It definitely is in my opinion. I mean just LOOK! they made real characters instead of stick figure pixel looking ones!

"Real characters"? They aren't real, they are just huge-headed 3D models, like we had huge-headed sprites in Generations I~V. Honestly, I am and I always will be a sucker for sprites, I just love them, but I don't mind the change. 3D models are easier to work with, it will definitely make the work easier for Game Freak. I can't even begin to imagine how long would take to create almost 800 sprites + 800 backsprites for each Pokémon. Anyway, answering your question: No! I prefer Generation IV and V graphics, but the new 3D environments aren't bad. I am just glad the new games don't look like Colosseum and XD, because these two games had awful 3D models.
It is you, it is you, it is all for you.
We haven't seen much yet, but every new generation will always have better graphics than the previous one, so by logic, the graphic of 6th Gen will be better then the older games.
I could've ended up not liking the switch, but they chose an art style the fits Pokemon perfectly so I'm okay with it.
