What are people's thoughts on doing different things this week? Something *not* Standard. Or Standard, but different? Like...Pauper Standard? EDH Standard?

EDH always, but I'd hate to miss it this week. Do it in like a week from now and I'd actually be able to participate :P

If we're doing EDH Standard, unless we can have non-Standard generals, we should wait for GTC to be in... which means, iirc, Friday at midnight it's kosher (otherwise the color combos available are the monos, WU, WR, WG, UB, UR, BR, BG). Pauper Standard sounds like it could be fun, though. I have a build I'm working on for Pauper Extended, but I think Extended as a format is dead.
e: Lost 1-2 against Kamotz. Good games, though.

modern seems ok to me. or a twist on standard. i don't really mind.

We could eventually even do "roleplay" matches or FNMs. Say, once Gatecrash is out, we could do what the Prereleases have been doing and pick a Guild and duke it out. We could even do a "gateless" movement, if you don't feel atuned to any guild.
There are a lot of twists we could make if we do some RP style matches. For example, we could add Commander-esque mechanics to Guild vs Guild matches by having a regular 60 card deck and then carrying your Guild Leader as a Commander, but otherwise playing everything like a normal match.
