People like it when things evolve because it makes some of their favorite pokemon viable. The designs also usually improve, although the art style shifts. I, for example, would enjoy it if Mawile evolved. It would patch previous 'mistakes' where pokemon were designed to be useful in-game until the rest of your party evolves, where they become obsolete. But because they are no longer from the current generation, they can tweak them without worrying about what happens in-game.

I highly doubt that Pokemon that don't evolve were added to the game specifically to be a temporary bridge for until those that can evolve do so, especially when some are considered to have fairly decent stats already (Buffoulant, Sawk, Throh etc). It's great that weaker pokes evolve and get a buff, but why go through this motion if you can have everything in one generation, from the same batch of artists? If GF needs the hype in the meantime, introducing a the basic stage of a brand new Pokemon line can generate as much hype, if not more.

Art style shift irks me a little, but it wasn't that bad a problem (I can usually just ignore a badly designed Pokemon) until GF outdid themselves by showing a Eeveelution that manages to confuse the speculators because it couldn't depict the type it represents clearly. Either that, or we're getting new types, like "Light type", "Pink type", Ribbons-and-Frills type", or"NEW type".

Just a few evolutions I'd personally like to see: Rapidash (into a Pegasus), Jynx, Ursaring, Sharpedo (into a Hammerhead), Qwilfish, Golduck, Dewgong (into a narwhal), Marowak, Pinsir, Lanturn (into a dolphin), Flaaffy branch, Dunsparce, Corsola, Octillery (into a squid), Houndoom (into a Cerberus), Donphan (into a mammoth), Breloom, Manectric, Crawdaunt, Kecleon, Banette (since Dusclops got one), Absol, Relicanth, Kricketune, Lumineon, Musharna, Basculin, Swanna, Ferrothorn, Beartic, Heatmor, and Durant. I'd also enjoy seeing a Pokemon that evolves into both Tauros and Miltank, one that evolves into Volbeat and Illumise, and one that evolves into Pinsir and Heracross

I definitely agree with you on all of this. Sharpedo into a hammerhead: that is brilliant! I love hammerheads and since sharpedo has bad defenses ( poor thing I name mine after Kisame from Naruto for pete's sakes ... OK I name my garchomp Kisame too but yeah) Sharpedo needs love.

Also I never noticed the trend if the amount of Pokemon total in each gen. If I were to speculate the total I want to guess between 110-130 pokes this time hopefully not to many legends.

Like most people on the forums I think Sylveon is a flying type. My theory is that eevee evolves into sylveon if its gender is female because sylveon has this feminine look to it and its counterpart usually eeveelutions come in pairs is most likely going to be a fighting, bug or rock since one eeveelution has to super effective against the other and it will have a boyish look.

That would be interesting. I'm trying to think of ways Eevees don't evolve yet. Maybe it'll be a trade-while-holding evo?

New Eeveelutions always evolve in brand-new ways which were introduced in their respective generation. It's almost certain that Sylveon will evolve through a new method of evolution introduced with the release of X/Y.

All silliness aside, do we need pokemon based on transportation? GF have made pokemon out of electrodes, candles, grime, ice cream, food, berries. Why not transportation?

Just some Pokemon I'd like to see get an evolution in this Generation:
1) Mawile (This thing could be such an awesome Pokemon with a decent enough evolution. Just plain missed potential)
2) Dunsparce (Same as Mawile, needs an evolution. More missed potential).
3) Sableye
4) Corsola
5) Spinda
6) Maybe Smeargle and maybe Farfetch'd

I honestly think sylveon will be flying type. I'm guessing to obtain it, one will use a new flower that gets introduced as an expendable item. Thus similar to shaymin with gracidea, except it actually evolves and the flower gets used up.

It would be hard to pull off because the Pokemon would end up looking like all the characters from Cars.

Some new evolutions I'd like to see:
1) Jynx (a Xena-like warrior or viking, don't think that would insult anyone, it representing a powerful woman)
2) Dunsparce (Normal/Dragon?)
3) Farfetch'd (Fighting/Flying?)
5) Dugtrio (I don't know, kinda to get the Magneton-treatment... maybe something with visible legs?)
6) Rapidash (Fire/Flying pegasos - yes, I'm yet another one rooting for it)
7) Shellder (I've always wanted the shells from Slowbro/Slowking to be separate Pokémon, probably not gonna happen though)
8) Mr.Mime (could work well with the French theme)
9) Girafarig (an actual giraffe with a loooong neck)
10) Delibird (I've always visioned a Santa Claus-themed look for it: fat and long "beard")
11) Cherrim (Grass/Fire burning flower?)
12) Swoobat (similar to Golbat getting Crobat)
13) Qwilfish, Corsola, Luvdisc, Smeargle, Sableye, Mawile, Volbeat, Illumise (just a bunch that could do with an evolution)

As for pre-evolutions, I'm still waiting for the Kangaskhan-baby, as well as a Tauros/Miltank one. Maybe ones for Onix and Tropius as well.
These are just ideas, most of which are unlikely to happen but it's fun to speculate Hopefully at least some of the aforementioned Pokémon get new (pre-)evolutions!

Rock/Dragon (A Dragon Egg with it's feet breaking out and two eye holes)
Evolves by Learning the move Hatch

It has now hatched with a big piece of egg shell still stuck unto its head like a hat and its arms and tail covered in egg shells

It is Dark Blue Coloured with tiny pieces of egg shells going down from its head to its back like a mosaic pattern and it grows wings

If it's flying, and with the speculation about the sky area... Evolving in this area could be a good method of evolving for Sylveon.

I actually would like to see more man-made Pokemon in the vein of Porygon and the like. Idk...about cars but Pokemon like Mewtwo, Porygon, Ditto, and others have always kind of had interesting back stories and what not.

How about Porygon3? Porygon-z was supposed to be a failed enhancement of Porygon2 that travels to different dimensions, so how about a proper upgrade from the boys over at Silph Co.?

Agreed. With all the technological advances of late, a few new man made Pokémon would make sense. Maybe an Electric/Fighting robot or something?

Golett and Golurk aren't man-made, well not technically. They're spirits that inhabit old robots (I think, I'll check)

If Rapidash gets an evolution, she would be a good party member with my Milotic in double battles, in terms of both power and beauty.
