He'll probably head home to Kanto for a bit, while asking Juniper to transfer his reserves to Oak's lab and leaving other 5 he has on hand. Then he'll head to the new region where he meets the new girl whom he steals her life force so he remains 10 years old.

After defeating TP,the gang find that they have explored all of the Unova region and today was their last day together.After the feast that Cilan prepares is eaten,the gang reminise about all the things that they had done.In the morning,Iris says that she couldn't sleep which Ash & Cilan agree to.Ash says he is going back to Pallet Town to see his old pokemon before he goes on another journey.Iris says she is going to Opelucid City to be the joint Gym Leader of Opelucid City.And Cilan says he is going back to Striaton City to re-obtain his role as Gym Leader.Before they split up Ash and Iris want to have a battle using Scraggy & Axew because it was a good way for them to say goodbye to each other.During the battle both sides are exhausted both pokemon evolve!.After the battle Scrafty & Fraxure both want to continue the battle even though it was a draw.When they split up Ash and Pikachu find a Girl on the plane.She says she is going to Pallet Town for experience since she is getting her first Pokémon next week.Ash shows her around Pallet Town,he even shows her his old pokemon at Oak's Lab(which she immeditly fangirls over).Delia welcomes Ash home and asks the Girl for her name(which Ash doesn't even Know)....

If the "Big News" is Generation VI then its the new region obviously. But if it is a R/S/E remake (which I doubt it will be) then Hoenn.

Most likely new region, I don't see him going back to Hoenn considering he already tried for the league, exploring the region, capturing the pokemon there and doing the Battle Frontier in Kanto, unless he wants try again for the league but I doubt it.

Mainly The meeting the girl on the plane, and her about to get a starter, because they're already doing a starter thing with junipers lab, and ash would defs introduce himself and vice versa, because he introduces himself to everyone hava

I do hope that Ash returns to Kanto after wards, and get a nice scene with all his Pokemon together. Since we didn't get one for DP; so we get that "fresh start" for BW, there's no need to close things off completely at the end. Plus, I can't see Gen 6 making another one of those themes at the beginning.
