So are we allowed to use cards from the original Ravnica block? Or is this one a Standard guildedEDH?

We'd need to agree on that. If we go TRUE EDH instead of Standard with Commanders then I think that even with the first ravnican cycle most guilds don't have enough cards to make a 100 deck worth of singles.

Let's not call duplicates, guys. There are so few of us already, it wouldn't be that fun to have an entire tournament playing Azorius :P

Well, we wouldn't be *just* limited to the actual RTR block cards, would we? Then that's Block Constructed, and...well...I'm not too sure how I feel about that. Standard EDH would take things from the whole Standard.

So the way I see it we can do:

1. Standard decks, but with EDH Rules (60 Cards, but with a Commander and Commander color-restrictions).
2. EDH decks, but with Standard Cards (100 Cards, all from INI, DKA, AVR, M13, RTR, and GTC).

EDIT: Speaking of Block Constructed, isn't it possible to do Drafts on Cockatrice? We need to do that sometime. TIme zones are a pain, so we might just do it among three or so players and just that once (hard to keep track of decks) but its worth considering, no?

Drafts on Cockatrice happen on another host site and then you import your decks into Cockatrice. It's an interesting sort of idea, though I'm not a huge fan of figuring out the logistics for that kind of undertaking. A 3-man draft is pretty...bleh. Very limited pool. Only 9 packs total. Even a 6-man draft is bleh.

However, the Cockatrice database has an official Oracle update with the GTC cards.

8 player draft is the only way to draft. But anyway I'm up for option 1.

I'll say Option ... um ... 2 I think. I usually prefer EDH decks to Standard decks all the time. I downloaded the GTC update too, so I'm going to be adding some cardds to my current EDH on there, plus making a new one.

The issue with *real* EDH is that it can take a LONG time. Standard w/Commanders shouldn't take that long at all...it's just a twist on Standard.

Which is precisely why I suggested it. It's got the simpleness and swiftness of Standard with the Quirkyness of Commander and combines the best of both worlds in a casual environment.

Either way is good with me, honestly, but I might bow out of next week's due to putting together a new deck due to Gatecrash. I wouldn't think it would take that long, but you never know.

As usual, VMs are probably the best way to get hold of me, but I can't get a round in today until about 4 PM local time (GMT-0600) due to college (and not even being able to get an internet connection through most programs because my college is really dumb, even though I have nice long breaks where I could get a match in easily), and not tomorrow because of Gatecrash prerelease.

Technically, GTC isn't legal until Next Saturday, which is technically *after* legit FNM. So we'd have to take a vote or something to decide what type of Standard we'd use next week.

Phloggiston, I also wouldn't be able to get on any earlier than you (10 PM at -0 GMT) so we're probably gonna be fine if we can have a match two days from now (since tomorrow's not a good day for me either)

So I went Boris last night but couldn't stay and compete. But I was able to stay to open my packs. I pulled the Gruul leader. I also got the Simic shock land and traded it for a Boris shock land.
