I'll be honest, I only play with the six coolest guys available to me in-game.
If the starters aren't up to snuff, it's hello Bill's PC.
Or whomever the heck it is this time. Amanita? Heck no. I don't even remember the Sinnoh person, if there was one. Lanette was the last decent PC-redesigner. We need to revisit that model.

On the topic of starter's movepools, yeah, I'm hoping Chespin gets a decent one.

Chespin's a Grass-type, so we know what to expect. Oh well, there's still Fennekin and Froakie to look forward to.

You never know it could evolve into anything. I'd rather it have a ****load of spikes then evolve into a squirrel or something. We have Pachirisu for that, I know.

I disagree with people who say Fennekin will be pure in its secondary stage. A pure fire fox with psychic attacks, we've never seen that before, right?

Vulpix is a pure fire fox, but, it does learn psychic attacks.

just overall, there have been quie a few pokemon with base 530 stats and bellow in the OU tier, however a main thing that has put them there is their ability (with the exception of infernape whose movepool is massive). I'm thinking the starters are going to be RU, UU. though I reaally would like it if they were good enough for OU. I hope we don't have a gen of all NU starters again.

conkeldurr-BST 505, which is really low. but it thrives due to its huge attack and workable def/hp, and priority mach punch and drain punch and payback let it overcome/take advantage of low speed.

ferrothorn-BST 489. surprised? i definitely was. this thing is one of the premier mixed walls in all of OU. what's more surprising is that its hp stat isn't all that (74). what makes it so good is its typing, which gives it so many good resistances it's not even funny.

gengar-BST 500. one of the only pokemon (if not the only pokemon) that has been OU every generation. yep, every generation. defenses are TERRIBLE. paper thin! haha. but gengar's proved that all sweepers really need are good speed and attacking stats with a good movepool as well as some key resistances.

jolteon-BST 525. same story as gengar, except it has a pretty shallow movepool.

lucario-BST 525. its selling point is its movepool. STAB close combat, extremespeed, swords dance. steel fighting typing doesn't hurt either.

there are a ton of other pokemon i can list: starmie, skarmory, scizor, mamoswime, tentacruel, just to name a few. the pokemon i've listed make up 20% of the entire OU tier, so i'd like to think there's definitely space for the gen 6 starters as long as they get good stats in the right areas, good movepools, and decent typing.

serperior's one of my favorite evolved forms, but i had to capture a gurdurr and make it learn rock slide i think to beat burgh, otherwise it would've been a nightmare trying to beat him with a servine that didn't have a decent movepool. -_-

I find it hard to choose starters in any region ! But, I do like gen 4 a lot. Their typing was very unique. Also, I'm happy that people are not bashing the gen 6 starters. It was becoming a trend of sorts. Thumps UP to GF !
