So my last Nuzlocke... well spoiler alert! I died. It sucked. So I decided to start again in blue with some crazy as heck eight-bit nostalgia!
- Can only catch first Pokemon per route
- Dupe Clause MANDATORY: I have three attempts to get a non-dupe before the Route is dead. Even if dead, I cannot catch a replacement!
- Limited Shopping! I can buy balls, TMs, Vending Drinks for TMs and plot, and gamecorner coins and Evolution Stones.
- Faint is death
- Nicknames are NOT allowed.
- MissingNo is a plot point. Falling to the illusions of Level 120+ beasts on the beach is not real at all and thus do not count as deaths.
Intro: A Dark and Stormy Night
The howling winds of the blackened sky almost felt like a dark omen of dreadful times. Hurricane Lamarck was thrashing the coast, and the citizens of Kanto knew best to stay indoors. On this day of all days, Albert Whisker should have heeded that advice.
The turbulent forces kicked up, leaving Albert nearly incapable making forward progress. The city was so close! He was almost there... miles did not even need to be used to measure his distance. He was almost at the safe house. There was little doubt he could find shelter there.
A Dark and Stormy Night
Howling winds and a blackened sky were dark omen of dreadful times. Hurricane Lamarck was thrashing the coast, and the citizens of Kanto knew best to stay indoors. Albert Whisker should have heeded that advice.
Turbulent forces kicked up, leaving Albert nearly incapable making forward progress. The city was so close! He was almost there... miles did not even need to be used to measure his distance. He was almost at the safe house. There was little doubt he could find shelter there.
Harsh wind pelted him relentlessly and chucked him several yards backwards into a puddle of mud. The scene before him was terrifying; it looked like picturesque darkness only marred by the bright colors of distant city lights. Said city lights began to join the eternal pitch as there wasn't any doubt that power was failing all over the country. Tears streamed down Albert's face as he trembled... hope was fading fast.
He tried to stand; a tree fell nearby him. Said tree made little sound as far as he could tell, only its tremor and hulking appearance that was not there before let Albert know that it had fallen. His scream of fear and anguish was also drowned out by the roar of the winds just like the tree's had been. Nature could be scary, but there seemed to be almost something more at work... if Albert could put his finger on what it was, he would have shoved it into its proverbial throat and choked it to death.
Slowly, he pushed himself to his feet. Just when he regained his footing, a blur of darkness appeared. Amongst the dark of the evening, the creature looked like a shadow. All he could see was a black silhouette of a lanky humanoid form holding what appeared to be an equally shadowed spoon.
It spoke, its voice hollowed and piercing every cranny of his mind, "You are the only one who can save them. You are the only one who can save… me!" The last thing Albert saw was a pair of bright blue eyes.
The shadow of a spoon wielding beast narrowed its glowing eyes. It spoke telepathically as its words reverberated through Albert's mind, "we shall be in… contact. Do well!" With that, a flash of light blinded the sky. Albert and the mysterious utensil holder were both gone with nary a trace.
