was thinking..what if there was a disabled Gym Leader..in Pokemon X and Y? I don't mean mentally disabled..i mean physicaly dissabled (Like my brother who can walk but not very far so he needs a wheelchair). He could be very smart and could be a Steel Type Gym Leader..thoughts?

That would certainly be different. But what if he used flying type pokemon? Maybe he flies around with them to make up for not being able to walk.

Pryce and Blaine had canes.I think that is as far as they are gonna go with that. Maybe one day there be someone in a wheelchair...maybe. Probably not.

I'd be cool with this, they do quite well to make each gym leader different so I definitely wouldn't rule it out

That'd just be too cool for a Gym Leader. Must be Elite 4 at least (despite psychic appearing in 3/5 elite 4's).

That's precisely why I don't want to see any of these types in the Elite this generation.

Hoenn and Sinnoh had no theme for the cities, it's too early to know if this region will have one.

Sounds a lot like Stephen Hawking, one of many notable European scientists so this could be relevant to the sixth generation's other continental influences. Steel or Psychic would be fitting - maybe both considering the amount of strong dual types. In previous gens it would have been harder to implement a character sprite of someone in a wheelchair, but X and Y's 3D capabilities could overcome that easily.

First, should this topic go to the Character Speculation Page? Second, we do have Gym Leader Pryce with his cane but his gym doesn't revolve around his disability. Also, if he was in a wheelchair, I hope he/she will be a Flying gym like that Flying disabled character in Avatar: The Last Airbender (cartoon).

I'm guessing something completely unrelated to previous names. Will probably sound French if the region is definitely based on Paris. This most likely means no one will be able to pronounce it. Then again, I could be completely wrong and Game Freak could go with a Germanic name.

Not necessarily. Isshu definitely doesn't sound American-like, and Unova is also much more Latin-like.

We don't have any clue on the name yet, since it will certainly relate to this generation's main theme, which we don't know.

Something French-sounding would be cool, though I don't like French much (no offence to any French guy here!). And true, Unova does sound Latin-y.

I hope the next CoroCoro tells us the name, shows us a few New Pkmn, and reveals the Types for the legendary~

There's a clear contrast for sure, so we can expect a more western name for the English name of the sixth gen region. You're right about the Japanese region name though, and I doubt that will change anytime soon.

I feel as if the most we can ask from CoroCoro is the name and the regional bird/rodent. I don't exactly remember when Zekrom's and Reshiram's types were revealed but I think the earliest we may be able to except them is March. I could be totally wrong though but I at least want a bit more info on the region itself.

Well, it is kind of far-off, since English is a Germanic language, not a Romance language (descended from Latin) — and I don't think Unova really sounds more English-like than Sinnoh or Hoenn (you have a point in Kanto and Johto, though).

I'd possibly expect the name to be based off Gaul, perhaps, if Latin is becoming the go-to. Does anyone think they'll return to having the japanese and american names the same?

Creepy.. But imagine an underground area based on the Paris Catacombs, that would be a lot freakier.

I think we've got a winner here, les catacombs would obviously be the place where we;ll encounter the annoying zubats/woobats + the ghost pokemons,
it would work,cross finger that gamefreak had this idea.
