    Default State Pokemon

Would anyone wanna help assemble an unofficial list of state pokemon?
I think it would be interesting and I don't know enough about all the states to assign them on my own.

I say New Mexico's would be Solrock
('cause it's hecka sunny and the zia sun symbol)

If states had official pokemon, what do you think your state's would be and why?

    Edit-
So far I think we've got
    Arizona: Cacturne or Maractus
    California: Ursaring
    Colorado: Snover
    Florida: Sunny Castform
    Hawaii: Ludicolo
    Kansas: Sunflora
    Kentucky: Herdier
    Louisiana: Pelipper
    Maine: Crawdunt or Corphish
    Maryland: Krabby
    Nevada: Skorupi
    New Mexico: Solrock
    Rhode Island: Clamperl
    Texas: Tauros
    Washington: Rainy Castform

I personally feel New Mexico should be Cryogonal. You know with Breaking Bad and Cryogonal being a blue crystal?

I'm going to move this into polls because you're asking a question and collecting responses.

Blah, why not a country thread instead of a state <_<

Anyway, since stereotypes, Hawaii gets Ludicolo.

Or a Bellossom... Ludicolo looks more Mexican to me (because of the sombrero)

Rhode Island should have Kyogre (or at least Manaphy).

Virginia's would probably be something like... Arceus? I dunno. I'm saying Arceus since it's sort of known as the leader of Pokemon (or God I guess, but pretty much a leader either way) and Virginia is considered the "Mother of all Presidents"

I'm not from the US, I'm from the UK. That won't stop me proposing a mascot for the UK. I'm going to say Kyogre is the UK's mascot. It's always raining here! My hometown would have it's own mascot in the form of Garbador though as this place is a dump!

Kentucky should be Herdier because of all the farms (I miss it there :/)

This is just you trying to keep Rhode Island down.

That's what it is, isn't it?

The thing is it could vary on so many levels for each state, because they have many mascots. I know that in Louisiana we have a state bird, mammal, crustacean, dog, reptile, sal****er fish, freshwater fish, insect, and amphibian. You could also factor in school mascots, which in Louisiana mainly equates to the LSU Tigers. So here are the possible ones i can come up with for my state, Louisiana:

    State bird: Pelican (Pelipper)
State mammal Louisiana Black Bear (Ursaring?)
    State crustacean: Crawfish (Crawdaunt)
    State dog: Catahoula (Umbreon?)
    State reptile: Alligator (Feraligatr)
    State Fish: Trout/Perch (Finneon?)
    State insect: Honeybee (Combee)
State amphibian: Green Tree Frog (Politoed)

Fearow for a pelican? Maybe Pelipper would be better.

Tough one, I don't know what would fit Michigan the most. Would help immensely if we had a wolverine or mitten Pokemon or something, but we don't.

I guess Typhlosion is the closest we have to a wolverine, so I would say that, but I don't know.

Hey, nice to see another Alabamaian on here!
Hmmm... how about Donphan? Because Roll Tide. Plus it's rugged and tough, like we enjoy thinking of ourselves as.
Alaska? Beartic. Seems fairly obvious, don't think anyone would disagree.
Rhode Island could either be a Combusken or Clamperl, either one would pretty much work.

    Sableye:
    Kentucky

Sableye is modeled after the "Hopkinsville Monster". The Hopkinsville Monster is "from" Kentucky (the myth/legend/whatever, anyway).

Sableye is a much better (and more "Kentucky") than Herdier.

I will be on here very, very rarely. The account is not dead, per se, but I will not be on often. This has become a den of hatred, hostility, and anger. It is not the SPPF it was when I joined, and I really dislike coming here. To those of you who were nice to me and were my friend, thank you. Goodbye.

Before you try to act superior to someone else on here, remember that no matter how much of an "internet cool-guy" you think you are, this is a Pokemon forum.
