Ariados is also one of my favourite Bug-Types, but I have no idea how to properly use one xD
I usually go with Poison Jab, Shadow Sneak and two fillers.

Yeah, seeing as Ariados is like, my favourite Bug-type, I'm not changing it. XP
Yeah, surprised me too when they spammed it in the PMM Series.

Anyway, I've never used Ariados outside of the Ranger Series.

Going off form last page's topic, I used a Mothim in Diamond, a Beautifly and Dustox in Platinum, a Masquerain in all of my Hoenn Games (I get them in Nuzlockes too, even), a Leavanny in my White, a Galvantula in Black and White 2, a Vespiquen in Pearl, Butterfree, Beedrill, and Venomoth in Leaf Green, and a Forretress in Soul Silver.

    i like that
i'm glad you took the time to do that
i could see a bug/dark going along those lines
knowing Ken Sugimori he would make the suit more subtle if he did something like this

Favorite thing about Bug-types? There isn't really a set reason, I've just always had love for them! Planning on running through Platinum with Bug types only!

I'm glad I finally found a group of great individuals who love bug types as much as I do!

But it was exciting to see them, thanks!

Then it's much better to use Venomoth.

But if you insist on using Ariados, then there are the moves it can use:

    -Sucker Punch
    -Poison Jab
    -Night Shade
    -Shadow Sneak(much needed priority)
    -Giga Impact
    -Bounce
Only after reading this post, I realised how Ariados doesn't even get X-Scissor and Bug Bite is like.. 60 B.P ._.. Anyways, I think you should remove Giga Impact. Giga Impact just flat out is bad if you can't KO the said Pokemon, and that won't be hard considering it's 90 attack and how it can't get past Steel Types at all. It's funny how they set it's speed at 40 when it's a frigging spider ._.

I'm thinking of making a bug fairy Pokemon. 'Bug/Psychic' or just Bug (Bug/Flying is too horrible! *screams*) that will be a 600 legendary. It's going to be based on a nature fairy and female-only. So stay tuned as I put more thoughts into it.

I'm also thinking of a spider fakemon that's actually usable (no offense).

//galvantula is relatively usable on a team without Rain, or if you just HAVE to get that /yache Berry off that Dragonite with it's abilities, but other than that... yeah.

Just gonna repost this cuz nobody replied.

Here is the finished version! Please Comment... I want to know how good it is.

    I can.
    Catch ADAMANT Nincada.
    Evolve it at level 25.
Have a free moveslot in your party.
It will evolve into Ninjask and Shedinja.
Why 25? Because you should learn Swords Dance JUST IN THE MOMENT Nincada will evolve in Ninjask(learn it as a Ninjask)
    So, your team:

    1)Ninjask (Adamant)
    -Swords Dance
    -Dig
    -Aerial Ace(teach as a TM)
-Double team / Slash / Cut

    2)Shedinja (Adamant)
    -Swords Dance
    -Shadow Ball
-Fury Cutter(Teact it in Verdanturf Town Pokemon Center)
    -Return

3)Armaldo(revive from Claw Fossil and evolve Anorith)
    Adamant or Jolly Nature.
    -Brick Break
    -Ancient Power/Earthquake
    -Rock Blast
    -Earthquake

    4)Dustox
    Impish or Careful nature
    -Protect
    -Toxic
    -Moonlight
-Swagger(teach it in in the Slateport City Pokemon Fan Club House.)
Dustox can be a stalling machine.

    5)Volbeat (MILD nature)
    -Signal Beam
    -Tail Glow
    -Thunderbolt
    -Water Pulse

Oh wow, I forgot about Galvantula XD. Totally. Anyways, Galvantula is usable, completely. It has 91% accuracy Thunder... It's definitely a beast.

I've thought of the spider Pokemon a bit. It's going to be a split evolution for Surskit. Here's how it's going to roughly look like

    Hysder [Water/Big]
Hysder, the Water Bug Pokemon. It has pad-like legs that allow it to skim on water at high speed, allowing to chase after its preys speedily.

    Evolution Chain:
Surskit -> Hysder [via Water Stone]

Appearance: It has grown in size and its body are elongated. The cap on Surskit's head have become more like a horn, but it cannot learn any horn type moves. It has yellow stripes on its back and the feet are blue lily pads but blue. Also, the pads are detachable.

    Ability
    1st Ability: Swarm
    2nd Ability: Swift Swim
    Hidden Ability: Speed Boost

    Level-up Moveset:

    -- Water Gun
    -- Defense Curl
    Lv. 5 Cut
    Lv. 8 Fury Cutter
    Lv. 17 Agility
    Lv. 21 Slash
    Lv. 28 Water Pulse
    Lv. 33 Night Slash
    Lv. 38 Leaf Blade
    Lv. 48 X-Scissor
    Lv. 58 Fury Swipes

    Stats
    HP: 70
    Attack: 110
    Defense: 80
    Special Attack: 70
    Special Defense: 80
    Speed: 110

also fury swipes being the last move would be kind of a disappointment

Good moveset. And idea is cool
But base stats should be in total like Masquerain's.
    So, like
    Stats
    HP: 70
    Attack: 104
    Defense: 50
    Special Attack: 60
    Special Defense: 50
    Speed: 92

Last move can be Hydro Pump/Aqua Tail.
    But this thing should have
    -Waterfall
    -X-Scissor
    -Leaf Blade
    -Night Slash
    in the end

This sounds great, but has one obvious flaw. A split evolution must always have the same base stat total as its counterpart. Besides that, I would love this idea. I think Water/Bug is a cool typing that should exist outside of LC.

EDIT: Sorry Ray, didn't see your post!
Clauncher, Vivillon, Chespin... Here it comes!

Thank you Raymon, the bug type for Emerald is turning out great! Haha, I was actually wondering if anyone knew a good Platinum team, because as soon as i beat the Elite 4 in Emerald, I'm jumping straight into Platinum!

I want to get Platinum but I don't know where to get it *Local store doesn't have a copy*
But if your talking about a Bug team I'd add Vespiqueen, Draporion, and Heracross!

Iv been ovserving for to long lol, allow me to suggest somthing :P

    @Choice band@
    *Adamant*
    ~ Bullet punch
    ~airial ace
    ~bug bite
    ~Uturn/super power

This for obvious reasons i guess, An adamant Choice baned bullet punch does soo much damage..

    @ Wide Lens@
    *Timid*
    ~quiver dance
    ~batton pass
    ~sleep powder
    ~Air slash

This set on venomoth can either power itself up something serios and can pass on that power to somthing else to own.

    @Choice scarf@
    *adamant*
    ~megahorn
    ~Aerial ace
    ~Earthquake

Now even though in 4th gen heracross cant yet get Moxie, heracross is still a beast when your attack is maxed out, its even got decent SPD base.
I would sugggest breeding a max att IV for heracross and even without Moxie boost's, you still own.

This armaldo will pretty much just support your team sorta, max attack armaldo is an underestimated beast, its got decent DEF though its SPD from my knowledge isnt all that.. Still , with Focus sash you can survive the first enicial hit and KO a poke, maybe even tank out a few moves and kill something by itselfs ya no.

With this set on a yanmega you could easily switch into any blow from batton passing into it from venomoth or even if you needa switch out.
THis set on yanmega could make a good teammate with Venomoth, or Gain a few Speedf boosts and own by itself.

Tinted lens on this mothim isa must, with silver wind boosted to 90 base damage and silver winds possible effect, its just obvious to me that you should do this :P
And U-turn because its att stat is pretty decet even with a drop from the modest nature.

ok, let's see what options you have...

You have Wormadam, who if it is Trash Cloak has no weakness other than the scarce Fire Type, Mothim, who is an Ok bug, Drapion, which only has weakness to Ground, but can counter that with Ice Fang, Vespiquen, who is bulky, but a little bit of a let down (IMO), Scizor, who is, well, scizor, Yanmega, who is good with it's Speed Boost and ok Movepool, and Heracross. Who will be far stronger than most in this game.

Anyway, those are the ingame options you have. You could get other stuff, but..

Oh, almost forgot about Wurmple. Anyway, the Dustox and Beautifly are both decent, and can actually pretty easily take out most of the Gyms alone because of typing alone (strong against Grass, neutral vs Ghost, restistant against Fighting, neutral with Water, with only the last three and first gym having trouble).
