepping into battle while looking back at you several times for some manner of reassurance, but there’s little to be found; it’s literally do or die, and both of you know it. Clenching his fists, the Panpour concentrates and locks eyes with Adra, his own glowing blue and then the Houndoom’s as well. When the glow fades, it’s impossible to tell whether the plan worked or not; only time will tell. After all, not every Houndoom is impervious to fire, as some are instead noticeably more resistant to sleep. Only one of those would help right now; you reckon there’s little chance either of you will be falling asleep for the next several months either way... What you’re sure of is that, if Adra was hungry before, having been granted Gluttony as its Ability seems to have made it even more restless!

The young Houndour is also eager to help; stepping forward as soon as you call for its assistance, the pup arches its head back and belches… a tiny cloud of violet poison, which harmlessly dissipates in the air. It seems Smog is also outside of Houndour’s range for now… but before you can encourage the pup, Melech pounces and takes it down, pinning it to the ground with its claws. You watch in horror as the larger Houndoom’s mouth begins to light up and fuming, followed by a massive Flamethrower fired at point blank!

But before you can witness the outcome, you’re forced to shift attention back to Blue; the little monkey cries in pain as the now dangerously-gluttonous Adra retaliates against the otherwise innocuous Role Play with a much more offensive move of its own, blasting the Panpour with a Dark Pulse that sends it tumbling back all the way against your legs. You help Blue back to his feet and remind him of your instructions, which the monkey happily acknowledges and puts in motion: leaping forward at impressive speed, he swirls around and smacks Adra right on the snout with a water-charged tail slap, sending the hellhound back several feet as well. Seems you’re evenly matched in power for now, but the super-effective hit from Aqua Tail may have put Blue slightly in the lead in this early going. But wait… Houndour!

Your heart skips a beat when you look back at the scene with Melech and the pup; the former remains standing over its foe, Houndour isn’t moving, the soil around them is scorched… and suddenly, a familiar bark is heard! It’s alright!
Melech roars back; it looks on confused, unable to understand how Houndour yet lives. It then barks furiously and unleashes a second stream of flames at its pinned-down opponent, but again as the fire subsides, Houndour remains unharmed! What’s more, it’s wagging its tail vigorously, as if it’s somehow… stronger than before! Could that mean?…

    What do you do now?
From the moment he gave his orders, Michael felt that something would go wrong. Maybe it was a gut feeling, honed by his many lost battles before then. Or maybe it was his mind reminding him that it was his fault he was in this entire mess, and that his plans are all bad and unwarranted. Either way, all he knew was that he had a gut feeling something was about to go wrong. He didn't mean to blank Blue as the Panpour walked tentatively into battle, his mind was too busy cycling through all the many ways this all would end badly to pay any real heed to his starter. As such, his usual reassuring demeanor wasn't there and his unwaivering support for his Pokemon seemed to, well, waiver. Had this been any other time, in any other place, Blue would have done something to force his trainers attention back into place. But this wasn't a regular battle. This was a battle that had to be won, no matter what. He just had to focus, for his sake, for the Houndour's sake and for his trainer's sake. Maybe then, they could escape this nightmare.
The battle began, oddly and worryingly enough without orders from Cade. Blue swallowed his fear and looked Adra straight in the eyes. He had no courage of his own, he might as well try borrowing some from his foe - alongside it's strength. Both hound and monkey's eyes glowed blue, and there seemed to be some sort of trade going on... an unnoticeable trade, of skills and abilities. Blue didn't feel any different, but he noticed that Adra seemed even more recklessly ferocious than he had before. It was then Blue realised that Role Play worked both ways, as Adra almost looked like it was going beserk from her hunger...

Meanwhile, Michael was startled at the Houndour's eager response to his request.
'He... really would listen to me? After all I've put him through, he would still help me?' He didn't deserve the help, really. But it was a warming thought that the pup had potentially forgiven him. Even when the Houndour couldn't produce the Smog he asked for, Michael was more grateful for the effort than the effect. But of course, in this battle there was no time for warmth or any feelings for that matter - a fact that Melech was happy to remind the trainer of as he savagely leapt at the young Houndour, primed and ready to burn it to ashes. Michael let out a horiffied gasp - that Flamethrower looked deadly, even with Houndour's resistance to it!

A cry of pain from Blue caught the teen's attention, bringing Michael's focus back to his own Pokemon again. The monkey had been on the receiving end of a brutal Pulse of Dark energy, causing him to fly back into his trainer's legs. Realising that he'd pretty much been ignoring his starter for the past few minutes, Michael kneeled down to personally help Blue to his feet.

"Are you alright, Blue? I'm sorry I got us into this mess, but I know we can get out of it! I believe in you! "

Michael reiterated his orders, with a little bit more confidence than last time, and the Panpour gave a cheerful salute before charging back into battle. With the grace of, well, a monkey, Blue flipped over, smashing into Adra with his tail and knocking him back. Despite the circumstances, Michael couldn't help but feel proud of Blue. The Aqua Tail was stronger than he thought it would be, considering the Panpour had only recently learned how to perform the technique. Of course, it was more the type advantage that made it stronger, but Michael was conviently ignoring that.
'I helped teach him that, and he executed it so well! Hmm... maybe I am capable of being a decent trainer? I mean, if I could beat two Houndoom with just a Panpour and a... HOUNDOUR!'

He'd done it again. It was a rookie mistake, forgetting one of the two Pokemon with you in a double battle, yet he'd done it again. Quickly, the trainer returned his focus to the Houndour who was still pinned under the greater form of Melech. And he wasn't moving.
Michael's heart froze. His head froze. Time froze. Heck, everything seemed to freeze as the teen took in the scene before him. After all those words, after all those promises, he'd still lead the Houndour to its demise... But with a bark, the world restarted.

    "Wait, what?"

He couldn't really believe it. He was sure the atmosphere was getting to him. There was no way...
Melech couldn't beleve it either, as he let loose another destructive wave of fire straght into the young Houndour's face. The ground surrounded the puppy seemed to burn, despite being mud, while subjected to the pure destructive power of the Houndoom. Yet in the middle of the flames, Houndour lay, seemingly immune to the fire. In fact, if Michael didn't know any better, he looked better, stronger than before! Somehow, the puzzle seemed to piece itself together in Michael's mind. He realised then that maybe, just maybe, this battle could be won... and if that wasn't hope to cling on to, then the teen didn't know what was. He had a plan. It was a very bad plan- a gamble if you may - but then again, considering his skill at battling everything he did was a gamble. With a look of semi-renewed confidence, the teen gave his orders.

"Ok Blue... help Houndour out by blasting Melech with a full power Water Gun. Then... hit Adra with one too. Houndour... assist Blue by using Two of your strongest Embers on Adra. I hope this works..."

    I apologise in advance about the language used in your update ^-^;;

Missingno. Master: You listened to the demands of the two assassins and your grip on Tentacool tightened. You recall how happy she seemed to be able to frolic in the water, free of judgement, free of responsibility and free of the life of death she was doomed to if she rejoined the Tao of the Thorn. She seemed so happy to be with you and you weren’t willing to give her up just yet, not to these two and the life that awaited her. You stare back with defiance in your eyes and Tentacool looks up to you wondering what you would do. She seemed almost resigned to be handed back to the two deadly ninjas when you protest. You justify your actions, defending the jellyfish and protecting her from the life of death and misery they promised her. Itzal’s eyes narrow dangerously at you as Tentacool looks a little paniced in your arms. He looked furious at your defiance and you felt a comforting hand on your shoulder as Bella stood next to you, ready to help you out should this go down a rather nasty route.

“You insolent little prick,” he spits out gripping his own weapon in his hand tightly. “You had the chance at greatness but you are obviously too thick headed to see a silver platter when it’s put right before your ugly little face.” Tzila looked more disappointed than furious and she held her throwing stars in her hands looking ready to attack should she feel the need.

“You’ve made a foolish choice and you will die with the rest of this worthless scum then I will pry those that I asked for from your cold dead hands.” He finishes nodding to Tzila who launches her stars with deadly precision towards you and Bella. Hedwig shrieks in fury at the pair for having the audacity to attack her trainer and she flaps her 4 wings furiously whipping up a vicious Whirlwind blowing away some of the stars but Tzila has more and she launches them in a second attack. Ivy is quick to follow sending as many Razor Leaves as she can towards them deflecting some away but two make it through heading for your head. Your eyes widen in alarm as you sense your death rushing towards you when Tentacool releases a blast of water from her mouth shooting the two stars back with such force they nearly take Tzila out embedding themselves in a tree. The pair look shocked before grins appear on their faces.

“Well then, let’s try this a different way,” Itzal says reaching for a Pokeball with Tzila following suit. Itzal releases the familiar Drapion who looked no less intimidating than before. Tzila sends out an Arbok who hisses and bares her fangs looking hungry and ready to devour anything put before her. If you wanted to protect the Tao of the Rose you’d need to stop these two and more importantly, stay alive in the process.

    Mediville

MarbleZone: Through the entire walk you couldn’t shake the nagging feeling of wrongness that nipped at your skin giving you goosebumps. The scents of the forest combined with Raz’s humming relaxed your body but your mind was a whirl of emotions and thoughts. You kept thinking back to Girl, the similarly aged teenager who warned you away from your current destination. You had pushed her warning to the back of your mind and followed Raz to his parent’s farm, potentially, if Girl was telling the truth, the hornet’s nest. You took in your new surroundings admiring how lush the furniture and decorations were, if it were the Lion’s Den, the Lion was well off that was for sure! Spike snorted and grunted as he stomped around the warm living room nearly knocking into everything close by. Raz was overjoyed to have you here and he asked you to patiently wait whilst he went to fetch his parents. With a beaming smile he skipped off humming that same tune. You take a seat feeling relaxed further as the soft fabric almost moulds to your body but Spike was too pent up to do the same. You try to reason with him, to get him to sit down too but the Primeape wasn’t having it; he stalked the room pacing like a caged animal. He angrily snorted and pointed towards the remaining door in the room, the one Raz hadn’t ventured through, it looked like he wanted to do a little exploring of his own. You feel the futility in trying to stop him and sigh dragging yourself almost painfully out of the comfy sofa to move towards the door. You decide to play ignorant and suggest Spike go charging through the door and you’ll follow. Spike almost rolls his eyes at the idea but is glad you want to follow his lead and opens the door before making his way through. You stand before the long corridor and make the plunge yourself.

You walk through the ordinary looking corridor with pictures on the walls and spot Spike peering into a room. You look inside and spot a double bedroom, the bed was made with cream and light pink silk. This must be Raz’s parent’s room but looking around it looked like they hadn’t slept here for a while, if ever; everything inside the room looked brand new and unused. Spike snorts bored of this room and moves on and you quickly follow, feeling your heart beat faster in your chest and see that he’s stopped before another room; this time the kitchen. Again it looked meticulously clean, the stove and oven like they had never been used. It was almost like a show home, not one lived in by a family with a child. You feel that nagging feeling return with a vengeance and you could swear you could hear Girl whispering in your ear for you to run. Spike moves on once more when you hear noises coming from further down the corridor. Your heart beats a quick march in your chest and your mouth goes dry as you panic, you couldn’t be caught snooping. You move into the kitchen pulling Spike with you the Primeape nearly crying out in surprise. There is a door at the far end of the room and you move with haste towards it pulling on the handle and finding it stuck. You pull harder and feel sweat run down your neck, you didn’t know why you felt so nervous all of a sudden but the need to escape was being drilled into your mind and with a final hard pull the door gives and you move through it.

Spike is not as affected as you are but he charges through non-the-less and into what looked like a large barn. As you follow you stop in your tracks feeling your heart drop into your stomach. Within the barn were large metal cages each containing a different Psychic Pokemon, this didn’t look like a Pokemon Farm more like a dungeon. The Pokemon had a dead look in their eyes and they hardly looked up as you walked by them. You reach a cage with the newly caught Ralts inside, it had a collar around its head that was sparking and making it wince in pain. It looks up at you with fear in its eyes and it shakily holds out its arm towards you before its eyes go cold and lifeless but its arm remained pointed at you. You reach out for it when Spike grunts and growls at something at the far end of the barn. It was a table of sorts shaped to take a person with straps for the arms legs , torso and head. Was this a torture device, was Raz’s family torturing these Pokemon. Spike growls even louder and his fur rises as he looks behind you. You could see that Ralts was still pointing and then you realise it wasn’t pointing at you but at something behind you. You turn to look over your shoulder to see Raz at the entrance to the barn with his arms crossed across his chest. Gone was his carefree happy persona replaced by a harsh look making him appear older than his years. The look in his eyes was frightening and you took a step back as Spike stood before you ready to defend you again.

“Well, like most children I should have expected you not to listen,” he said his voice condescending and cold. He was calling you a child; he was younger than you, wasn’t he?

“Children never learn, that’s why they need a parent to lead them, guide them, and mould them. You must have very bad parents to turn out the way you are.” He says and you feel your heckles rising at the mention of your family.

’Run’ a voice sounds in your head ... a familiar voice of warning as Raz uncrosses his arms and slowly stalks towards you. Spike growls threateningly and Raz smiles a creepy smile as he speaks once more.

“But fear not, I will provide you the guidance you need, just as I have for the rest of my children,” he says as he holds his arms out wide to the Pokemon in their cages staring at them lovingly. You see a form appear around him in a pink aura, almost feminine in appearance and much larger than his frame.

    ’Please run’ ...

“You will join my children, to live by my rule in obedience and love forever and realise that the life you lead before was meaningless. Don’t resist, it will only hurt more” he says the pink aura shining brightly as the cage doors open and you find the Psychic Pokemon moving like zombies free of their entrapments trap you against the back of the barn looking ready to follow their ‘mother’s’ commands. You were right, you should have listened to Girl after all!

    OOC: It's OK.
As expected, Keith's defiant refusal to return Tentacool to the Tao of Thorn did not go over well with Itzal. He claimed that Keith had made a foolish choice, and would die with the Tao of Rose, calling them worthless scum in the process, and then stated that he would take back the dagger and Tentacool from Keith's cold dead hands. With that, they threw their throwing stars at Keith and Bella. Hedwig exclaimed, outraged by this, and hastened to whip up a Whirlwind. This blew away most of the stars, but Tzila threw another bunch of them. This time, it was Ivy who deflected these with her Razor Leaf attack, but she couldn't deflect all of them- two of the stars were flying right for Keith's head.

Keith's eyes widened. This was how he was going to die, wasn't it? They were moving too fast, he wasn't gonna be able to dodge them in time, good though his reflexes were- and then, suddenly, Tentacool fired off a blast of water from her mouth. It deflected the stars with great force and embedded them in a tree, much to the apparent shock of Itzal and Tzila. Keith, however, gave a relieved grin. "Thanks, Tentacool," he murmured to the Water/Poison-type in his arms.

At that moment, however, grins appeared on Itzal and Tzila's faces as well. Itzal stated that they were going to try this a different way, and at that moment, each of them took out a Poké Ball and threw it. From Itzal's ball emerged the Drapion from before, and from Tzila's emerged an Arbok. Hedwig hovered defiantly in front of Keith, fury and hatred in her eyes as she glared at the pair of ninjas- they had just tried to kill her Trainer, and now, she would personally see to it that that would be the last mistake they would ever make. And Keith knew it, too, he knew that Crobat of his all too well. But he also knew that this was a mismatch- no matter how furious and determined Hedwig was, he didn't want her to take on that Arbok and Drapion by herself. OK, true, there was also Ivy, but Keith didn't want to put that Ivysaur at any more risk than she already was, not if there was anything he could do about it. He ran his fingers along the Poké Balls on his belt, before stopping on one with a red and black color scheme, and a red R on the black half. A grin crept up his face as he plucked the ball off his belt and enlarged it to full size. This one, he knew, could very well give them some trouble, particularly if they relied on their sharp weaponry again.

"Strychnine," said Keith as he threw the Rocket Ball. "Go get them!"

In a flash of light, the ball split open, and what appeared to be a large, sentient pile of sludge materialized. "Muk, Muuuuk," she exclaimed as she oozed over to where Hedwig was, and stood right next to where she was hovering. The Crobat barely acknowledged this, however, much more focused on her opponents than her Muk teammate.

"Alright!" Keith exclaimed. "Hedwig, use Acrobatics on Arbok, and follow that up with Zen Headbutt! Strychnine, use Mud Bomb on Drapion, then go for a Body Slam!"

I HAVE CLAIMED WEEZING. YOU ARE NOT WORTHY.

Kage, cold-blooded as always, looks at Camerupt with mild interest. If this is the one she has to put down this time, so be it. She quietly waits for your instructions, while the opponent huffs in disdain at your choice of partner.

    - You send the Nuzleaf to her doom, Human Jake. Did you not see what happened to those Cacturne earlier? I would have expected you to know better.

Perhaps remembering the strategy used by those very Cacturne, you order Kage to use Growth, which she complies. Digging her feet in the sand and waving the leaf in her head to capture as much sunlight as possible, her cells absorb the solar energy and begin to multiply, her entire frame expanding at an impressive rate, until she stand about three times the size of Camerupt and yourself. You suddenly realize why Growth is proving so effective once again – the move becomes twice as useful under strong sunlight, and since you’re fighting in the desert, the sun doesn’t get much stronger than that!

Camerupt looks at the towering Nuzleaf and scoffs. Come to think of it, it’s nothing he hasn’t handled before, and fairly recently too. The size difference doesn’t seem to bother him at all, probably because of that one deadly move that very few other Pokemon can utilize.

As the camel takes his time to fight back, Kage wastes no time going on the offensive – she brings her palms together and focuses ghostly energy between them, shaping them into a massive sphere of the purest blackness. She hurls the human-sized Shadow Ball directly at Camerupt, who responds by summoning huge pillars of hardened sand from the ground in front of him with Earth Power; when the attacks collide, the earthen columns shatter into a cloud of particles, and the resulting shockwave almost makes you lose your footing, as well as sending several of the tiny Numel watching the match tumbling a couple of feet back. You remember how Camerupt dared you to protect them as you fought him, maybe this was what he meant; the fight is only going to get more intense from here on out, so you should definitely take care not to hurt the spectators.

When the dust settles, Camerupt, remain unharmed, his masterful use of an offensive move as a defensive wall effectively cancelling Kage’s Shadow Ball. The opponent moves first this time, and lets out a wailing sound that resembles a colossal Yawn; he’s trying to put Kage to sleep so she’ll be an easy target! Taken by surprise at first, Kage merely smiles shortly afterwards, apparently unaffected. She lunges her (huge) self at the foe, Pounding him with impressive force and making him fall over! Telpo cheers as you finally see signs of an advantage building up. But just as you’re about to issue a new set of commands to capitalize on the lead… Kage somehow falls asleep! It had to be Camerupt’s Yawn… This is bad!

The leader of the caravan gets back up slowly, smiling, before burying its paws in the sand to establish a wide base… and it begins to charge up, heat and flames emanating from the two volcanoes in his back, rumbling ominously as Camerupt takes aim for its ultimate move… Eruption!!

You remember Kage’s special Ability may help her awaken in time to dodge, but that’s entirely up to luck; can you afford that? With Kage temporarily disabled, what will you do?

Ooc: Sorry for taking 5 months to reply There is no reason it should have taken me this long to respond and I promise it won't happen again.

Kage, silent as always, waited patiently for Jake to give orders, watching her opponent with minor interest.

"Are you crazy?!" Telpo exclaimed in disbelieve.
"Of all your choices and you picked a grass type?"

Much like Telpo, the Camerupt also questioned Jake's choice, stating that he had lead the Nuzleaf to her doom.

"I'm aware it may not look like the best choice, but I have confidence in Kage's ability!" Jake stated boldly.

And with that, the battle started, Kage was the first to move, and dug her feet into the hot sand and started waving the leaf on her head, in an attempt to capture as much solar energy as possible.

Soon, Kage's entire body started to grow and soon, the Wily pokemon stood at roughly three times the size of her trainer and the Camerupt.

"Growth seemed more effective then usual" Jake thought to himself
"Wait, that's it, the sunlight here is stronger then normal, like using Sunny Day!"

Though he was confident in Kage's ability before, now that Growth's effects were doubled, Jake's confidence in Kage soared even higher, but maybe a bit to high.

Kages opponent however, didn't seem to care that the Wily pokemon was now towering over him.

It seemed that the camel was taking his sweet time fighting back, and so Kage quickly took advantage of this by bringing her palms together, and firing off a gigantic Shadow Ball.

The camel quickly countered the attack by summoning columns of hardened sand.
The two moves collided, causing a cloud of dust and shockwave that almost made the young trainer fall down.

But Jake wasn't the only one affected, several of the spectating Numel fell back a couple feet.

''Remember master, Camerupt told you to protect the spectators from any harm!''
    Telpo chimed inside Jake's mind.

''That's right, I need to be more careful, perhaps I need to stay away from ranged attacks'' Jake thought to himself

The dust then settled, but to Jake's suprise, the camel pokemon was completely unharmed!

Camerupt then went next, letting out what sounded like a loud yawn.

''You better hurry up master, before Kage falls asleep'' Telpo warned.

Kage was taken aback at first by the Yawn but quickly pulled herself together and smiled, implying that she was unaffected. She then lunged at Camerupt and Pounded him with amazing power, causing him to fall over.

''Way to go, Kage!'' Telpo cheered, before turning to his trainer.

''If you take advantage of this, you can turn the tide of this battle right now!''

''I know Telpo, you don't need to tell me'' Jake replied.

''Alright, Camerupt, can't counter now so, Kage use...''
Suddenly, Kage fell down onto the hot sand, sound asleep!

''This is bad, this is bad!'' Jake started to panic.
''Kage is a sitting duck, how could this get any worse?!''

Jake had chosen Kage because of her variety of moves, and the fact that she was one of his strongest pokemon, he had on him at that moment, but now Jake was really starting to regret his choice.

But worse it got, as the leader Camerupt started to back up, a smile on his face before burying his paws in the hot sand to establish a strong grip.

It then started charging up, flame and heat started radiating from it's volcanoes on it's back, which started rumbling.

The camel started to take aim.

''Wait, that move it's.....ERUPTION!'' Jake started to panic even more.

''Come on Kage, wake up! You need to dodge out of the way!'' Jake yelled.
''Come on Kage, please wake up!''

Jake knew Kage's ability was Early Bird, but would that work?

    Jake could only hope.

    "Relax", said the night man,
    "We are programmed to receive
You can check-out any time you like
    But you can never leave..."

The song popped up in his head, like it always happened in the most frightening or stressful moments of his adventures; trying to block out the fear, he'd seek refuge in tunes of happier days, but in most cases, the lyrics his mind evoked only served to remind him of the problems at hand.

Primeape hastily looked around, nervous and angry at being cornered; he was well aware of the tremendous mess they were in, and that he was powerless against every single Pokemon around him. Levin was also aware of this - no matter how hard they tried to fight back, all it took was one Psychic-Type Pokemon to tap into their minds and that was it; there was nothing they could do against Pokemon who didn't even need to touch you in order to harm you!

His mind went back to Kamui, his trusty Golduck, whose own mental prowess was unlike anything he'd ever seen; he would've been able to fight back and keep them safe, but he had released him in order to allow Kamui to pursue his own endeavours. He also thought back to Mazo, the Lucario whose mystical powers could perhaps even the odds in this battle against supernatural foes, but he'd left him home when he came to Mediville. Lastly, he thought of Wicca, Faust, Corvus and Veiss, whose Types would've protected them against these Psychic Pokemon... if only Levin had trained them and kept them around. All of them were also gone, so what was the point of wishing they were here? He'd let them all go of his own accord, this was his doing. Furthermore, he should've listened to Girl and stayed away from Raz entirely!

But no, I just had to be a smartass and walk right into the dragon's lair. And now look at this mess!

He still didn't fully understand what was going on. Raz had changed from the innocent, soft-spoken, excitable little kid he'd always appeared to be, to a demonic androgynous mind-controlling child... What the hell was going on?! And more importantly, what could they do about it now?!

No matter what we try, these Pokemon can control our actions by tapping into our minds! We're outnumbered and completely vulnerable no matter what we try! And I can't... I can't hurt them. This isn't their fault, they don't know what they're doing and they've gone through too much pain already! If only we could stop th... Wait, maybe we can!

Their only hope was to stop all of the hypnotized foes at once, so that they wouldn't fall prey to a single psychic attack. If that happened, they'd be ripe for picking; Levin had witnessed how helpless others become when they lose control of their own bodies under a Psychic Pokemon's influence, and there was no way he could let that happen to them. On the other hand, none of these Pokemon were to blame; they were puppets controlled by the entity previously called Raz, so their only hope was to break that influence, if only temporarily!

I should've brought more Pokemon along...

He'd only chosen to bring his most difficult partners along for this supposedly-straightforward adventure - by now, those were only Spike and Hebi. But there was no point in bringing out the easily-influenced Dunsparce to fight a horde of mind-controlling opponents, so it was all up to him and his grumpy Primeape! Only one thing occurred to him, the rough outline of a decent plan... in theory, anyway.

    - Spike, pull yourself together and pay attention! We're not gonna harm these Pokemon unless it's absolutely necessary! But we do need to break Raz's control over them, and the only way I can think of is interfering with their stimuli... so let loose of the loudest Screech you can muster! Then, when you find an opening, try and punch a hole through the barn wall with a Rock Smash so we can at least take the fight outside!

Realistically, there was no way they could just "run" like the voice in his head pleaded. How far would they go before a Telekinesis or Psychic froze them in place? Besides, after witnessing the horrors those Pokemon had been put through, how could he just turn his back on them?

I'm starting to lose sense of what's real and what's just a dream... maybe none of this is happening at all! But only an idiot would take that gamble right now... Until proven otherwise, none of this is a dream any more, it's real and it's dangerous and I need to do do something, goddammit! I ... I need to release them from Raz's grasp, get them to think for themselves, maybe then they can fight back! I need to reawaken their instincts... Wait, what if?...

Suddenly, he had one more idea. He'd have to work in tandem with Spike and wait for the perfect moment to follow up his move. He pulled out a White Flute from his Bag and brought it to his lips. If he could play the magical tune just as they recovered from the Screech, before Raz could strengthen his control over them again, maybe they'd be lured by the Flute like all Pokemon are by instinct! If he could interfere with the creature's influence, maybe he had a fighting chance after all!

Of course, this was all assuming Spike's Screech did anything to them in the first place. If that failed, so would everything else... And then what?!

Missingno. Master: As you stood before the two deadly ninja’s you saw that the odds were against you, Hedwig was strong but she would struggle against the two beast before you. Ivy looked ready to come to your aid but you didn’t want to risk her anymore, she had taken such damage from the poacher before. No you would handle this alone. You reach for your Rocket Ball and throw it to the ground to reveal your Muk Strychnine and she oozes her way over to Hedwig. Bella looks a little shocked at your choice to tackle the two Thorn Tao members and Itzal grins at your choice before snorting.

“Hmmph ... it seems like he trusts you as little as we do Rose,” he says making the girl clench her fists in anger and look down at Ivy, her grass Pokemon looking offended by the insult. “He does have some of his senses at least, well we will finish him before we destroy you and your village little flower.” He says as he clicks his fingers and Drapion moves quickly into action. It crosses its claws across its body and performs a Hone Claws its silvery claws looking sharper and increasing its strength and accuracy before it zooms towards Strychnine delivering a swift Night Slash gaining a boosted Critical Hit from its Sniper Ability and forcing her back. You look alarmed at how quick the dark/poison type moved; your Muk hardly had time to even start to fight. Hedwig manages to zip off towards Arbok and slams into her with her Acrobatics but the snake looked hardly affected. Arbok is as quick as her partner as she slithers on her belly up to Hediwg and flashes a bright Glare paralysing her causing her to fall from the air and land on her back, she was wide open to attack! Arbok opens her jaws wide and chomps down on Hedwig’s right wings with her Thunder Fang making the bat cry out in pain.

Strychnine looks uncharacteristically alarmed but attacks her target firing a Mud Bomb at the scorpion but the creature is able to avoid the majority by dodging only taking minimal damage. Strychnine moves for a Body Slam but her target is too quick and it charges past her heading for Hedwig before sinking its own Thunder Fang into her left wings damaging them badly making her shudder and cry out for you.

Itzal laughs an evil laugh as he looks down at your fallen Crobat, she could still fight but her wings were far too damaged to fly. “Well we’ve taken out your strongest Pokemon with only 2 moves, how will you ever defeat us?” he mocks as you look appalled at your fallen flyer. Bella steps up to your side with a determined look in her eyes.

“I know you want to protect us Keith but I will not let these scum hurt anymore of your Pokemon or my people. Ivy is strong enough, we will fight by your side, let us help you stop these foul beings.” She says voice full of conviction as Ivy steps up to the mark her red eyes full of confidence.

How would you defeat such strong Pokemon after they had disabled one of your own? Better come up with a new strategy.

    Mediville

MarbleZone: You were filled with confusion and fear as you witnessed the scene unfold before you. You didn’t know why Raz had turned so suddenly but now here he was talking to you as if he was a different person controlling these psychic types so easily. Spike was forced into a corner and he was a dangerous animal in this kind of situation but he too could see how helpless this scenario was. Your mind turned to your other Pokemon, all capable of defending you against such Pokemon but you were alone with your fighter, a choice you had made at the start of this journey, one of many regrets you had now. Girl’s warning echoed in your head again and you had wished you had listened to her even if her warning at the time was unfounded. You worried about mind control but the look in the Pokemon’s eyes told you that they were the ones being controlled. They looked dead inside, shells of Pokemon with empty eyes but those eyes were focused on you and you could see that they would follow their ‘Mother’ through thick and thin. You tried to calm your pounding heart enough to come up with a plan, anything to get you both out of that barn alive. You try to rally Spike around and issue him with orders, if you could distract the surrounding forces long enough to create an escape route perhaps you could get free.

Spike stops manically looking around and concentrates on the forces and opening his mouth wide he lets loose an ear piercing Screech that even has you covering your ears. The Psychic Pokemon all groan in pain and hold their hands to their ears trying to block out the awful noise, even Raz was affected by the noise and his form shifted and blurred or a moment before returning to normal. Spike finished his yelling and he charges towards the near wall pulling back a fist and slamming it into the wood with a Rock Smash. The wood splinters and bows outwards leaving a small hole for you to escape through. Now it was time to take the fight outside where hopefully you would have a little more advantage. Suddenly a pair of Psychic blast strikes Spike throwing him into the back of the barn where he slides down painfully and hits the ground with the thud. You panic and look back to see Spike laid out cold on the ground, the two super effective attacks overwhelming him completely. You turn to see two Mr. Mime’s stood with their arms out wide, their Soundproof abilities having protected them from the Screech. Raz recovers quickly and holds his arms out, his Pokemon following suit and you fell your arms lock by your side your legs go stiff. You move your head to look at Spike one more time feeling the pull of so many regrets weigh your heart down as your body is moved against your will Raz’s voice fills your head, as if he was telepathically speaking to you but the voice was completely female and unlike his.

’Come my child, join your brothers and sisters. I will care for you forever and you needn’t fear anymore. I will teach you discipline and love and we will be one big happy family.’

You are lifted up into the air and onto the table as the Pokemon approach looking to strap you in as Raz moves to look down at you. You see the aura around him more clearly now, a feminine form with a long billowing skirt and short hair, she smiled at you through Raz’s eyes.

’Struggle no more, it is nearly over’ she mentally whispers in your ear. You close your eyes feeling hope leave your heart and dread enter it. Suddenly a shriek fills the air and you open your eyes to see black bolts of energy slam into the Pokemon sending them scattering away. Raz is struck by a bolt and his body flickers out of existence for a moment before he regains composure but not before a feminine hand grabs yours and pulls you off the table and out through the hole Spike had created.

Your vision focuses and you see that it is Girl who rescued you and now she was dragging you away with all the speed she could muster.

“I told you to run” she says almost in a sigh as your feet catch up with your brain and run alongside the young woman. You suddenly stop though as you remember Spike, you had left him in that barn with those freaks! You turn to head back with Girl gets in your way.

“You cannot help him,” she says almost as if reading your mind. “You cannot help yourself, not in there.” She says cryptically. “This is all a dream. Where we first met was a dream but this is a lower level. We cannot linger, we have to move now. You need to wake up!” she says before grabbing your hand and dragging you away. You hear an almighty scream fill the air and Girl looks almost as scared as you.

“She will find you, we cannot let her catch you, we need to hurry, please move.” She says with urgency before pulling you into the forest along another winding path. You hear another scream, this one closer and you wonder how Raz could be gaining on you so quickly. Just as you exit the forest towards Mediville you feel Girl’s hand slip through yours. You come to a stop and Girl looks down at your hands.

“I can’t keep this up much longer.” She says mysteriously, her form flickers too and you step back as a familiar purple orb shines at her centre before she reverts back to normal.

“I will slow her down, you need to run to the tallest building in town, I will meet you at the top. Now please, hurry!” she says before running back the way you came. You stare at her in confusion before looking back to Mediville, it was only a small town most of the buildings were two story maximum, why did she want you to ascend the tallest building? As if the town heard you see the buildings shift and grow in size, some warping to bizarre forms but one stands out above the rest, it was a sky scraper that nearly touched the clouds, were you really to climb to the top of that building? If you choose to follow her advice this time I hope you don’t have a fear of heights!

How would you defeat such strong Pokemon after they had disabled one of your own? Better come up with a new strategy.
Itzal sneered as Keith sent out his Muk, and taunted Bella, claiming that Keith seemed to trust her just as little as they did. "That's not what this is about," Keith snapped. "And you jerks probably know it, too, don't you?" After that, the battle began, but things quickly got off to a rocky start- Drapion could really move! After a Hone Claws, it was able to strike Strychnine with a powerful Night Slash, all before she could even attack! And Hedwig... Hedwig was faring even worse against Arbok, as she was put out of commission by a combination of Glare and Thunder Fang, after which Drapion swiftly joined in and hit Hedwig with her own Thunder Fang (barely evading Strychnine's moves in the process). She still had the strength to fight, but her wings were badly damage. "Hedwig!" Keith exclaimed in horror.

It was at that moment that Itzal laughed evilly. He mockingly reminded Keith that they had taken out his strongest Pokémon with just two moves. "Hedwig, return," Keith sighed, calling the Crobat back to her Poké Ball. And then, at that moment, Bella stepped up to Keith's side, a look of determination in her eyes. Though she knew that Keith was trying to protect them, she insisted on fighting, insisted that Ivy was strong enough. Keith looked down at Ivy, and saw her stepping up to do battle, a confident look in her eyes. Keith could not help but smile at this. Just from that look, he could tell that Ivy was going to do well in this battle. "Let's do this, then," grinned Keith. He turned back to the battle, thinking furiously... That Drapion is way too fast, he thought. There's gotta be a way to slow it down... And then, his eyes lit up as he thought of something. "Strychnine, return!" he exclaimed, holding out the Rocket Ball. Almost before the Muk was back inside, Keith had already thrown another ball. "Go, James!" he called, as what appeared to be a humongous flower with short arms and legs emerged from the new ball.

"Vilepluuuume," said James as he stood beside Ivy, glancing up at his formidable opponents. Far from looking scared, however, the Vileplume looked ready for action. It was true that they had taken out Hedwig with two moves, but Itzal was wrong- Hedwig wasn't Keith's strongest Pokémon. Just one of his strongest. He had had James the longest of any of the Pokémon he had gotten since first coming to Fizzytopia, and he knew what the Vileplume was capable of.

"All right, James! Sunny Day!" Keith ordered. "Then use Stun Spore on Drapion! Let's do this!" He mentally reviewed his plan- thanks to James's Chlorophyll, the intense sunlight would do wonders for his Speed, and the Stun Spore would slow Drapion down majorly. And then after that, Keith planned to go on the offensive- James had a couple of attacks that could take advantage of extreme sunlight, and he would see to it that the opponents wound up on the business end of said attacks when all was said and done.
