Anyone else thinking this region might have some loose relations on where either N or the protags of BW went to when searching for N or might it be another region that we are currently unaware of? I think this region was probably a good start for either of them since it's most likely closer to Unova than Unova was to the other regions on the main continent.

I hope the region is all France.
- We have a Paris like city with the eiffel tower confirmed
- The fire type gym/e4 looks like the notre dame
- Cannes could be where a film studio is.
- Bordeaux, lilles, Nice, Marseilles, Lyon, Strasbourg, Nantes, Toulouse,...
- Monte carlo casino, race tracks?
- We have a versailles like building
- We could have mountains at the bourder of the spain region.
My 3DS games:
- Mario Kart 7 (2011)
- Resident Evil: Revelations (2011)
- Super Mario 3D Land (2011)
- Bravely Default (2012)
- Fifa 13 (2012)
- Fire Emblem: Awakening (2012)
- Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl (2013)
- Pokémon Y (2013)
- Steel Diver: Sub Wars (2014)
However, judging the fact Fennekin was based on the Fennec Fox that lives in North Africa, I'm guessing the region will set between Europe and Africa.

Maybe an N statue somewhere? xD
I want to see the theme of the gates that check 8 gym badges before go to Victory Road in this version.
I like the gates in Black & White Version. It looks epic. (for me)
And Elite 4 rooms in the Pokemon League also amazing!. Hope this version like that.
It would be so awesome to have the region based on France. It wouldn't be out of place. After all, Unova's geography drew its basis from outside of Japan, which was a huge change from previous games. Who knows? Maybe we'll see a lot of different cultures mirrored in future regions.
Between both theories (chromosomes and axis) I prefer chromosomes. Now regarding the region I think that there's no shadow of a doubt that there's at least a section of the region related to France but I don't that it will either be shaped like France or that it will be exclusively about France. I presume it either will have a section of main land with connections to France and other Europe locations or while there we'll be an island with similarities to south England and north France.
I like the idea of the region covering areas from Western Europe(France) all the way down to North Africa. It gives the Pokemon team a LOT of opportunities to tie in cultural references from several different countries. What I'm really wondering, though, is if France is only the beginning; what if we got a certain number of areas based on countries to start with, and the DLC packs(that may or may not be made) will provide us with areas based on other countries, as well, like Norway, Sweden, Germany. This region could encompass all of Europe! How's that for an interesting map?

I hope that the region doesn't start over with route 1, but starts with 101 as did Johto. Where are people getting the idea it is also based off of North Africa?
I hope the region is inspired by more countries than just France, Europe has a lot of cool themes going in on for a game. Maybe Spain as the southern part of the region, Netherlands/Belgium as the Northern part (like in the Zoroark movie), Germany as the Eastern part and the UK as the western part. With the France based city right in the middle.
I certainly wouldn't mind a region based off of France since I imagine there could be many creative landmarks. From what I saw, I already really like the region. I was skeptical of a main series game being in 3D and how it would look, but it all looks great!
^ This is the reason why I like arguing. If I come off as standoffish or overly angry in an argument, don't worry. I'm probably having the time of my life. Whether I agree with them or not, the pokemon fandom has a lot of different opinions, and I love how nobody is afraid to share them.even if we don't understand each other, that's not a reason to reject each other. There are two sides to any argument. Is there one point of view that has all the answers? Give it some thought.
While I'm not sure how relevant it is, I believe the screenshot of the player looking out over the town has a sign with a "3" on it.
Gabe Newell confirmed
I guess to say the Regions evil organizations might end up being Team Plasma or a league of scientists. (Return of Team Rocket perhaps!?)
I don't know why, but it just doesn't feel like Game Freak will be making a new organization :/ even if they did what would they call it? Team Chrome? (THINK OF ALL THE KHR! REFERENCES!) Team Chromosome(s)?

As much as I really like the aspect of the game being entirely Europe, I can't see it being the case. I feel like they would try to be equally France as they are England, so will they have a London-esque city as well as a Parisian one? What about Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, and these other influences? The region would consist of really large cities like Castellia, and I think a lot of players, yes appreciated a large city, but I don't know if they could handle multiple large ones. Even Goldenrod size is kind of extreme.
On a side note I saw that earlier there was discussion about gyms being in different buildings, like a cathedral or something, and I totally agree. Gen V did a fantastic job at starting that (Roxie and the Bar, Lenora and the Museum, The Trio and the Restaurant) What if the Versailles building is a ghost gym (Hence the Golurk statue) Other gyms could be other notable buildings too.
