So after two crushing defeats at Random WiFi, I have concluded that my failure was a lack of synergy within my team.
I have assembled the team as follows, but the only problem is the ordering which I should use for maximum efficiency.
("?" means accepting suggestions for missing field)
Ludicolo @ ?
Swift Swim
Timid (took me over 40 eggs to get this nature and 31 SpA IVs)
252 SA/4 SD/253 Spe
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Giga Drain
- Rain Dance
Hydreigon @
Expert Belt
Levitate
Hardy
4 HP/252 SA/252 Spe
- Fire Blast
- Superpower
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
Hydreigon's best set IMO is a mixed set. Dragon + Fighting + Fire hits everything.
(Field Notes: Fell to a Hariyama that managed to absorb its Draco Meteor)
Galvantula @ Choice Specs
Compoundeyes
Modest
252 SA/4 SD/252 Spe
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Energy Ball (Would have been replaced by Hidden Power, if its Hidden Power wasn't Bug)
- Volt Switch
Darmanitan @ Life Orb
Sheer Force
Quirky
252 A/4 SD/252 Spe
- Fire Punch
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- Rock Slide
This is my favorite in-game Darmanitan set, and it works really well.
(Field Notes: Destroyed an Abomasnow with Flare Blitz, only to be revenge killed by a Choiced Mamoswine.)
Golurk @
Life Orb
Iron Fist
Bashful
172 HP/254 A/84 Spe
- Shadow Punch
- Ice Punch
-
Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
He already gets good coverage with Ice + Ghost + Ground, so I don't see a need for Drain Punch. It doesn't hit anything notable. Stealth Rock really helps break down Pokemon and turns some 2HKOes to OHKOes.
Scrafty @ Rocky Helmet
Moxie
Brave
252 A/4 SD/252 Spe
- Crunch
- Zen Headbutt
- Hi Jump Kick
- Dragon Dance
Looks good. You could use Ice Punch > Zen Headbutt, but you already have Golurk and Ludicolo to hit Gligar.
In reserve
These Pokemon are also strong contenders, but they are not in the current team.
Eelektross @ Leftovers
Levitate
Bashful
172 HP/252 SA/84 Spe
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot
-
Volt Switch
Volt Switch allows your team to gain momentum.
(Field Notes: Walled a Choiced Mamoswine that was locked into Earthquake. Lost nevertheless due to Hail damage.)
Volcarona @ Charti Berry (Reduces Rock damage)
Flame Body
Naive
5 HP/252 SA/252 Spe
- Fiery Dance
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Substitute
Looks good, although Sub is best with a Bulky EV spread.
My current primary concerns are both weather and physical/special coverage (I hate Blisseys).
Suggestions are highly recommended.
